Didn't we already know all this? Didn't Mike Morhaime or someone say that the fees Jay was talking about only applied to stuff like changing your character's realm or name?
No. It was hinted at in several reports vaguely mentioning that fees *might* only apply to small things like name changes or such. It was not confirmed, however, the status of a Battle.net fee for normal use. That is why it's been reported all over the place.
You might be confusing it with the very logical and well-founded posts of many fans deducing that it would logically be free, but no, it was never stated so until now.

Not that I was strongly one way or the other, but I'm glad that Battle.net will be free
If they do introduce micro-payments then I hope they don't have any effect on gameplay, as that would create an imbalanced playing field between people who pay and people who don't. I would rather have 100% of people paying than it being imbalanced by optional paying
An imbalance is inevitable with the invention of ebay and all. I'm on the non-paying player side and of course don't like this, but what can we do?
Do you have tangible evidence to support that claim, links, and quotes?
I don't stash hundreds of links just to be able to "prove" something to people who don't follow the news. Two people told you that already, what more do you need? Look for it yourself...
It's something that has been posted on DFans at one point or another anyway - I get all my news here. So you should know.
And part for being fast on deleting excellent on-topic posts that disagree with your personal opinion, you are not really doing your job tracking the news, got it.
The original full interview (which I can't find now) is from October '08. Thanks to the idiot who gave me negative rep because of "bluffing". Maybe you will learn to check on news in the future before mod-trolling people who know more than you do.
I rather just have a P2P server. This way I have less spammers to deal with and less kids to deal with. Just my option. I would be willing to pay a extra 10 bucks a month on to my wow monthly fee for this. A account that never dies charter that are guarantee to be safe. Customer service when i needed help in game. I personally never like F2P servers. Always sucked for me. The cheaters and the people who join a game just to mess it up. Hope they do charge a fee for more option like booting people or private games. More control over hosted games.
What about DIII i hope it isnt P2P (for those who dont know: P2P=Pay to play)
ive been looking forward to it lol ive bought tons of copies of DII:LoD battlechest
at my local wally world but i think P2P is going to far
i mean im only 15 and if DIII is p2p that means i have to get a job
