I could see 100m+ coming out of it. There are some truly nasty 2H builds running around, often centered around SSS (Fulmination or Sudden Assault) with some spirit regen on helm to compensate. Heck, if I had more than 2 mil atm I'd buy it in half a heartbeat.
One handers is atm always better because its faster and gives more spirit regen (spamming overawe) and cyclone procs, which is the main source of dps for monks right now
Go to diabloporgress.com - almost all of the top 50 DPS monks are using skorns.
You'll also notice that none of those high DPS monks are anywhere near the top Paragon rankings. Dual wielding is clearly the way to go if you aren't blinded by large numbers.
Or maybe they just aren't chasing the Paragon carrot and enjoy a different play style. Everyone is so quick to jump on the critical bandwagon when someone runs something not so mainstream. I for example prefer playing a 2H barb, with a couple different specs (depending on if I'm solo or grouped). Sure I've done blender barb stuff, but to me the 2H play style is just more fun. I'll hit 100 when I hit 100. I run 300+ MF with stacks anyway and still have 60k sheet DPS (Paragon 22). Hopefully much more if I land my Skorn I am looking at today.
Thanks for the replies guys. I've decided that this drop is a sign from the diablogods and I've leveled my monk up to use it. Now to just get the supporting armor! Even with absolute crap armor this weapon nets 70k unbuffed dps on the character sheet. I'm playing with trying to make a tempest storm runspeed build. I hear 2hers are good for that.
Still not sure what the true worth of this weapon is. It has better stats (besides dps and life steal / loh) than even the weapons shown on the top end diabloprogress DPS monks. The Dex is an insane DPS boost.
If any of you have any suggestions or links for 2h builds / related threads, feel free to let me know!
2h are now viable but not better than 1h and shield
Real monks don't use shields.
Real Monks are one with everything, including shields.
To clarify what was a light-hearted jab at shield Monks.......my thoughts that a Monk shouldn't use a shield come partly from the combat animation that shows the Monk always putting his shield up during combat.
Monks have too many defensive resources and bonuses from DW or 2H weapons to be defacing the class by toting a cumbersome shield around with them.
In all seriousness, when you chose to use a shield for your monk, you chose to deny your build of it's full potential in pursuit of having a tanky Monk, something (tanks) that have no real niche in D3 PvE.
Im a 150k unbuffed dps monk. I have have a 1360 dps good rolled skorn. I normally dual wield and hoped a Skorn would be compeditive. But sadly it was not. Skorns adds more tooltip dps than dual wielding (thats why you see skorns on diabloprogress) but when it comes to farming dual wielding is so much quicker. Did some runs all starting from "kill ghom" and full clear. Dual wielding was about 10 mins faster than running with the skorn. The skorn makes big numbers indeed, but the slow swing timer, just makes farming slow.
This is just me of course, bit since monk is my main hero, id play with it for a day or two just to have some fun, then sell it. Its just worth too much for some to keep it. Though if i was already rich id keep it.

I found an item the other day that made me want to roll a monk.
I'm not sure how much this is worth, I haven't found many on the AH with stats as good.
Anyone have any ideas on it's worth?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, if so, please move the thread to the correct location. Thanks!

Dual Wielding reigns supreme.

Sure seems like that Skorn makes it viable.
