It, and Unity are basically mandatory. I don't think that having an Oculus on both yourself and follower will stack though, not sure. Either way, its basically 80% more damage for solo players. Solo and MP will probably be with 3-4 GRs from each other now, combined with the mob damage nerf.
Dual equip Oculus Rings. So save all the ones you get know now and you can essentially have 4 Oculus Rings. Two on the follower and two on you
Well, you can only equip one "unique" copy of any item, which rings are considered.
That being said, the effects will not stack if you each have one equipped, but the rate at which it proc's will in fact increase due to more instance roll's
...problem with Oculus Ring before 2.4.1 wasn't that it doesn't work when equipped on follower. The problem was it proced only when follower done the killing blow, so it was really rare. Change in 2.4.1 allowed to Oculus to proc regardless if you or your follower stroke the killing blow.
From my research and observation it is enough to stay in the circle to got boosted People worries to much looking at the sheets when playing. Stay in the circle and think about the destruction you are about to bring!:D
PS: to be honest, I understand why you check everything twice or even more so. That's Blizzard game and they are poor at math

Wrong. It just needs to proc , that's all. You don't have to stay in the circle. If you see the circle anywhere in your screen, then you have the dmg increase, no matter where you stay.

^ not true, tested it right now on live solo.

If it is true there is no need for "circle on the ground" indication. If you equip Oculus ring on follower you got circle somewhere almost all the time. As far as I know you must stay in the circle to keep the buff up. Of course there is slight latency after going in and out the circle.
Secondary
Chance to create an area of focused power on killing a monster. Damage is increased by 70–85% while standing in the area.
PS: of course I can be wrong, but I paste something that I based my knowledge on. And the second thing is, it would be too easy to get buff everywhere, not only in the circle area.

Hm! I remember Blizz has said around patch 2.4.1 that it just needs to proc and does not require you to stay in the circle anymore. Maybe it was a beta stuff and they changed it for live.
Been using the oculus ring on my follower. Working really well so far. What ya think? Anyone else using it?
From the 2.4.1 patch notes:
Oculus Ring
Will now also be activated by your kills if equipped on your follower
"My final offer is this: nothing. Not even the fee for the gaming license, which I would appreciate if you would put up personally."

One of the reasons that I am looking forward to 2.4.1

Correct that's why you save the old ones. I'm using two Oculus Rings right now on my Templar. One that is pre 2.4 and a current 2.4 ring.
From what I've read and the people who have tested said they do stack
Is the follower equipped ring still providing the bonus?
I does proc, but if I look at the damage done value (in the inventory panel) it is the same whether i'm in the circle or not...
I think its a multiplyer which is why it doesnt show up when inventory is open.
Only additive damage shows up like that.
Topic is a bit old, but as far as I remember
