Hey,I'm a little worried about our spellslinger come RoS. Right now, I think she is kind of OP, because we can almost bypass the resource system with ApoC and distribute heavy damage in many different ways.
But I foresee an itemization issue for two reasons:
1) APoC going away
2) Sources not rolling appropriate damage
Whenever a source drops right now, I see something like -35% dps and my Chantodo's isn't that awesome.
So, those of you who have played the beta: Will we all be running around with two-handed weapons at 70? How does the resource (re)generation work?
Well, lets start off with... it's not all that scary with no APoC! The game wasn't intended to be played with enough APoC to 100% uptime on spells, however you still might end up doing that in the end of ROS with high gear levels anyways -_-'. Will take more than before though in terms of planning. The resource regenration still works great for wizards, you might have lower EDPS and will have to put a resource generator in like Electrocute or something but it's how the wizard was meant to be played!
As for sources, they just gave too much damage before. Once you hit 70 they will start rolling about the same as they used to. Except with higher Int and such. I'm going to imagine most wizards will still run 1h/source (I did in the beta as well at 70)
As far as I know, the only reason that the sources are rolling such low damage in comparison is because they are rolling at an ilvl of 60. Where as before the patch, the sources could roll up to ilvl 63. We shouldbe seeing the same numbers that we were before the patch at the actual level of 63.
Max ApoC at level 60 is 4 in Loot 2.0 at level 60, this will scale aome for RoS (6-7 maybe?) With Prodigy passive and/or reduced resource cost, there are plenty of viable ways to play in the expansion.
