Why does everyone want the necro assin an druid back? They had to be the slowest killing chars in the game. An would explain y they were always the last class to have a 99 and were the classes with the fewest 99's. If were going back to 5 classes do it old school. barb sorcs pally amazon an sure replace the necro with the witch doctor. Thats been the weakest char outa the 5 (except for hc cuz they never die) an besides that zombie wall will kick the crap out of any skill the necro had.
Because they were fun to play? The assassin was more than just a click fest, the druid was very versatile, and the necro... well he was just fun. The game isn't really about "who can get to 99 first", it is about fun and story (at least from Bliz's end).
The problem with the "rush to 99" ethic is that it destroys creative builds, which makes the game less fun as a whole. Bliz has always had the "cookie cutter" build problem (at least in D2 and WoW), and I really hope they fix it for D3. They should find a way to eliminate "easy" builds that only rely on one skill to play.
That said, and to move back on topic; I agree with the majority. There probable will be a Rogue-ish class (perhaps merging in assasin skills), a Paladin class (which will never be balanced, see their other paladin classes for example), and a Sorcerer/ess class. This goes without doubt.
The only thing I'm wondering about is the trees. I'm guessing that the Barb has some druid spells now (it makes sense from a Lore perspective), and that the Rogue/Amazon has some assasin spells (for us melee-ers, and makes sense from a gameplay sense).
I just wish they would scrap the silly Paladin idea, they never impliment them properly, and they always rather suck. I never got the point. In the hundereds of hours I playerd D2:LOD, I've gotten a Pally up to around 20. In the hundereds of hours of WoW, I got a pally to about 20. I always quit, they are no fun.
necro and pally are sweet, however I am sure people will find the all-new class's to be far better, once they get used to them, mancers and dins will be a thing of the past.
I don't care for the barb returning if the others are not though.
I seriously doubt that majority of the classes are coming back and if the do, then they will be completely different. For instance maybe a sorc that uses natural elements like wind, earth and water.
one idea I came across was that there could be a monk character that would not heal, I highly doubt it but it is a possibility.
"I will give you my blessing," the demon croaked..."And then... I will dine on your entrails and drink your blood from a cup fashioned from your fragile skull..."
But but but there's already a paladin class in WoW, wouldn't it make D3 more WoWish.
i hate you WoW freaks! agreed its fun and whatever but Paladin was a class in Diablo way before WoW was created. the same company makes Diablo and Warcraft so you will find similarities GET OVER IT!!!
Besides the fact ANY game with demons, creatures and heroes in this genre will have a Paladin. Cmon, a single game doesn't have any imagined rights to a class. That's like saying one game is ripping off another because it's using a knight or a theif.
I'm sure that any characters they bring over WILL be very different. Just based on what we've seen in the barbarian powerset, he has ranged and PBAoE attacks while using a melee weapon.
How much different could the necro be in comparison to the witch doctor? Blizzard said a few times now that they do not want overlapping characters and it seems to me that they have very similar play styles and skill trees.
So far, this what what we know and a few possibilites regarding the remaining character classes. Most of all, I hope the Druid returns, however that is just my honest opinion.[ quote]
i hope the druid returns too i think he could have cool looking spells better than D2 Expan.

Omfg.. are people still going on about WoW? Actually the paladin was in d2 and many games before WoW you retard.. Why does that matter at all... Both games are by Blizzard and kick ass, you just sound rediculously childish.

I still believe there will be an aura based class or something else that stacks buffs. Since this is a party based co-op game. You may need multiple classes with overlapping buffs So it kinda forces you to play with friends.
And I believe you're a fat overweight cunt who got a boner at the sight of diablo3, fucking pre pubescent rat prick probably never got a char into the 90's never mind got off single player you fucking coon

I don't think they'll bring back the Paladin. They already brought back the Barb and there's only 3 more classes remaining. Ah heck you never know, right? But didn't Blizzard say they didn't want to bring back D2 characters? I'm not sure. Maybe the barb was an exception because he was a popular favorite.
I can see a class that gives a lot of buffs, like the paladin, but isn't a paladin. Lol. I'm sure the remaining classes must be a ranged attacker and a magic based one. But are totally different from their predecessors, Just like the Witch Dotor is from the Necromancer. Maybe even another melee character that's a lot different from the barb, like the assassin. What other type of class could there be? Not class but... fighting style.
how could adding a paladin class make it WoWish?
have you ever played diablo 2?
they had the paladin class first.
and im not for the numbers showing up on every attack
that makes Diablo III more WoWish

and there wont be much use for healing spells unless you're in a boss battle since they have the red orbs now
