I just wanted to introduce myself before I start posting and joining in on the conversations across the boards here.
My name is Mark, or, as you can see by my forum name, Cavoc. Cavoc has always been my diablo name, and I guess I'll continue that tradition.
I am 29, almost 30 and am a surviving World of Warcraft player. I recently quit wow for various reasons, but I have a long history with that game going all the way back to gaining closed beta access after having lunch with some members of the dev team on wow at E3 2004. I played the game until March of this year.
I even hosted and produced a popular WoW podcast.
Prior to that, I played a lot of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. I absolutely *love* those games. Lots of memories, and sadly, I never kept in touch with any of the friends I made in those games. This is really too bad, because compared to my time in wow, those friendships should have lasted!
Anyway, I quit wow a month ago and have been enjoying the time 'off'. Getting into a lot of good games that I unfortunately missed because of wow.
Currently I am pretty hardcore into Call of Duty 4 on PC and MLB 2k8 for Xbox 360.
I've visited this site before and have read the forums for some time now, always with the intention of someday joining closer to when I suspected Blizz would be announcing Diablo 3 (or some variation of) and I think, like many of you, that this will finally happen at the Worldwide Invitational this June.
I'm really hoping that Blizz will follow the free to play online formula, rather than pay to play. Not that I have much against that business model, (I did play wow for 3 and a half years) but I really miss what Diablo and especially Diablo 2 brought to the online gaming scene. I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo 3 ends up being a subscription based game, but I can always hope.
In anycase, seems that most of you are preety nice folks, and I am hoping that a quickly aging gamer can join your ranks on the message boards and eventually the game when it comes out.
Thanks for taking the time to read my intro - off to work for the day now! Ugh...
Welcome, Master Cavoc, to Deeha'Blothri. Your presence here is, or atleast will be, greatly respected, I assure you.
Cavoc is a cool name, btw. Almost like 'Havoc'.
I'm glad you think they will announce DIII at the WWI in June. Coming from you, it certainly gives me hope! I never really believed it before, but everyone seems to think so, including the more skeptical ones (aka Equinox lol). But who knows, maybe they are right?
I look forward to seeing you around town sometime.
You'll likely get some sort of mention in my comic eventually lol. Definitely seem to be an interesting character.
Edit: I think a lot of people are thinking the same as you - join up when DIII is all hyped up. that will be cool, when our town is actually populated lol.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
If there are any other 360 games you play on Xbox live, you can always enter your gamertag here cause some of us are always looking for good blokes to play with. http://www.diablo3.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5736

There are a number of Sig/Avatar "shops" that you can request signatures and avatars in the Diablo 3 art section. (Don't worry, you don't have to pay...much...) (Joking! You don't have to pay at all. :P)
