I doubt that the name, wether skills or talents or spells is the big winning point for Diablo 3. We should shake hands, and put an end to petty squabling over things that essentially mean nothing. Just to me, I hardly noticed they were named skills and wasn't reminded until seeing it mentioned, I tend to care more about game play.
Could we really just have one thread that didn't divulge into "omg d3 is not wow"...
I thought most of the punks that threw up arguments over nothing were gone now?
Anyway Those abilities look great, thanks for the list. Curious at one rank of charged bolt with a fixed damage total, I'm assuming passive abilities will buff it to usefulness?
I like the feel of the new caster, slow time looks particularly sweet, if not exactly the same as the mother ship from SC2.... however that ability looked so good I'm glad it's going to be in D3... I always like having interesting options of things to cast, other than "hmmm do i blow them up with a fire ball, or with this lightning, or with this glacial spike"

"If we're actually making the game worse with no other reason than to be different from WoW, then it's a bad choice." - Jay Wilson (D3 lead designer)
Hmmm, I wonder if attack skills were limited to 1 skill point for demoing purposes, or if they are buffed entirely through passives.
To those of you who think the number of castable skills are too low, really when you think of D2 and factor in all the skills that were just used for syngergy purposes, or skills that were too bad to have any use in the game, it's really not that bad. This system provides more diversity than D2 imo.

I agree that the slow time spell would have a 500% more "HOLY CRAP" factor if the Mothership didn't use it (which I think it's been axed).
For so long? They were spells in D1, skills in D2, and now talents in D3.
YEA!!!! WHAT HE SAID!!!!! I dont mind calling them talents.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this

You need only just ask
HEY wait a minute! In that skill tree there is no tornado spell but on the video the wizard casted tornadoes....does that imply that there are more spells than what is shown?
I dislike the sameness feel that most of the skills have to the Sorceress, however I do like that they tried to enable a way to make a more "physical" mage with the magic sword and such. If I play a Wizard, I know where I will be spending my points.

They do seem kind of the same, I'm sure once we play with them though we will notice damage differences and added effects that make them stand out more.

ill try it when it comes out, but personally, i think d2's system was again....alot better (and alot more simple)
Disintegrate!
The skills and talents will be a lot easier to maneuver through in the game itself.
a pic with each skill, and the description next to it. (like when the cursor in on the skill)
think we can get that?
Must be further down the storm tree!

Disintegrate looks awesome to me.
I believe it was mentioned that tier 5 was not shown... can someone back me up on this?
