I've started collecting some of the keys for the new hellfires - but being that they are such a pain to get, I wanted ot make sure they are actually worth all the time spent obtaining them. What do you all suggest? Are these new rings really that good, or is it one of those things to acquire when you get around to it.
on a related note, if they are indeed worth going after - if anyone would like to start making some runs at getting them we can set up a group.

NA servers - add me if ya want - ysoserious#1178. - i run a clan if anyone wants an invite. no requirements to join - as long as your nice and friendly your more than welcome
You might want to use it for starters to help boost your paragon level because it still is a good ring, however once you get closer to the end game you're more than likely going to be using a 'Stone of Jordan' and a 'Ring of Royal Grandeur'.
*Edited to explain it a bit better: Stone of Jordan offers a great deal more damage against elites while also boosting your elemental damage / a little sheet damage. Ring of Royal Grandeur allows for the use of multiple set bonuses without having to commit your inventory to one particular set.
yup that does help I'm almost paragon 300 so i'm not starving for extra experience (although it is nice). I thought maybe the stats on the new hellfires would be comparable to some of the other legendary rings that have been dropping. thanks

Still, those maniac out there who wish for 100% achievements will need to obtain at least one such ring. The question whether it will be of any use to them is actually highly-dependent on whether you are a SC/HC player. for the later group, hellfire rings are highly useful when leveling a replacement character to (now) 70.
As for its use in the endgame... well, if it rolls nice, why not?
If you are leveling up new characters often, then the 45% xp bonus is worth it. Otherwise, if might be faster to farm paragon using the ring of royal grandeur to complete set bonuses and kill stuff faster at higher levels.
In my personal opinion it's not worth it. I definitely want one at some point, but I'm not gonna farm it anytime soon. Since I'll most likely do it on T4-5, the drop chance for keys and organs will be between 38% and 43%, which means that in case of "bad luck" I might have to farm dozens of all those keys and do a lot of uber fights. I'd much rather spend my time now on meaningful bounties/mobs I need materials from/rifts.
Also, the relative increase of XP is just so small on higher Torment levels (and if you play on Master or below you won't be able to acquire the ring anyways).
You guys are taking the materials that need gathering for this ring too seriously, I spent 4 days with roughly 4-5 hours per day farming keys and building infernal machines, (I ended up making about a dozen), and I got all the mat's needed and have my ring crafted. Really it didn't take much effort, if you just set aside some time and actually focus on doing it and not half ass it or decide to go do bounties/rifts instead half way through the key runs you can finish the ring pretty quickly. I just farmed the materials on torment 1 as well, and I made a demon hunter using the ring and played him from lvl 1 to 70 on torment 1 in a little over a day, so the ring is definitely useful.

So 16-20 hours of farming the same (boring) thing to craft 1 ring? My gaming time is too much precious to waste it on 1 ring that is not even BiS.
I had a friend along for the ride with me so it wasn't too bad, I could see how just running it over and over alone would be pretty boring though, but the uber bosses you get to fight after getting the mat's together are pretty fun. The uber bosses can also drop legendry's aside from just the materials to craft the ring so there's motivation for that too, I mean regardless of what you do in D3 the whole game can just be devalued down to a time sink.

Hope this helped~~ :>
