Hey guys, I do not have an account to the forums on battle net but maybe someone could paste this topic over so it gets some notice.
Upon playing Diablo 2 LOD I noticed that there is no point to exploring random location or caves, hear me out on this one.
The reason it is a waste of time is because it is completely random, which means if you miss a random dungeon in the first area you can just go in another in the second area and you will have missed out on nothing whatsoever.
This means that people start to "rush" the quests and only do the required dungeons because well, what is the point when you can get random monsters, drops and random chests in any other quest dungeon?
What I propose blizzard to consider is the implementation of un-randomization (I know it sounds like a step backwards). I am not saying get rid of random dungeons, I am suggesting that they add a room in some dungeons now and then through the world that wont appear anywhere else.
This means that if you skip a cave and dont bother exploring it, you will miss out on some stuff!! Instead of knowing you miss absolutely nothing due to the random nature of the dungeons.
If there is a room that will appear only in that certain cave ( though not always ) then you will be rewarded by finding a unique monster battle or a unique chance at some gear. Instead of being able to skip half the game and then get the same gear and monsters in one cave you visit over and over (to a certain degree).
I hope people follow what I am trying to get across, there are no rewards for exploring where there is no need to explore!!
I see where your coming from with this but I do believe that the outside world and dungeon locations(some I think) are not going to be random anyways, not sure on this tho, but I do agree that it was pointless since a lot of the areas in D2 were useless and you missed out on absolutely nothing by skipping them!!
Here is the exact reason why rushing was over-rated.. I found so much of my loot soloing from act 1 on in hell in the random places. I found less good loot just mf'in the big 4. I think in all i found most of my uber gear in the off beat random places as well as the upper plane of all the runes in these random places you speak of. Think about it 20,000 people doing mephisto, diablo baal. 1 person doing the random caves. where u think the drops were best?

"What is the use of complaining about something we know very little of?"
Why does it even matter we all know maphack will come back as soon as the fan base will come back
I prefer randomized dungeons it makes the game WAY more interesting, I played D2 without rush half the time because it was fun to play through the game
i agree with you DGK as soon as hackers hack the game gets fuzzy. It is always a pain to read so called big shots bragging about all their gear then whimpering when they tell of the grabit or maphack they used to get there. It's like contra for the NES as soon as everyone knew of the UP, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A select, start, it was a grand melee of i beat the game. Only a few of us true gamers beat it without that code.

1. Why don't you just make a Battle.net Forums account?
2. That sounds like a bad idea. I like everything being completely random. The few places in D2 that weren't random annoyed me.
1. I was under the impression you needed a CD key to make an account, I do not have one i just played my friends game.
2. I also like the game being random but that does not mean that every single dungeon has to have 100 percent randomization in it. Even if they keep it random but certain dungeons have unique events or places only to that dungeon that can randomly come up.
That way you miss out on something by skipping half the game.

lol this would be nice to hear when the game first came out. but its the future and blizzard will fix all these mistakes in diablo 3. so for now till then ill just stick with my diablo 2 rushes. and never go near a random cave, as always. but thanks for sharing.

Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
?????????????????!?!?!?!?! MH has been around since the inception of D2 on bnet cant believe you dont knwo this lmfao......dont use it on bnet anymore tho you could get caught FAST not like years ago when u could have a MH and a bot going same time for months on end lol....fine for single player tho
I agree in some points with OP.
I would like to have more reasons to explore different areas then the act bosses.
I guess they will fixing it by putting random quests. So whenever you enter a game you found a new quest with a new reward that leads you to a ''sidekick dungeon''. There you got a reason to explore everything...
Other thing i would LOVE is to see high end content in preview acts (like the uber quest). So you keep changing from act to act when you lvling to 99 and never get tired of the same old scenarium.

@Hot_To_Go: I dont know about you buddy but im gonna explore those random dungeons, and guess what? you will be missing alot if you wont.
Random is not boring, Random is Random and its always different, so thats a good thing. There is no such thing in diablo as waste of time when it comes to monster killing (only if the area is for a lower lvl than yours) every time you explore you encounter monsters, and everytime you kill you got a chance to get good items, and gain xp, and have fun... i dont see how you think you are right... seriously.
Edit: Daemaro i like that gem in your sig xD ''omfg what does that gem do!?!?!''

This thread is not asking for a diablo 2 fix, it is suggesting a change to implement for diablo 3.
I completely disagree, if every single map was static, I'd never replay the game after I had tried each character.
At least this way it's not completely predictable.
And I think they're trying to improve upon making areas you don't need to explore a little more worth while.
I think you should read the posts before you "completely disagree". I am not suggesting a completely static game, far from it. I am merely suggesting that some of the random dungeons loaded into the game that can come up be unique to certain areas.
Therefore making it so if you skip half of act one and just do the quests you might miss out on that random unique monster battle that could drop a cool helmet.
