You keep proving my point, Phrozen. MP is not SP. They are separate. And a game is defined by one that is dominant. Rarely, the game is defined by both separate from each other. Still defined by one of. If a game is not fit for SP, it's not fit for SP, that's all. Hellgate is two different games in one, I guess.
P.S.: I can't play this boring game any longer. *deletes Two Worlds of the hard drive* Thank God for torrent.
No, only to play multiplayer. And the fact that a regular MMO only offers multiplayer of that kind doesn't change anything.
If they are defined by which is dominant, then does that mean that all games that are heavier towards multiplayer are MMO's, or that there is a third category? And if there is a third category, what separates that one from MMO's?
I've never played Phantasy Star Online, just how were the multiplayer aspects?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
No, Phrozen. Games like Quake are mult dominant, and games of the types are called Arenas. FarCry is SP dominant but it has arena gameplay, but since it's SP domintant it's just a shooter of whatever category. StarCraft is two games in one if you ask me, but it's mult dominant so it's a multiplayer strategy or whatever.

The difference here and why you don't see it as a thinning is that, because unlike me, you do not view it as either an MMO or a non-MMO.

I would say that the storyline part sort of didn't engage. It all seems pointless. Almost no one gives quests, the setup seems boring... the main line doesn't engage, either.
In addition to that, inventory limit is a drag. Combat is annoying, whether or not do I have an uber hammer, just annoying, I don't know what it is, but killing packs of wolves without getting hit is impossible = no combat control. So you are, like, just recharging yourself with potions all the time. Gothic combat ftw. Skills are too passive to care. The fact that there are three different types of armor/weapons is kind of pointless because it really doesn't matter much. You won't be carrying around 6 different types of apparell, anyway. The area is kind of copy-paste looking. Graphics of the environment suck, as I have said before, and they look really bad compared to the detailed hero and detailed objects.

I have little to no trouble killing wolves. My quest book is full. What game are you playing? I don't think you played it very much.
I'll get some screenshots here shortly straight from my system.

I only stopped having trouble killing wolves when I got a 70-100 hammer which killed one wolf per hit. And that is after a few hours. Until then, I can't go anywhere, those damn boars/wolves are everywhere!
Dunno, hardly found anyone to work with. In the first village, some two guys gave me regular quests, except I never found the moon crystal because I don't know where that other village is. Another guy wanted me to turn that teleporter on. After that, I wandered to another village. Found three quests in there. And I got a horse from some guy somewhere. But three quests per village, considering that there is a maximum of ten villages/towns on the map... or is the world bigger than that? Seems really small.
Well, I really didn't play it much, but it really annoyed me. I started over because my other character was experimental, but then I kept running into those damn wolves/boars and it annoyed the hell out of me. They are EVERYWHERE. You suggest I give it another try, maybe? I would want to know where the boundary for leveling is. Like, I had 61/61/61 armor, is that tiny compared to the world, or isn't it?
EDIT: I get the same graphics. I consider them weaker than Oblivion. Difference of opinion, I guess. I prefer Gothic 3 graphics, anyway. http://www.ag.ru/screenshots/gothic_3/185762
Also, do you know how to make a weapon (like a bow), secondary? I have to go to my inventory to change from bow to melee. Or how to use those active slots at the left-bottom corner?
If I were you, I'd give it another shot. When you can't find where to complete a quest, use the map. Zoom out and wherever there is a glowing dot is where there is a quest. The moon crystal is pretty far east.
As for the 61, 61, 61 defense, that's pretty low. Don't forget to stack items. I won't deny that the boars are a nuisance but I don't have too much of a problem with them. I think there is more on the map than when you first look at it. Things are discovered like Oblivion.
Did they ever patch Gothic 3 to fix all the clipping and graphical bugs? I have it but I never got into it.
I haven't tried using a bow so I don't know how to quick swap them. I abandoned it for now to rebeat StarCraft and Brood War.
Sorry, I read something about that at ag.ru, so I really don't know because ag.ru is the slowest site ever and I really don't feel like going there... I suppose it is in the works. In any case, Gothic 3 is better optimised than Two Worlds, I got a much better picture in Gothic... besides, the Two World's policy to blur far textures is gay, they should have left the option to make them crisp at a distance.
nah, Gothic 3 is for PC only as far as i know. But they started developing it counting that the technology would do a leap forward. But it didnt (that said in the "making of Gothic 3 booklet from my collectors edition). I consider my system normal and it runs Gothic 3 with medium details without many issues (except when i use dual flaming swords, ouch). Very interesting game.
Well, I thought, someone will finally make decent horses. Nah. I don't understand. If you can't make normal horse control, just steal M&B horse control! Jeez.
Two World's horses are OK in terms of simulation. They gradually speed up, and once they start galloping it's harder to control them. But. There is almost no places where you can drive a horse without getting stuck! It gets stuck EVERYWHERE. If there is a slight elevation effect, if there is something raised, the horse would just stop. Then, you will spend a few minutes trying to get it moving again. It keeps bugging and everything. The only place where you can ride properly are the roads. But even there, beware of elevations...
No, didn't I say that I was talking about horses in particular? Horses suck. There were no bugs or problems with anything else. Which is kind of strange.

Now, you said you deleted the game. Did it get worse, or did it simply not improve?

I heard they had a super patch in the works but I didn't hear anything about the expansion. Any links or details?

No, it's PC only.
Speaking of screens, maybe...
