"wow i fucking hate my lightning sorc I want to be Fire, oh fuck I'm already level 99 and I can't fucking unlearn any of this lightning shit so now I have to go and create a whole new sorceress character instead of unlearning these skills"
Didn't you hate having to create a new character whenever you wanted to respec your characters skills. I'm thinking in Diablo 3 we should be able to unlearn all of our current skills for like a price where lets say you have to do a long ass quest and then you can have all your available skill points back. It would save a lot of time so we wouldn't have to create a new character in order to respec your character.
well, i like to Actually play the game, so it will never be a problem for me to restart the game
i would prefer a 10 million times start a level 1 char and play wiht my friends also on level 1 untill hell baal is dead
i think alot of the people voicing that they want respecs are just WoW players. One because you can tell that they dont like any kind of challenge and want to be able to fix all their mistakes and just look online for class builds instead of figuring them out themselves. And Cause apparently they dont realize that in diablo, end game is not like WoW, and that there are not constant updates to endgame content (unless they want Blizzard to make D3 Pay to Play, then they can really have their WoW 2). I think they will be very dissapointed if they end up getting their respecs and then a month or 2 after D3 comes out, they have all 5 classes maxed lvl and geared up, they will realize that they have nothing left to do in the game. This might be good though because once they realize this they will probably go back to WoW and us hardcore Diablo players can maybe take over the game and rid ourselves of respecing ^^.
In the end, as an OG, nowadays i always wonder why people dont like challenges anymore. Very few games offer up a good challenge and push players to develop skills (i blame WoW because its so many peoples first online rpg game and its so lame). Ninja Gaiden 2 (now theres a challenge lol gd) ok thats it im done. FLAME ON WoW players (btw if you say your a OG hardcore Diablo player and totally disagree with me... lies i say)
No, I don't think it's a good idea and I don't think it's one that they will implement into Diablo III. It lowers one of the main aspects of the game that people love, the replayability. Not being able to just respec your character makes for a game that is more tactical and requires more forward thinking. If you don't have enough time to make another character then don't play this game or actually think ahead as to what skills you choose. Although I do agree that if they do implement it (I don't really mind if they do) I think they should only allow one respec per character, and make it require a hefty fee, which would still keep the aspect that the 'diablo fanatics' love.
Well one of the high up people making D3 said and I quote "Respecs are awsome" so wether you guys want them or not they will most likely be in their. Personally I dont see why people care all the much about this issue. So what you make a character one way if you decide to change your mind you can respec.
Or if you want to play it the old and way outdated way and make a new char with the new type of style then you can do it to.
Just becuase their is a respec feature dosnet mean you have to use it. Also haveing a respec feature dosent harm the replay value either.
The only reason Respecs are feasible in mmos are because roles are changed in combat.. A tank may want to dps instead because he has to so in order to stop from making a new character 1- X level in an mmo, there was respec because it was on the fly.. In diablo series so far there is no raiding and there is no real tank, dpser, etc.... Basically respecs would be a bad idea , skill tree wise and attribute wise. Plan ahead.

ya so like, its not the same, cause your doing a different spec. try actually reading post before you reply to them.

But I've yet to see a game that handles them well, so I'm inclined to say "Bad idea".
Also charge for respecing stats, expanding your inventory, socketing items, horadric cube services, ect.
