Well I started college Monday this week, its going well. Im doing first summer session at Ohio University. I'm undecided atm but want to major in some type of cumputer/technology major. I was really thinking about telecommunications. Since I'm only doing 1 summer session and not the second summer session its like half of a quarter, about five weeks long.
Atm I'm taking
Graphics of Communication- Class that uses InDesign software to create various graphical art. InDesign is like Photoshop and Publisher had a baby. lol.. So this is basically a graphic designer class.
Fundamentals of Human Communication- Class that shows you importantance of communication, language barriers of different cultures, and the differences of different cultures and how that affects conversation.
And
Just a learning seminar class that all summer freshman have to take.
So, any of you guys just starting? If so what are you doing??
Taking intro to philosophy and drawing 1 (its very basic and slow but all the other classes dealing with photoshop n stuff were taken)

Freshmen Late Short Summer Session at Georgia Institute of Technology. Started on Monday, Introduction to Sociology and History of the United States Since 1877 (it's mandatory).
I'm majoring in Computer Science, aiming at foundations/mathematics and a bit of databases and networking.
Just registered, partially, for fall classes. Calculus 1, Introduction to Computer Science, and Computer Science Freshman Leap Seminar. Wasn't really able to register for anything else. Freshmen register later than returning students and 75% of classes are closed or only bad times are available... and Introduction to Physics I and English Literature and Composition I didn't let me register at all. Neither did Learning, Communications, and Culture (some other mandatory course).
I just finished selecting and registering for my courses at Carleton University. My god, it was so stressing, it was difficult just getting everything to fit in together without any overlaps. I'll be starting on September 10th

Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could
I just got my books and scheduled my classes yesterday for PSU- I'm majoring in IST and minoring in Professional Writing. The ironic part is I took the placement test and my math scores were really low (and I mean low) but my English/Grammar/Writing/Comprehension scores were off the chart, so to say. I think I might want to change my major
Kidding, I don't think I would. I think I'm going to wait at least through this year to do that if I'm going to. I'd really miss databasing and such if I did, and I love it.
Anyway, I'm starting August 23...I think. 24th? It's a Monday, in any case. I'm taking Spanish I, Intro C++ Programming (my friend took this last year- I'm pretty sure I already know most of it, although I'm not to heavy with C++, regrettably), Economic Geography (for fun ), College Algebra I (hurray I suck!), IST Seminar, Introduction to Information Systems, and English 30T (Honors English for freshmen).
I'm commuting from home since the college is only fifteen minutes from my house, probably just for the first two years, and I'm going to be looking in to a Drama Club or something of that nature. And I still need to get a job. Bleh. It's impossible getting a job around here unless you having prior working experience- they simply won't hire you. I'm hoping to work on campus as a help desk consultant, and if not, there's only one place I haven't applied to within twenty miles of my house and that's Target (which I'd really like to work at, but they won't accommodate my school schedule).
I finished up my undergrad with a BA in English in May, and at the end of August I start graduate school at the University of Notre Dame for an MFA in Poetry.
Not sure what my class load will be yet, though from what I've heard 2 classes per term is considered full-time for graduate school. I'll be doing at least 3 workshops as well as working on a creative dissertation (book-length volume of poetry, basically).
I'm actually moving up to campus about a week before classes start, pretty excited about that
I'm gonna start in October, if not a bit earlier. I'm gonna be majoring in Medical Lab Technology. It's something I'd really love to delve into. The problem is that we've had quite a fucking shitty Chemistry teacher for the last two years, so I'm hoping this won't effect me much in university.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

My college is considered hard... taking more than 4 core classes is considered suicide. In fact, my advisor urged me to take 3... I'm taking Calc-Engl-German-Main CS class + Some small CS class. 17 hours, out of maximum 21. So technically it's 5 but nobody considers the freshman leap seminar since it's only once a week for 50 minutes anyway. >>
Only 4, really? I need 5 courses per semester: Physics I, Biology I, General Chemistry, Psychology I and Linear Algebra/Elementary Calculus (I have one in the first semester, the other in the next), and I have the "II" courses in my second semester. Ohhhhh I just can't wait for university *shudders with complete excitement*

but i am going to be down in minneapolis going to minneapolis community and technical college for software development. i still need to do alot of stuff. housing and job mostly
the funny thing is i got 2 friends, 1 is going for video game design at itt tech, and my other friend is doing general programming somewhere else. so we decided to start our own video game company. haha
I wish I could only take three units at once, but I don't want to get behind everyone else in my course. There's only 38 of us, and we are all pretty close, all in it together kind of thing. I don't want to graduate a year later from them.
Oh, here's a little story for you:
I failed a core unit in first year, first semester. The transition from highschool to university was rough, I had such a hard time, very depressing. But guess how I failed the unit? I handed in one of the assignments in late, therefore it scored a zero. It was worth 60%, so I failed the unit overall. I had to repeat that unit again just recently, but in order to do so, I had to overload and do 5 units (subjects/classes) at once, and all the previous work I did for that unit was completely useless because they changed the assessment criteria.

Yeah, and you're not in Georgia Institute of Technology. Dunno about Atrumentis (he's not in the USA, workload may differ).
People fail physics (Electromagnetism) here.
3 times in a row. They call it emag, re-mag, and three-mag. Most people graduate in 5-6 years rather than 4. Even if they do the summer semester every year. And a pretty big percentage just drops out in 2 years.
The faculty guys are douches, they are not helpful whatsoever, and I had no idea what I had to do to save myself from repeating it. I tried emailing people and they just sent me generic responses that didn't answer my questions at all. If they were on this forum, I would have perm banned them for being a spam bot. Anyway, its over now! Just don't make my mistake.

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
I've applied to a position as Master of Science in Engineering. We'll see how that goes, I'm still a bit unsure if it was the right choice.
I'm half way through my second year, and half way through my whole course ^^ (BFA Film & Television), so I guess I don't really count for this thread
