Legacy of Blood is written in tangent of the game, innit?
the Sin War trilogy is before Diablo I.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Legacy of Blood takes place not long before the Wanderer reachers Lut Gholein.
exactly my point, it runs in tangent or along side the storyline for Diablo II

The scene inside the Arcane Sanctuary is really cool.
Yeah Harozon had a brother and Harozon was still alive <_< so weird. Well, I didn't know there were 4, but I will have to find it. Well, I just thought it might go on when the third book does it. My bets it will be on the 3rd-4th book or on the sin wars.
I wish there was more information about the false Summoner who took up residence after the Sanctuary was breached. I know that supposedly it's supposed to be the Sorcerer from the first game, but it's interesting by the end of that quest in Act II, because everyone admits they aren't sure who that Summoner was.

Whats cool is, the countess quest (fourth or something quest) is based on a real life thing. :]
i remember something vaguely about andariel being similar to messed up woman i read about, the real woman actually bathed in virgins blood because she thought it kept her looking beautiful.
EDIT...
o here we go check this out this tells all about it.
isnt there an evil dwarf in some game or moive called Dorko?

The Countesses presence in the Forgotten Tower seems to predate Andariel arriving at Sanctuary. Cause it seems like a long time ago that she got holed up in that place.
However, Andariel, and the Rogue's corruption seemed to be happening fairly recently by the time Diablo II starts. So to me, the Countess sort of seemed like this evil being by herself. Even though she appears as one of the Corrupted Rogues (a shame they couldn't make her appear more unique).
yes, the upper tower is in such disarray it would have taking years for it to look like that, and Andariel is only in the Monastary after the Wanderer (and Marius) pass through the gates that lead to the Rogue Pass.

What's great about the Forgotten Tower quest is how you get it from reading the moldy tome. And it was that same voice from the first Diablo when you encounter certain books (other books were read by your character). And I really loved that in the first game, coming across these interesting passages and making of them what you will.
Perhaps. I mean, crucial elements have always been based on the Sin War excerpt from the manual. It talks all about Tal Rasha, and the binding of the Three, etc.
As for the Sin War books, unless the game is a prequel, I'm not sure how much you can base it on the book, unless it's maybe specifically about Inarius and Lilith. But I guess it's probably too early to tell until we see how the third book in the Sin War series ends.

i loved that aspect in diablo. lots of books that told the story of the game and about the lore of sanctuary.
"glory and aprobation to diablo lord of terror..."
kinda disappointed there werent more of these books in DII/LOD. but you would really only get quests from them, which isnt that bad, but there isnt much story left to tell by the time you get to DII/LOD after playing DI.
DIII needs more of these, even if you only get quests from them.

Books have become sort of an integral part of a video game's appeal for me. RPG/Fantasy games, I mean.
What was nice about getting quests like the Chamber of Bone or the Halls of the Blind was since you discovered the tome yourself, you felt connected to it in a slightly more personal way since it was your discovery and you weren't just told to go find these things.
And the ones read by who I assumed was Archbishop Lazarus made you feel kind of on edge and more in danger than you were before. Especially the passages where he is quoting Diablo himself.

And Dying, there are four books not counting the Sin War trilogy.
