I understand that this was from last year, but i doubt that BlizzCon wasn't planned ahead of time.
Diablo 3 was going to be announced last year, but they later pulled it when they had to scrap what they where working on at Blizzard North.
Again this information is way old and in no way refers to this years Blizzcon or WWI.
However Blizzard is smart and intelligent in the way they market and sell there games, which is why there is so much support from everyone that this will be a Starcraft product. D3 will come.. one way or another. But I and 75% of the Blizzfan population believes it will be Starcraft based.
I too think it will be SC2 at WWI and if it is D3 I will shit my pants from excitement and surprise. However, I still just have to wait till may 19th to know if I'm gonna need a new pair of pants (as well as undies).
BTW, I found that the information I posted was about the BlizzCon supposed to happen the year Blizz North closed (this site http://www.rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9145) My bad guys, should have looked a little closer into the info I posted. SRY.

If you all are still sitting here trying to speculate what is inevitable, you are all stupid, I like you all, but it is stupid for this to continue in any way of trying to figure out what will happen because as Ive said, Korea is a Starcraft-oreinted fanbase, US is Diablo-oriented fanbase- Which means:
STARCRAFT WILL BE ANNOUNCED MAY 19TH IN KOREA
DIABLO 3 WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN AMERICA AT BLIZZCON.

I doubt a world wide convention will be Held in America. =) An event that is trying to attract from a worldly scale will not be sucessfull in their home land. (where other than the place the Air one of their titles on TV)
There is still no Link.. All you people did is take the most logical, obvious, realistic idea and put all your money on it.. It makes you feel comfortable to do that. But It isn't true.
Did Blizzard say it was Starctaft? No. =)
Blizzard is huge now. It really doesn't matter where they announce what... These arent the D1, Warcraft days.
Though i may (alright, am) stating the obvious, people shouldn't get disappointed if SC2 is announced in Korea and not D3 as Blizzard has clearly pointed out that they have more than one project going on unrelated to WoW (*sigh of relief). There is plenty of hope for D3 if it is not announced in May. My top post shows that D3 is definitely(DEFINITELY) not dead.
That's right, most of the argument here is what game will be announced in Korea, not which game they're working on. It's possible for them to work on both D3 and SC2, but it is unlikely that both will be announced on May, and as such people are split as to whether it is D3 or SC2. Personally I just want to know right now.

=) Thats the thing..
My argument Isnt that its going to be Diablo. It's not even that It isn't going to be Starcraft.
Im Nutral with no facts present leading me to think other wise... I think it in all probubility will be Starcraft, But I also think It will Most likely will be Diablo, or another Series...
I dunno I guess it is Starcraft territory so it will probably be that...The only thing I don't want is Blizzard worrying about console gamers before us PC gamers...That would piss me off. I am Hoping for D3 but if Starcraft comes it wouldn't hurt my feelings as long as it's for PC..But if they even announce WoW going to the Xbox I am selling my WoW account and I will never buy another Blizzard game..They have made so much money off of WoW it is sickening and I have to say WoW if any game in the game world is worth paying 15 dollars a month for if you are in a good guild and raid alot. I just hope that all of us gamers that loves what Blizzard does and has supported them doesn't get let down..Hoping for D3 but if SC comes I will play it as long as it's a PC strategy game
Ok guy, I don't feel "comfortable" saying that, Im saying what very logical, more logical then any ideas you've had to say whatsoever. If you look at what facts what do have, we see this
Blizzard has a convention in Korea May 19th
Blizzard has Blizzard Convention This Summer.
Blizzard has announced they are going to announce a new game on the 19th in Korea
Korea is Starcraft's largest fanbase, so much that they play Starcraft live on TV
The comments by Blizzard employees point to both SC2 and D3
There hasnt been a new Starcraft game for ten years
There hasnt been a new Diablo game in six years
Three titles are in the works, all unannounced
If they didnt plan to announce Starcraft in Korea, that would be a poor poor move, considering There hasnt been one for 10 years, The largest, massive Starcraft fanbase is in Korea, and as even alot on here have said, they would not be dissapointed with a new game- imagine the koreans. theyre all crazzzzy estatic. really, Blizzards comments, theyre actions, It's going to be Starcraft, and maybe, just maybe, itll be Diablo as well, because its"world wide" but, I seriously doubt it, I think It'll be Starcraft at Korea and Diablo 3 at Blizzcon

there are many that wouldnt agree. Especially Diablo has very little to do with the real rpgs (see Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment etc). Diablo is more of a fast, extremely fun kill'em all game with some character customization (thats why we all love it). There's no real "role playing" in it, though. And even though WoW doesnt include too much role play either (except on the RP servers maybe) its a completely different kind of game, since its multiplayer based. A singleplayer Diablo (with coop options) wouldnt compete with an MMO. Blizzard knows it, just as much as everyone else does.

personally, I highly doubt it is a new Diablo game. I'd love it if it was, but I don't think it is a new Diablo.
Diablo has always been a RPG. WoW is a RPG. If they make a new Diablo game, it will mean that Blizzard has two rivaling games, both aiming for somewhat the same kind of people.
But it would be smart to have rivaling games as Blizzard would get two different groups of gamers to play possibly doubling their money.

It just doesnt work like that, if it did then why would Blizzard be so big and have so many games in development? (they said they have 5 titles in mind).
What Blizzard is going for is as many gamers possible and they cant do that with WoW alone.
You think Blizzard is just waiting to make a game or release it cause WoW is doing good? Thats just naive because time is pressure even for Blizzard (it doesnt look that way cause Blizzard is extremely secretive), they need to think about releasing there games when there done that are currently in development and they cant afford to not announce there games soon.
If they have ambitions to interest people in buying there games (even WoW) then they need to make some BIG announcements soon.
It doesnt matter for WoW if one of does BIG announcements is D3 because the more people who are interested in Blizzard the more people that will buy there games.
Its really just simple marketing and sure we know Blizzard is a quality company from games like Diablo and Starcraft but the more people that know this the more people who are going to be interested in WoW.
I fully agree. If they didn't release the game because of WoW's success, the expansions would not be coming out every year or so.
Still, it doesn't matter. You guys can speculate and speculate but still wont be able to come to any conclusion. We just have to wait 16 more days until we can find out for sure.

"I'm like a dog chasing cars." - Joker, Dark Knight
The argument with WoW and Diablo having conflictions is not true.Sure they both require alot of time to be successful and I'm sure they will make the next Diablo to use more time then just repeating the same dungeons/bosses as before. I have played WoW since the first month but I have to say I am more of a Diablo fan. If they would have made a World of Diablo people would have went nuts even more then WoW. WoW is a beautiful game all around. So the big factor is would WoW loose players to Diablo? Of course it would. I would drop WoW in a heartbeat to play Diablo. Now depending on how they make the game will say how long I will play it. If they made it like WoW and constantly added new Dungeons and Quests I would never stop playing it. I have played WoW soooo much I have a fuckin calus on my wrist from resting it on my fucking desk lol. But for those of you who have said Blizzard will loose players it depends how they make Diablo. If they go for World of Diablo they will gain more accounts because people will drop all the other games like guild wars and everquest...To play WoD..If they make it like all the other Diablo games they will loose a ton of accounts for sure but they will also sell a fuckton of Diablo games so all and all they aren't going to loose. If it's like all the other Diablo games people will play Diablo hard for at least a year and go back to WoW. Blizzard isn't going to LOOSE any way that they make Diablo. Diablo had 18 million sales for D2 WoW has 8 Million. So no matter how they decide to make it it's going to be the best selling game of all time. Guaranteed...They aren't going to loose on making a D3.
Blizzards goal with WoW is to make as much money as they can before it dies. Ultima and Everquest, both successful MMO's during their times but not at all on par with WoW's popularity, are still going, and so WoW probably has several years of life expectancy left. Blizzard will not want to lose gamers to other games during this period, especially not to their own franchises.
Thus they will not release a new MMO while WoW is still going strong, for the sole reason that few people have the time to invest in two MMO's, much less the will to pay for two monthly fees.
Would a D3 take players from WoW though? Not in any substantial amount, so long as D3 isn't an MMO. If people aren't required to pay a regular fee for D3, they can buy it and then play it whenever they want, thus they can mix and match with WoW simultaneously.
Secondly, people that would play D3 so much that they wouldn't have time for WoW are a small minority and wouldn't affect Blizzard's current subscribers to any large extent.
Besides, there is no place for logic here.
That is complete nonsense. Logic always applies to all situations.

gyrextt you seem to argue that because it's in Korea in which the game will be annouced that it doesn't nessearily mean it will be Starcraft, that people are jumping to conclusions and all we know is they're annouceing a game, it could be any game.
This is a very narrow minded view, or very opening minded which ever side of the coin you're looking at.
In my mind the only one that really matters, you're not looking at the whole picture you may say you're but it's clearly not the case, Korea is Starcraft if you knew anything about the game you'd understand that and if they where ever going to annouce Starcraft 2 it would be there, coming to the 10 year anniversaty of Starcraft they now annouce this bombshell of May 19th, my reaction I only wish I could place a bet on it being SC 2 I'd quite simply put my house on it.
Added to this there is reports coming from Blizz-Korea that it's going to be SC 2 as well as numerous other leaks, everything absolutely everything points to a Starcraft release, of course you can be stubborn for the sake of the Internet and stick to your guns, but deep down I think you wouldn't put money on your convictions.
But if you do truely think it's going to be anything other than Starcraft 2 I'd ask you to take your blinkers off.

My intention is to make you all aware that this will be a starcraft release, and that you diablo players need to make do with WoW and Burning Crusade as those are the next gen of Diablo games.
