I was wondering if any of you guys played this game before. It is a good game, but there are some flaws. If you have played it. Please tell me what you liked about it and what was your favorite character.

I've never played it but i think i saw an xplay for it and they kinda didnt like it because of its repitition with combos and like 10000 guys attacking you at once.
I started out with the original Dynasty Warriors for Playstation. It was just a generic fighting game, though, so it didn't hold my interest for long. Besides, those polygons were dangerous, and could have put my eye out.
I love the rest of the series, though. It's a great game to just pick up and play; mindlessly slaughtering swarms of enemies that come after you. I also like how it's based on historical events and people, and while it's not entirely accurate, it's still pretty nifty.
Hands-down, my favorite characters are Lu Bu and Yue Ying. Zhou Tai and Diao Chan were also pretty fun to play.
I loved the series.. i have like almost all of them lol.. i even have the tactic games if any of you have played those?.. Fav char(s) Lu bu, Sun Ce, and Sun quan

You should not fear death but embrace it 4 death is a release from the pain that you suffer on earth..
I use to love dynasty warriors. Running around and single handly changing the outcome of battles it made me feel so beastly, but after a while it got repetitive tho. My favorite characters was zhao yun, ling tong, and zhou yu. The scariest char to me was Lu Bu. He was so freakin hard to kill in dynasty warriors 4.
I like the fifth one because you get more stuff to do it with. I recently started with Guan Ping and his massive sword. You gets used to it, even after getting the fourth weapon. My favorites would be: Lu Bu, Guan Ping, Zhou Yu, Gan Ning, Zhang Liao, and Ling Tong. There are many others, but to hard to say. One question though. What is the luck for? Where can I find the orbs in the fifth one? I can't find them anywhere.

zhao yun was the man and my fave with his huge reach. not to mention his combos could endlessly chain if u timed it right. The game was Great i played 3 for many hours with friends unlocking mostly everything. I got 4 but didnt play it nearly as much
as stated above it gets somewhat repetative but the slaghtering of 1000's of enemies a stage was quite fun.
Wish u could shoot arrowws from horseback(maybe the newer ones u can not sure)
and Yes Lu Bu was a beast of an enemy on hard mode. u would see his cut scene and as hundreds of slain enemies and generals lay around u. u still hesitate to draw his attention
If you find his fourth weapon. You can max out on attack and it is also light with evolution. I have been using him ever since, and he is maxed out. I have a few that are maxed out as well. I just started with Yue Ying. This would be the first girl characted i would max out.

Yue Ying is really worth getting maxed stats on. Though she's not as strong, she is almost the female equivalent of Lu Bu when it comes to crowds. I forget what charge number it is, but the attack where she spins around with her scythe is great for clearing an area.
I rarely hear of anyone using her, so I'm glad to hear that you're trying her out. She beats out most of the other female characters, that's for sure.
I have played all dynasty warriors and my favorite has to be Dynasty Warriors 4 for xbox (played the most) My favorite character is Zhou Tai (Wu Dynasty) for ... well everyone whom played it should know Not to mention I know a glitch for 100 hit combo.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
The only thing I hated about the fourth one would have to be when you duel them. All of them glow when you are dueling them. That is what sucked about it, because they were always strong and you were a weakling.

I never really had a problem dueling. Ya your stats are brought down drastically, but just so long as you know what to do, you should win every time. In the beginning I always start of with a jump attack. That forces them to block your attack. Most of the time, I land behind them after they parried. Then I do a x x y combo (Xbox) that stuns them when you are done...by then, there life should be a third down. Then I do a x x x y combo that launches them towards the wall...right when they hit the ground and flip back up, you do another combo before they hit the ground...they should be dead now.

Sometimes I could even barely leave a scratch. For some reason they would always defeat me in five blows. I would have liked it if you could have had the same stats. I win a lot, but when it comes to Lu Bu. I just can't win.

Red hair FTW
I always assumed that Luck affected how good an item was when you picked it up. I could be wrong, but I haven't read anything that's said otherwise.
I wasn't sure where to find the Orbs either, so I ended up using a Rare Item FAQ to help find them. There's a good one here at GameFAQs.

I played him a little bit. He's a pretty fun character to mess around with, though he somehow reminds me of a Chinese version of Cloud.
I got lucky one time and found a Light weapon with Evolution on it for him. Now that's some fun stuff.
