Hey guys, today I showcase and explain the mechanics of the Convention of Elements ring, designed by members of the community at BlizzCon 2014. It beats out a Stone of Jordan for overall damage output and is considered best in slot for certain builds. Enjoy & discuss!
What are the use cases for this ring? I ask because I can only think of one time that I would like to use this ring over a focus and restraint setup. (Unity & CoE). I wouldn't even use it on my barb, because F&R or Unity/RoRG for 6WW/4IK is too good.
I also don't play enough to know all the setups, so that is why I ask.

I don't know all off the top of my head, but here are some examples:
1) 6 wrath/4 ik barb - instead of unity use CoE either 'yolo solo' or group speed farming if you don't have a BK setup
2) dagger of darts wd - you'll be using RoRG (so you can use MoJ), so other slot is either CoE or unity
3) condemn sader with leoric's
Basically any build where you 'have to' use RoRG, otherwise yes F/R is typically better. Also keep in mind a non-RoRG unity/CoE combo is 'best of both worlds' - solid mitigation and solid damage.

CoE + Zodiac + 6pc Wastes + 2 BK + high CDR is another way to use it for those high 55-60s.
Yes I meant Carnevil with DoD, sorry. I play all classes and get my gear mixed up sometimes. If you check my progression series in the WD forums you'll see my Carnevil build (currently low 40's, need to get back to clearing it).
