What I don't like about McCain the most is the fact that he apparently either doesn't think the economy is all that important an issue and can get away with beating around the bush when asked his stance on it, or, legitimately doesn't know how to handle the issue and is hoping to somehow squeak into the white house without being pressured on it.

Also, in my opinion, he thinks too much like Bush; that continued aggression in the middle east is a pre-emptive measure to domestic safety. The only real results this war is getting is lowering positive perspective on the US. Globally, most nations disagree with the way the US is handling this situation.

I think this 'war' is simply a means to cover up some ulterior motive, whether that is financial gain for Bush/Chaney and their croneys or simply because they feel it's their right to push other nations around and like to feel powerful, I don't know.

I just feel (regardless of how much experience Obama has) that the change he promotes would be welcome. Obviously what the republicans have been doing the last 7 1/2 years isn't working (just look at it's health care system - or lack there of, economy and extremely bloated deficit). Is it all worth the money wasted on a futile war?

I'd expect the argument that the health care system was crap before Bush became 'president', and granted, you'd be right. But at least the Clintons attempted to make it better despite it being shot down.

What is so wrong with change? Or, at the very least, seeing what Obama can do? Oh wait, corporate interest is at stake! I forgot.

Although I know it will never happen, I wish they'd continue on from here as a Obama-Clinton ticket. I have this fear that McCain will somehow pull a victory out of his arse and lead the world down the wrong path. Scary.

    Today I bought:

    - A Wii
    - Super Smash Bros Brawl
    - Super Mario Galaxy
    - Wii Play
    - Wii USB Adapter for online play
    - Extra Nunchuk controller
    - Spiderman 3 for 360 for my son

And I still have to beat:

    - Crisis Core
    - COD 4

    Still Playing:

    - MLB 2k8 on XB 360
    - D2 LOD

    And paid off GTA 4.

Now all I need is time to play it all.

So a few days after my purchases, and I am playing d2 the most when I am at home, and crisis core for my psp on the road.

Titan Quest is pretty good, but no one seems to be playing it online... which is what I kinda wanted to do. Ah well. GTA comes out soon, so that should chew up some time too.

I picked up a copy of Titan Quest Gold edition (which is installing right now), as well as a fresh copy of D2 and LOD, which hasn't aged well graphically, but still pretty fun and brings back a lot of memories, Crisis Core for PSP which is really, really good, and I also pre-ordered GTA 4.

All in al, I spent a good chunk, but they were all games I've been wanting to pick up so I figured I might as well just get em.

I was talking to Cavoc. I should have said that I guess.:D

I was able to find a copy, I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Oddly enough, I started playing each class in Hellgate last night to level 10 to see which I liked best. I still can't decide :/

Thinking hunter or summoner. Or evoker. Anyone else play hellgate here?

I'll let you know when I get Titan Quest all installed.

Someone should call a game store and ask for Diablo III and when they say, "We don't have that game", ask, "Well do you know when it will be released?"... See what they say. I actually have a good friend that works part-time at a GameStop and he said once in a while a nerd will ask about Diablo III. He just fills them in with the rumors and online controversy about it. :)

hehe yeah people call sometimes asking for it. Some people even claim they've seen it at our competitor and then say they'll just go and get it there if I won't help them and I say "Call me back and let me know how many they have left after you get it." Needless to say I never get a call.

Do you have a local gamestore near you. Like a gamestop.

Hehe, yeah, I have my own EB Games actually. I called my assistant manager and asked if we had it in and we didn't.

I also live in a smallish city, so my store is the only place other than Wal-mart that sells PC games.

@Stone: I just played the demo - I haven't been able to find a copy of Titan Quest to buy. I went out with the intention of getting it this morning, but wasn't able to find it! :-(

I'll keep looking because I liked the demo pretty well.

I just installed D2 and it did prompt me with a compatibility issue warning, but so far I made it to level 4 with no problems. Guess we'll see. I still have to install LOD after some lunch hehe.

I'll have to check out DragonFable - sounds like you two are having some fun with it.

I just got back from the store and picked up the D2/LOD battlehest and am going to attempt to install it on my vista machine, hoping all will be well with that. If not, I have my decent laptop running xp that can run it. We'll see what happens.

What server do you guys/gals typically play on? Do you play together?

From one quickly aging gamer to another, welcome aboard. I never
could get into WoW. Many of my friends have tried but it never had
    much appeal to me.

BTW, how's the MLB 2k8 going? Big baseball fan here.

    -lostie

    Thanks for the welcome :)

MLB 2k8 is quite good imo, but it's still not without it's flaws. The new 'total control pitching' is anything but. I played with it on that control scheme for a whole day off and just could not get it to work right (the opposing teams kept hitting off me consistently). With this control scheme, you basically use the right analog stick to control your pitches. It doesn't work right. I follow the directions the tutorial gives me, yet I can't control the picth and as a result I always throw a 'meat picth' and get homered off of at least once an inning.

Luckily, you can change the control scheme to classic (uses the face buttons for pitches), albeit with some digging around. You can't change the control scheme from the controller set up screen (weird huh?) you have to go into a sub menu of a sub menu to do change it and save it. This is the other major flaw in the game, is that the menu/interface is terrible. Not intuitive at all.

Having said that, once you do get the controls set (and saved) to classic mode, the game is really fun. Graphically it's very nice, it plays well and playing against the computer isn't a guaranteed loss.

Oh, the game did freeze once when I had a no hitter going for Halladay in the top of the eigth and I was winning 2 - 0. (I'm a Jays fan hehe). That made me angry.

Over all, I'd say a solid 7.5 out of 10.

thats what I am starting to think might be my best course of action. I just wanted to hear what people are playing in case there is something out there I haven't heard of.

I'll have to load up D2 on my laptop (XP) though, I hear there are issues getting it to run on Vista (my desktop), and I don't have time to mess with it hehe.

I mentioned in my intro post that I'm currently playing some Call of Duty 4 to take up some time until D3 comes out but I've still been itching for something Diablo-ish so I've been poking around some other games, such as:

Hellgate London: Not bad overall, but there are some minor things about the game that just don't mesh well with me. I can't put my finger on it, but the one thing I know I don't really care for are the player character models. UGLY.

    Dungeon Siege 2:
Where do I start? The first Dungeon Siege had it's charms but never really lived up to Diablo 2, or even it's own hype imo. Dungeon Siege 2 looked to correct many of the things people didn't like about the first, but for me, the game was over when I saw the absolute worst looking character models ever. I also wasn't a huge fan of the interface as I found it cumbersome to use, like I had to click in too many places to do the simplest of things. Maybe it was just me, but I never had that problem in D2/LOD.

Titan Quest: Really not too bad from what I played of it, which was only the demo because I can't find a copy of it anywhere. Also, not sure if it was because I have Vista, but the games FPS studdered every now and then which was annoying. For the record, I'm running a machine with an Intel core 2 duo @ 2.4 Ghz with 4 GB ram, and a ATI Radeon 2600 XT w/ 256 MB ram. Not a terrible machine, so, why the laggies?

Guild Wars: I get a free copy of every title they release through work and I still don't play it. Love the character models/faces and overall graphics, but the game sucks imo. Can't jump? Only 8 spells/abilities available at one time? Weird. I do love the idea about hiring NPC's to help make up your group, however.

So here I am, looking for something like Diablo to occupy my time. Are any of you still playing LOD? Should I load it back up and hope D3 is sooner rather than later?
