I plan on rushing HC and being the first HC player to reach and beat Inferno. I've taken a month off of work (25 days of saved up Vacation time!), plan on playing 70-90 hours at launch and 12-16 hours every day for the next month.
I'm looking for a party member or two who's planning on investing as much time in HC mode as I am as a consistent party will likley make their way to Inferno faster and safer than a solo player.
If there are no takers now I'll check again around the end of April.

Yea the difficulty post 13 is pretty ominous, although I was able to check out the festering woods and the fields of misery for the day the waypoints were available. The charging boars and a few of the other enemy abilities was a bit of an eye opener, I'm definately going to have to play cautiously.
Definitely interested in finding solid partners for hardcore. Solid meaning reasonably emotionally stable, mature, and heavily seasoned in hardcore gaming.
I think people will realize soon after release that success in Hardcore is going to be all about who you have at your side. Hit me up. I doubt you'll be able to invest more time in this game than I will

To Jay Wilson and everyone else: Diablo 3 can be competitive without being an E-Sport.
I don't understand the question, we're all new to Diablo 3. I'm in the D3 Beta and I've played a little bit of Diablo 1 but really got into the series at Diablo 2. I basically played for 6 years straight beginning in the open D2 Beta (So I've played a ton of Diablo 2)
I don't think a "Pro Diablo" player exists, but I've played D2 HC exclusively since about 2 months after the release of the original Diablo 2. I've also been at the top of several HC ladder resets before I had to dedicate less time due to work combined with the inability to compete with bots and players with obviously duped gear. In addition I think it's important to note that I've always been a 100% legitimate player, never used map hacks, chicken hacks, speed hacks or anything like that. I've never even traded for obviously duped equipment which means I've never had high end runeword gear like an Enigma, BoTD, infinity etc.
One thing I've learned over years of gaming is not to let your schedule dictate who you play with. There's absolutely no reason not to develop a large network of friends and play with whoever is available at the times you're able to play. It's definitely better than being forced into pugging with retards every time you log on, especially if those retards can cost you your character. Pugging will probably be a death sentence in high level hardcore play, making a large network of hardcore players invaluable to success.

Huh? Your schedule is pretty much the main determining factor in who you play with, you can't really play with people who don't line up with your schedule (ie you can't play with people who typically play while you are at work). I think I know what you're trying to say though. i've got 4 responses from my request (which I've put on on various forums) but I'm not forcing myself to play with these people, if they become a liability I will drop them. I'm half expecting to lose a few of them before the game even launches (they don't respond or something will come up preventing them from putting the said time in), and half expecting to lose a few of them on the way to Inferno.
I have also learned to let your in game experience figure out viable people to play with, it's a lot easier to find people that match with your schedule/skill level by joining public games, it's easy enough to filter people out.
The main reason for doing what I'm doing though is to find a few people who will be balls out from the start like me because there will be very few to find publicly. I'd rather try and find a couple and run with em from the start as it will increase our chances of success but I'm also partially expecting to be soloing come day 3 and 4 because I don't think most people can actually stay awake past 48 hours.
If it all works then great, if not I'll be soloing my way to Inferno!
Well, I will play extremely cautiously, if other players are bad they will get themselves killed so HC mode is it's own vetting system Aside from that the first run-through is in normal mode so it's theoretically pretty easy, if someone's bad it'll show on the first playthrough and I will make adjustments
I'd also like to add that your tactic of playing a 70-90 hour block might not be too advisable depending on your body. I know for one that I can't sustain peak concentration for more than about 12 hours or so
I've done several 72 hour ladder reset Marathons for Diablo 2. Not only were they 72 hour long Marathons, but it was HC mode (So I had to be aware all the time), and I was manually 2 boxing (2 computers, 2 keyboards 2 mice) which for the majority of the time meant a mouse in the left and a mouse in the right hand controlling 2 different characters. Got me #1 and #2 on the ladder for the first week If anyone was curious I did the runs with my cousin who plays a sorc, I 2 box a barb and nec. So yea, I'll be fine concentrating for 72 hours, it's the 72-96 that I'm worried about
I can recommend you check out www.diablo-guilds.com. Seems to be alot of HC players and Guilds there.
Created an account under a different name just so you could post that, eh? LAWL....

OK so you didn't JUST NOW create that account, but that reveals another marketing tactic. Make a bunch of ghost accounts all at once so that at a later day (like today) you can use it to shamelessly plug your website in these forums and not get banned for spamming. Smart! /highfive!
I'll join for some of it if possible. My classes will be done for a while, I took a week off from work to play nonstop, my gf is supporting the habit(cooking dinner etc, yay!). The only catch is I only ordered the CE edition so I have to wait till best buy opens after initial launch. I played d1/d2 for well over 6 years, almost all on hardcore. Played lots of PvP on HC in edition to PvM. My best ladder run was #1 on uswest for a few days before work/botters got the best of me, was level 79 and at hell baal at the end of day 1. Not sure what class I intend to open with.

Thanks!
That is what I call dedication. wow.
It'll be exciting either way!

I think it's like SC2 so I will be on the America's server (if East and West I'll be on West)

Americas/USWest as I mentioned above
