I haven't read any of the books before. Should I start with Legacy of Blood? Will not have reading the Sin War books affect my knowledge of any of them?
The other books have little bearing on the Sin War trilogy. They merely compliment them. You could read them in any given order as well. It's only the Sin War trilogy that you really wanna read straight through.

The Black Road is actually quite good when you get into it, it's better than Kingdom of Shadows imo and it's also more dramatic.
bullhonky, besides the sin war the kingdom of shadow is my favorite knack attack

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I've read almost all the Knack books, I just have one stand-alone left. I would've read Black Road too, but I just couldn't get into it. I think Odem has trouble starting his books, because you had to "get into" the HGL books too, but once you were in they were quite good.

Just so you're aware in the future, thread necromancy (reviving a months-old thread) is normally frowned upon, here.
You've had the archive all this time, and you haven't started, yet?
If you're still confused about where to start, take a look at this. It lists the books in chronological order, according to when the individual stories took place in the overall time-line.
In that chronology, the Sin War trilogy predates the stories included in the archive.
Chill out man. It's not like there is any big news on the front page of the forums anyway that I would be taking away from, and starting a new topic is also looked down upon even more.
As for the archives.
I have been at college and haven't had the time (or the rep to be caught holding a diablo book lol), but I thought I would sit down for a nice read during my winter break and I didn't get any definitive answers earlier...
Settle down, sir. I could have locked the thread if I was going to do anything.
As it was, all I was doing was informing you of forum policy, for future reference.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the books. I think Demonsbane is my favorite of the bunch, so far (I haven't finished them, yet, either).
I was thinking about starting with demonsbane because it's so short and it's the first chronologically of the four.
Either way it won't really matter I think. As has been stated, they're not linked to each other story-wise, so you can't go rwong no matter in which order you read them.
Moon of the Spider however, should you buy it, probably would be a better read if you've finished Kingdom of Shadow.

Why would you not read it? If you really want to, you can leave it till last. But since you already have it and paid for it, you may as well read it.
