What kind of monsters would you like to see in Diablo 3?
Imo, I would like to see a vampire like creature that clamps on to your neck and sucks your blood draining you life slowly and slowly. This creature would be a high level monster of course. The only difficulty I'm having with this idea is how you would get the vampire off of you. The only thing that I can think of is it could get off of you to catch its breath or something. Any ideas? :confused:

Maybe melee wouldn't work to get it off but any skill would make it back away for a few seconds?
Maybe.
If you are a Barbarian you could probably do the long jump thing and they would fall off.
and If you are a Witch Doctor you could summon one of those dogs and they could attack the vampire and the vampire would be distracted and you can kill it.
About monster abilities, I would not like to see immunities. High resistances yes but immunities no. But they probably design the skills in a way that it would be better to handle the immunities so in that case its ok.
About the monsters. I always liked flayers running straight to your ww and die
- Kind of Lovecraftian spectre wich drain XP will be as nightmarish as possible...
- A Doppleganger boss (or mini-boss) who clone yourself (with items of course !)
- Nasty leechs wich suck your blood then grow, then jump off after inoculated eggs under your skins (maybe work as a poison).
- Fallen babies-cherubims (as in DooM 3)... scary babies with insect wings, weird hands, red eyes and sharp teeth !

Or (cute :rolleyes:) gargoyles sometimes beginning to move and transform into very scary gargoyles and attack you ! What a contrast !

I was thinking of them more as a boss, like Nightmare in Devil May Cry 1.
Tamoz is right, those 2 is top of my wishlist. The illusionists and the dark night. I have to agree that a satisfying death makes it fun to kill in a way that is unparalelled. I do not know if it was the sound and visuals together, or just the visuals. But I enjoyed it. It was quick and it was cool. The sound as you hit them was satisfying as well.
The teleporters in act 5 was just irritating, though they acted much the same as the invisible ones. I liked killing balrogs in the original as well. Skeletons have always been my least favorite, except when using lightning in Diablo 2.
I would like to see more classic deamons, less tentacles, and more gothic beings. Wherewolves and vampires. Nothing too biological, leave worms, and stuff alone. I like the goatmen that are in there already. Snakepeople as well.

Perhaps the implausibility of its own existence makes the skeleton think it hilarious to hide in a barrel, cackling intermittently for some three hundred years until a victim happens by?

They need to look more at real life history for their monsters.
7 Deadly sins
Lust - Lechery = Goat = Goatmen
Gluttony - over consumption = could be the fat demons
Greed could also mean the obese demons (something else would be cool)
Sloth - grief/sadness = ???? (could be tormented souls or a demon crying blood, I don't know)
Wrath
Envy
Pride
too lazy to think of the last 3. However, rather than trying to make made up monsters like... berserker or something... they should also make some demons that represent historic things because history has gone through some pretty dramatic and evil things in the past.
Btw.,.. those demons that were invisible and popped out of no where in D1... bring those back! Those were awesome =)
OOh! How about a monster that builds the bone walls from d2, and the ai uses them to separate the meat shields from their support casters. They could be weird structures made of bone. or, even better, the thing traps the meatshield safely in it's giant ribcage until the meat shield does enough damage to it, meantime the caster has to fend for himself.

Diablo 3 is graphically and artistically great, there needs to be variety in the game, instead of only plain and dark areas!
+Wouldn't it be better and more interesting if from a sunny beautiful day, mist starts covering the screen, rain starts falling, thunders and lightning striking and it starts to darken, instead of constant dark!?
any beast that could come from hell. Goatmen are much like the old depictions of the hebrew religios views of the devil. The enteties in warcraft 3 are demonic as well.
get where I am going here. Keep to the deamons angels Hell Heaven theme in diablo 3. Ratdeamons with red eyes. Succubus, vampiredeamons, and the like.
The the classical depictions of demons, but with a brutal tint to them. No vampires "Bleh". But vampiredeamons with eight genetalia raising the cities of the world, 9 stories high. And the tip of the "spears" shoot lazerbeams... uuu, ukurichu doji or what the hell the name was of that hentai.
