I want to know what is your best skill (no combos like amplify damage and a golem or anyother combo). you can include D3, D2, and even D1 even though D1 didn't really have class specific skills.
Say what class, what skill, and why (like look, effect, etc). plz no debating.

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.
My best skill is...hmm hard to do without combos but i imagine i think it is....Hammers

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this

By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
So, we're talking about coolest skill or best skill? Or both?
Well, coolest certainly Corpse Explosion. Best? Hmm.. Yeah probably the Hammers. If there was no such things as immunities, I'd be tempted to go with Tiger Strike.
From D1, definately Chain Lightning for both coolest and best spell.
From d1 Id say elemental spell or guardian. Apocalypse didnt look cool just killed everything in 2 hits FLAME WAVE!!!

You can't kill Mephisto with Teleport. That's why I put it as #2 best skill, #1 being whatever you use to kill your targets- Hammers, Blizzard, Lightning... etc.
Teleport wins as far as convenience- I say this because you can do anything with Teleport by foot, albeit slower, so Teleport is a convenience. But no matter how many times you Teleport, Baal will not start puking his gutts out until you smack him a few times with Lightning Sentries or Fury or something.

Yeah but I don't think the best skill has to be the most damaging one. For instance, I think bone prison is one of the best skills in D2. Obviously it can't kill unless you cast IM on whoever is inside it. But it's a great skill because it's kind of unique and offers some interesting strategies for players.
Personally teleport annoys me just because even when a Sorc isn't mfing, they do it constantly to move about as opposed to just running. Even if it's in a really small area they'll still do this. And it bugs the shit out of me sometimes.
..? To kill everything for you? I only use them as support (like with my lit sorceress last ladder- I just had him for auras- like conviction, holy shock, and holy freeze- and I had my sorceress do all the killing with 56k lightning.) Of course, I didn't MF with her. She had next to none- I sacrificed it all for raw fire power. I just rushed and did key runs and ubers. Anyway, MF runs need to be fast, and they will go much faster if you're not relying on your mercenary to kill everything, especially when he can only take one enemy at a time. And if you're rushing, speed is everything. Therefore, I categorize the mercenary as strictly support and convenience, while he occasionally kills a completely immune monster. That's rare with an Infinity on (not that I have one this ladder- yet.)

Um, I'm basing it on speed and power. Sadly, a good Hammerdin (not that I ever make them- their skills are too bland for me) is going to beat a Necromancer using IM and Boneprison everytime in speed and power.

Why, your Assassin just cannot keep up?
Nah, I think BoS should do the trick. Quite a useful skill in itself too.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Chain Lightning from the original Diablo was pretty keen.
I'm a fan of the Amazon's skills in Diablo II. Strafe is pretty fun in that your character is like a primitive machine gun. Lightning Fury's pretty useful, too, and I like how the animation looks.
As far as being purely useful, I'd say either Valkyrie (for tanking/helping your mercenary) or Teleport (for obvious reasons).
There's also an Assassin skill I like, but I can't remember the name of it at the moment.

it doesn't matter.
d2 was teleport
and why is 'teleport' listed as misspelled?
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
In the first Diablo, probably Chain Lightning or Guardian. Of course Elemental was really cool but it was very unreliable too.
In D2, Phoenix Strike: a very utilitarian spell. Weak, but diverse and useful.
In D3, I really like the Nymphomancer's orgasm spell.

LMAO... wonder what that looks like
To find the truth, you must risk everything.
