Being that both Belial and Azmodan, along with their armies are still in the Burning Hells, which we really only saw a part of in D2/LOD, I don't think they would be included in a patch, maybe some sort of Lilith encouter with a as yet un-named demon, but no, I don't think Belial and/or Azmodan will make an appearance in d2/LOD, d3 for sure though.
I agree with Lord Elfen on this. To cover the details and upcoming events between the Sanctuary and the two remaining lesser demons, Belial and Azmodan, would certainly take up a new installment.

It's agreeable, at least, to estimate that this new patch may in some capacity have an influence on future renditions of Diablo? Medievaldragon mentioned it's bound to be a crowd pleaser. Despite the murmurs of "warden" patch and "no cd patch" I believe that it can bear some effect on the series regardless of the presence of the Lesser Evils. I think that a "warden patch" and "no cd patch" are the antithesis of crowd-pleasing if Medievaldragon's post holds water, and I think that it does.
Yeah Act 4 always seemed a bit plain. City of the Damned is completely unused. I mean, hell.. The waypoint is right by the entrance to the River of Flame so it's a bit useless.

City of the Damned did kind of give you the feeling though that Hell could stretch on like that into infinity.

That does not necessarily point to Belial or Azmodan, or some other powerful demon of lore. But I think it might have some sort of uber or lilith encounter with a huge demon. Belial and Azmodan seem too big to be simply added in a new patch, These are the two he banished the Prime evils to the mortal realm, these are the two who rallied the armies of the Burning Hells to fight the Prime Evils, these guys are total bad asses!! some little teleport to random location and fight them seems out of place. I want to go to their domain and end their lives, with the mutilated bodies of countless demons strewn about me, quiet tales of weak demons are foolish but a man who enters the bowels of hell and tears evil limb from limb now that's scary!
I have a feeling we shall see these two yet, just not in a patch for a previous game.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Yeah I don't think they'll add new bosses unless it's like what they did with Lilith. All they did was take Andarial and color her hair black. Way to raise the bar blizz!

Ok, um... and you know this how? I mean you're probably right but you sound like this is already confirmed.
Sabacca is prone to make such statements, and without a shred of proof to back it up. I prefer to let people dream, and to try and keep hope up in people. That at least keeps people in this forum. Trying to destroy hope, or "be a realist" kills this forum.
So keep your hopes up everyone, and don't mind Sabacca. He's a hopekiller, uhhh, I mean realist.
The only feature I want to see is a new npc that lets you order Diablo 3 online immediately.
At least they will be officially acknowledging that they still have a Diablo team in place to even do the patch.
Good point. I wonder if this would give insight at all to what the next Diablo game will be, RPG, or MMORPG? Would a MMORPG team be able to work with an RPG? I have no idea, I would assume yes, but then again, RPG and MMORPG might have different programming?

Actually there is some evidence to this. Blizzard just took the CD requirement out of StarCraft + Brood War with their most recent patch which hasn't been out for very long at all.

You're absolutely correct and I agree that there is no evidence of a patch with new, significant bosses. I was merely paraphrasing Medievaldragon to debunk the idea that a No-CD patch would be at all superb in the eyes of the true Diablo player (besides the minor convenience of not inserting a CD to play ... I still have all my original Diablo discs dating back to Diablo 1 so I consider myself pretty much set in this department).
It would, however, be advantageous to harness the opportunity to extend the lore in-game considering they are putting in the effort in other forms of media (i.e. the book series, the upcoming Blizzcast Diablo Lore Q&A). Why not slip some into the main artery, so to speak?
Then maybe Orions_Landing won't have to mainline so much Diablo waiting for a new game:D
Hmm, if this patch does come about in a couple of weeks to a month, the next podcast should be ready about the same time. That's going to be more focus that they've given to the name Diablo than they have in years.

What I said remains true, he showed no proof or reason as to why he said it. Maybe you guys are right, but don't crush hopes. It only makes people not want to visit the forum more. :(:(

Great point. I kinda wanted to say the same, but you worded it perfectly. I doubt all this renewed attention (beginning with the Tristram song at Blizzcon Concert) would be coincidence, Blizzard is working up the hype again. If my predictions are correct and we get more content then we finally know its getting close. Diablo isn't like SC like where we will be given the details of units and their abilities, there won't be as much balancing. Wich inherently (am I using this word correctly?) means that Diablo can be quicker produced especially if they've been working on it for a while now.
Again, Blizzard is giving Diablo attention again. Like neglected children we all forget their sins of not giving us enough, or avoiding us for several years, but lets just hope Papa Blizzard doesn't leave us again with our hopes high and finally stays home, and even brings us a present (Diablo 3) to make up for his bad parenting.

The patch only enables players to play the game without a CD.
