Well I was wondering if anyone here has ever had sleep paralysis. For those of you who dont know....
Sleep paralysis is a common condition characterized by transient partial or total paralysis of skeletal muscles and areflexia that occurs upon awakening from sleep or less often while falling asleep. Stimuli such as touch or sound may terminate the episode, which usually has a duration of seconds to minutes. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move. In addition, the state may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations
Sleep paralysis frequently effects me and has been occuring more and more frequently lately to the point where i am afraid to go to sleep. (Hence why I am awake at 3:00 A.M)
I had an episode this morning at around 6 A.M. Where I thought I woke up, but I was still sleeping. I looked over at my piano and it was playing by itself. Then in my dream/hallucination i tried to go back to sleep, but I then felt a presence right near the bed, but no matter what I couln't move. I woke up terrified about 20 seconds later with my heart racing.
An episode I had a few months ago happened at 4 in the morning. I was again having a dream/hallucination that I woke up on my bathroom floor by banging my head on the cabinets. Then I got up and saw myself sleeping on the couch. Then I tried shaking myself to wake up. Again I felt completely paralyzed but was able to be conciously aware of what was going on. Finally, after about 20 seconds of trying desperately to wake up and become unparalyzed... I did....but was unable to go back to sleep after the episode.
Well, so i'm not the only one. I used to have that often. And all i could think of that that time is that if someone could just move me a little.
The more force you apply to move your body the more stiff it gets.
A horrible condition.

Yeah. Right before I wake up I feel like im moving back and forth to wake myself up but when I actually do wake up im completely still...meaning I was just hallucinating/dreaming that I was rolling back and forth trying to wake up.
Um... I think I've gotten something a little like that. Sometimes when I wake up suddenly and try to fall back to sleep, well, it's rather hard to explain...
It's like my brain is sucking in on itself and (as was written earlier) it becomes harder for me to move and harder for me to try and get myself out of it the longer I wait. At first, it feels strangely good, like (for lack of a better term) an orgasm in my head or something, but after a little bit it starts to hurt, really badly- like someone is taking a flag pole and jamming it in to my brain.
I never experienced hallucinations, though, except once when I was at my grandparents house. There's actually an interesting story behind that, but I don't feel like explaining it.
Its like i can see everything happen around me and i feel like i'm dead and my soul will come out. Sometimes i get scared and try to move every part of my body.
[All that moves is my penis {lol, no, nothing moves, its a joke}]
Does anyone hear a beeping sound while Sleep paralysis?

Hope you enjoyed that post.
I dont feel any pain or anything that is considered "good." It is extremly extremly terrifying. I dont think I ever had what you had with the head thing. I have heard some things that feel like are in my head during sleep paralysis. Like either a deep voice or whisper.
I thought I had a deep whisper one time with a presence by the couch during the middle of the day when I was taking a nap. I couldn't move at all and was absolutely terrified to move because I felt like if I turned around there would be something standing right next to me. So it took me a little while to wake up.
Man no pain for me either. Its like i lose all sense of feeling and all that works in my body is my eyes [vision] i can't even speak at that time.

I think theres a solid chance I have it tonight. I drank a lot of caffeine tonight and I was stressed all day at class... Had to do work all day, had a test, took a midafternoon nap for about 3 hours because the sleep paralysis i had this morning kept me from getting a good night's sleep. Been really dilerious for most of the night. Sucks.
For the most part all the cases are very similar. It was quite comforting to find out that a majority of the people who suffered from sleep paralysis had the same symptoms as I did. Some people who suffer from severe narcolepsy (spelling?) have episodes for hours and are unable to wake up even when people try to wake them up.
I usually dont drink caffeine. And by drinking caffeine i mean i had one diet coke zero.

I did have it...But I am a weirdo sleeper..Thought I had narcolopsy cuz I always slept in the day time and was up at night and was very very tired all the time. Got it checked out, they said I have a mild case of it but my family doctor didnt want to perscribe the pills to me cuz they are like speed and e which he says are too dangerous...(I found either quite fun in my teens....lol)
Anyways..I wake up in the middle of the night and do very very weird stuff like talk about random stuff, talk in another language, act possessed...blah...

I enjoy it sometimes, cuz it creeps people out...My friend was sleeping over and listening to the DOOM soundrack by NIN in the dark and he dropped his headphones. When he got up and looked to his right I was staring him straight into the eye not even 1 inch away from his face and then I just fell backwards back to sleep....LOL fun times.
