I'm here at work listening to music, and I decide to listen to the music from Diablo 2.
Sure enough I start to feel nostalgiac as all hell. God I miss this game! I grew up playing the first 2.... good times! I always looked at summers as 6 extra hours each day for playing Diablo 2, and when it was time to go back to school, I usually just ended up planning character builds by adding up all of the possible skill points that I could gain (through leveling and through quests), and distributing them on the skill tree that I drew up.
Unfortunately I had to grow up and get a job, so I decided to stop playing, which was about 5 times harder than it was to quit smoking. I was on and off this game from 2003 to 2006, but I gave it up for good a couple of years ago because of my job and my wife - both of which tend to take up a lot of time - the precious time I need to do Mephisto and Bhaal runs and to deck my characters in the most l33t gear imaginable.
... I want Diablo 3 now! Real life be damned... it can't compete with the awesomeness of Diablo. I feel like I would be moving backwards if I were to go back to D2, but if it were 3... that's an entirely new game! I'd be moving forward, baby.
I'm glad I found this forum filled with people who are just as crazy as me about the idea of a Diablo 3. I look forward to being here when the official announcement of Diablo 3 is made. I tried googling Diablo 3 and this was the first result. A lot of other results were saying that there were a bunch of big hints that Blizzard will announce some big games soon... Anxious!
To Blizzard (since they read all of these introduction threads): Please give us D3! Bring meaning back into my life! (No offense to the wife, but great offense to the job because you suck) And please don't make it like World of Warcraft. Stick to the Diablo 2 gameplay.
Edit: And don't be exclusive to Windows Vista. Blech!
Ahh, welcome to our humble abode fellow wayward wanderer, you'll find that most members of this site are pleasant conversationalists (aside from a few *cough*chaos*cough*) Once you reach 100 posts you can enter our guild, S.I.C.K. that was prefounded for the purpose of having an edge in online presence when D3 is released.
I'll trade my Diablo account for your wife and job please
Only if its full of SOJs.
Haha. I can't believe I just remembered that. I played way before the days when Stones of Jordan were used as currency - back when the way to get them was to equip a manald and to gamble purchase from the mystery vendors.
You can't have my wife though. I need her for the secks. Sorry.

After browsing the forums and looking at some of your join dates, I have to ask you guys... are you not jaded by now? I look at these old threads from 2006 and earlier and it's 2 to 3 years later and you still have no official information on a Diablo 3 game. I would have probably given up hope by now if I were you. Hell, I just barely joined this forum and already I'm getting impatient for this game.
patience is the most important virtue. Without our presence there might not have been a need for continuation in the diablo series(I like to think that our persistence will pay off).
I think we all know its coming, its just a matter of "when".
I'm pretty sure that they would more-than-likely make the gameplay similar to WoW's - especially since the team that developed Diablo 2 is no longer around.
hehe - Having to grow up and get a job does have its bad points, but would you really want to trade it all back??:D

You're not the first one to wonder... But welcome anyway.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Welcome to the forum! Let your stay with us be a long one.
Yes, it is a long and hard wait. We wait ever patiently however, despite no evidence, no hint, no apparent hope. But we hope! Hope is all we have left, and I try my hardest to keep it alive in our members. Join me in keeping everyone hopeful and patient, and we'll be great friends! :D:D

Welcome to the forum, might I offer you a flame retardant suit?
Yes, and a +1,000 to ice damage sword. You'll need it if you do decide to join forces with me. Lol.
