Love that warm arcane glow, that feeling of the energy coursing through you as you drive the blade through a goat-man's thro- e... I mean yes, I like the weapon glow.
Weapons glowing should be like a flashlight being left on. The battery being the mana. It doesn't seem like something that should infinitely glow with energy. Best to design the weapon so it only unleashes its properties upon striking.
I'm disappointed so many of you like the glowing weapons.

I think that's a better option, it glows for a short time after striking.
But I like some glowing rather than not glowing at all.

Yes, well the glowing would take place when swinging and resonate for awhile after the swing. That I think would be a nice compromise. Still no light tracers on the weapons though. I hate light tracers on everything.

love that idea, but what if the character already reached a very high attack speed? that would make it as if the weapon is on a constant glow, especially when facing huge amounts of enemies. the glow will just stop after the carnage is over. then you encounter some more parties after a brief 5 seconds. the glow wont die.

But either way, the glowing would always go on. At least with my idea the glowing would still stop in between engagements. Still a lot, yes, if you're fighting tons of enemies, but not incessantly like how they are in the game trailer.
glowing weapons show status and "pro-ness", so hell yea keep the glowing weapons. and it makes it more fun experimenting with weapon combinations to maximize ur monster bashing.

I like your idea better Siaynoq.

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.

Status maybe, but pro-ness?
They showed status in D2 just fine by being different colors. Red for fire, green for poison, yellow for lightning, etc.

yeah i guess that would suffice...just no constant glow-ala-lightsabre

Yes, glowy is good but not to the extent that the weapon is just a glow.
it should be used to enhance the look of the weapon rather than replace the look

I liked the color changes but aura is a good thing too... I'd like to see auras for the more powerful elemental weapons and a simple color change for the weaker ones or something.
Add more options to the god damn poll. I like glowing weapons but I do not want it to glow more. ONLY weapons should glow, armor shouldn't glow except if light is hitting it or a golden armor or something.
I generally like the idea of glowing weapons, but I think a delicate balance must be achieved between overly flashy exaggerated glowing and boring. I like the idea of only powerful weapons giving off any sort of significant glow/fire/whatever. Also, I like the idea of a restrained look to the weapons, like you can see the burn of it, just waiting to explode onto somebody or something, and yet it is controlled, making it all the more lethal.
The image I think of for the ideal balance is the real mean looking, scarred, tough, dangerous, generally bad a@@ looking guy who walks into a rough bar in a bad neighborhood, and you can tell that he is just itching for somebody to bump into him or spill a drink on him or something, and yet he is quiet and restrained, almost peaceful looking at first glance. But when you look into his eyes, you can see the immense power and danger that lurks within him.
I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what comes to mind.

Yeah I'd be okay with that, sounds good.

I would rather have colored steel than some shiny aura around my Scythe

No, I like the description. Restrained is good.
