Well, guys, I'm finally at University! I was one of the first people on my floor to arrive here this morning, we got (pretty much) everything sorted out. I just need to get my text books, etc. and then I think I'm ready for the academics! Classes start on the 10th for me, being this Thursday. Haha, I guess I got my wish - I got a quick summer and now back and learning again. (Yeah I'm a nerd, shut it).
Move-ins stop at 4:00pm, currently it is 2:50pm my time. I just finished ripping all the music from my CDs and identifying them on the laptop, I bought an ethernet cable from the store in the near the main Lounge. SO I got internet, music, all my notebooks and shit ready, bed is made, everything I brought is unpacked, my parents left a few hours ago. So, now I guess I just gotta wait... I don't like that, lol.
Well, from what I've been told, there is a "floor" meeting at 4pm anyways, when the move-ins are done. So I guess that means I get to meet with all the other people on my floor at said meeting, and... stuff. Lol, so 2 options: Sleep, or read?
Right now I got Mustard Plug playing from my laptop, the kids passing by my room probably think I'm some strange kid or something LOL.
Btw, this is in spam, because it doesn't really matter, I'm just bored... so yeah.
edit: Oh, by the way, yes I brought my D2:LoD CDs with me as well. ANd my laptop already has Eastern Sun installed on it. I also have STEAM (account name: KillerSwift), but no STEAM games. Feel free to add me. But lemme know who you are before then!

That sounds like a good idea, start a huge LAN game up. Thankfully I'm in the "High Tech" floor, so like.. all the other people here brought their XBOX and 360's and stuff, as well as PCs, defintely will have a few good game nights.

My uni is 15 minutes away, so no dorms for me, which could have been great fun. I start on October 5th. It's a packed semester, but it's ok..since the next one will be a piece of cake.
Yeah, my college is only 15-20 minutes away, so I'm just commuting. Saves me about 10 grand a year.
Glad to see you got all settled in. And it looks like you'll be getting a good taste of having (a) console(s) at the ready Just don't get absorbed in to gaming too badly whilst you're in your studies. Not that I think you won't do good, but it can be seductive a lot of times when you really have better stuff to do
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Lmao no, we're given our beds, the matresses SUCK, but whatever. Lmao, its 8am in the morning and the peoples just woke us up cause' its Frosch (spelling?) Week and they're doing "Canal" games til' suppertime - where they're gunna have pizza. I haven't signed up yet D; I'm still deciding.
As for D2 LAN parties...well, I'm the only one who brought the games. Lol, but my roommate, and 2 bathroom buddies (lol?) are also gamers, soooo.

Lmao, are you in 3rd year now, then? Wow, I had no idea you were so old. o=
Yeah I know, buuuuut. He still plays PG, and wait til I bust out my SG sig. Which is whenever I get bored of this one.
Back on topic though, I had SO MUCH FUN today at Frosh. Yesterday was Canal games n' shit, which was boring. The night activites (hypnotist show) was much better, but I was exhausted by 10:30 and passed out on my bed, lol. I made some new friends, lots of us just randomly walk up to each other and all like "YO STRANGER! My name is x, what's yours? where you from?" etc. Ah, fun shit, lmao. I made a couple friends, and some people actually LIKE hanging out with me. Probably because I goof off so much and was much more open today than I was yesterday. Today we went to the "beach", had a sand-castle competition, volley-ball tourney and I brought cards and we played Euhcard (spelling? lol). Laura and I DOMINATED, 10-3, lmao.
One of our facils (facils= facilatators, aka group leaders) for our group (our group being DA MOOSE) came up to me after we kicked ass in the sand-castle competition and our chant/song thing, and she high-fived me saying "Glad you decided to leave the dark side" (referring to my dark/anti-social behavoir the day before). XD
University is damn fun so far. I gained 2 huge tihngs so far:
1. Friends, which is totally awesome (and even better, even the "nerdy" looking kids hang out and have fun with the "cool/buff" looking dudes) and *I* seem to be kinda-well-liked? XD
2. A huge ass mother fucking sunburn. My face is SO red and STINGS LIKE A BITCH, same with my neck. Haven't done anything about it. And tomorrow is just some academic orientation, sooo I think my face can take a break now. Ugh, feels like a thousand needles are poking me though, it sucks. Lmao.
P.S. Sorry Mods/Admins if that swearing was accessive or deemed unnecessary. This Frosh stuff is so "indecent' when it comes to language XD . One of our chants is "Fuck the Fees, Fuck the Fees!" because we're fighting for lower tuition fees (which are expected to raise another $1000 this year).
P.P.S. Okay, since you guys are probably clueless, I'll explain what we're doing this Frosh week. We seperated all the Freshmen of this year into different Frosh groups, depending on what House you're in. Our group, as stated earlier, are called "Da Moose". And there's another Frosh group called "Old Crows" (because Carleton University's name is 'The Ravens'), and we all compete against them, make chants for them, talk to them dirty, praise them, etc. and we get "raven points", and whomever has the most, wins. So for our Sandcastle, we honoured lots of different CUSA (Carleton University Student's Association) things that are fond on campus in our chant/song. It was pretty damn awesome. I'd tell you guys the song, but I forget it. Lmao, it was that badass that I'm forced not to tell you guys.
P.P.P.S OH! There was a belching contest, and we sent this girl up, and she KICKED ASS in the first round! Ahahaha, it was amazing. We were all "Whoa shit, yo! YEAH MOOSE!! WOOOO", but then she had a weak burp the next time around. D:

GL with college! I've never had the "dorm" experience. I went to community college for a couple years and now I commute 45 minutes to the university I am at now. I would live on campus, but unfortunately I didn't have an extra $15,000 a year to throw around lol.

I'm totally sorry bout' that Apples. I had that sort of feeling last night, when my roomy fell asleep early (10:30pm) and I was still not really connected with anyone yet, and I didn't want to randomly barge into anyone's room, so I just slept early, lol.
But do you use Facebook? I've always found it painfully worthless until last night, cause' y'all can just add each other, and without bugging each other, just start bonding and hanging out, y'know?
And yeah, this thread could be closed, because tis almost considered a blog? Lmao, but its interactive, and anyone else is most defintely welcome to share their experiences?
Anyways, I'm off! Laura just messaged me, so we're gunna hang. Peace out, y'all? LOL.
edit: Thanks Cherie! =D Hopefully things will be damn cool this year, and I have a feeling the heat may be turned up too, LOL. ;D
and Other guy (seriously I forgot your username D: sorry dude), I think everyone should have at least 1 year of On-campus res, for experience, meeting new people. I mean, Frosh totally helps n' shit, but most friends you make in that case would just be ones you commute with, and ones in your classes. On campus though, you meet SO MANY PEOPLE and for so much time! I suggest everyone should at least once! And I know some people here in my Moose group that actually live only like 10-30min drive away and still live on campus.

but anyways, my dorms were pathetic, we each had our own rooms, and bathrooms in an apartment, 4 per apt. so no sense of community.
it was fun for a while but then study>fun for me now. gotta get into grad school/med school
