I think that Avatar sounds good too. Sounds cool and not what anyone else would use in a RPG.
They allready said that the class name will be something really easy to understand. Something that only by the class name you can have a good idea of what that class can do.
Thats happens with barbarians and witch doctors.
But wtfh a avatar could do? Avatars is some kind incarnation or mediator of some deity.
It's a too open concept.
Magician sounds a little too cheesy, like they are going to saw a person in half or pull a rabbit out of a hat.
It could be something even more generic like manipulator or controller if they can do more than control the elements. If not, then I would prefer elementalist. But, I could see them adding a skill tree that has things like telekinesis (a more useful version which uses equipped melee weapons), repulsion (with a high knockback), and maybe some kind of levitation to suspend enemies or hold them. Considering the barb has status effect powers, I'm sure the magic based character will have even more to make up for being physically weaker.
I don't like cool downs the way blizz put them in. First, d2 had no cd and everything could be cast insanely fast. Sorc was the best class I think, but that was because fc gear was overpowered.
Anything can be balanced. Either lower the faster cast bonus, or higher casting rates. The CD made stacked fc useless.
What about "nothing"? I'm really looking forward for really new classes. Not the same classes with different names.
Don't expect that.
In D2 we have almost all D1 spells. But in D2 we also have tons of new skills.
Make something new is not throw away the old things. Is add new things to the old list.
Avatar is the only anime show I ever enjoyed watching, but I'll set that aside.
TELEPORTING -
okay so this is a bit but still, I noticed that in the beginning of the 20 minute gameplay video, the barbarian had a cooldown on his war stomp stun ability. It was only about 6-10 seconds.
Now I love teleport, but holding down right click to move 100x faster than anyone else through walls is a little bit overpowered. So if they make it like a 6 second cooldown that would be nice.
Plus, if anyone noticed, there are a ton of different levels/floors for d3, its totally 3d. (pun not intended), and idk if blizzard would let you teleport down a floor/level.
AND I'd like to add that the narrator of the gameplay video said that "the barbarian is ONE of the classes that will be returning in diablo three"
my bet is on the rogue or paladin.

You are wrong. He said that it is the only returning class.
dunno if anyone posted anything about this but in the book moon of the spider a character name lady nesardo (i think) teleported like wherever she wanted instantly without pausing. so, maybe there shouldnt be cooldown because then it wouldnt make sense with the books. (dont really know if the books have any effect on the skills or anything tho)
The vizjerez or w.e theyre called in diablo legacy of blood thats the best name for them because its the exact name of the mage type people acoording to the dialo series tele should have a little cooldown not so long that we can use it once a minute but not too short so we cant bypass the map

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
