Mainly doing rifts and grifts and and just wondering what the best build for killing stuff fast is? So far I have most of the items for Rhyyker's firebird build but only doing grift 35's and am doing well in them but much higher I doubt i'll do the dmg needed so kinda wondering what build I should aim for. HOping its easy to play haha.
Firebird is wierd in that rather then damage, what you really need is toughness - Technically, Firebirds has infinite damage (Generally, If you were capable of getting the burn up on all targets on a decent size floor in a GR, you would have well over a 4000% damage boost), so what Firebirds lacks the most is toughness (There is no built-in toughness, so you have to acquire all your toughness from off pieces). Chances are someone will eventually make a GR 90+ Firebirds that concentrates entirely on getting the perma-burn up on normal mobs, and just running around until they get a few hundred stacks of the damage boost, while maybe getting that record toughness of 22 billion somehow.
Anyway, Delseres is currently the best for both solo and pugs. Vyr's/Tel'Rasha is also decent, but can't push as high as easily as Delseres. Delsere also has 3 different builds, that being Orb, Twister, and Explosive Blast (With some lesser builds available - You can go with a Channeling Delseres until you get the neccessary Orb/Twister/Blast gear for those particular builds). Vyr's relies on HEAVY CDR stacking to be real good - You need to get Archon down to under a 40 second CD, which requires a huge amount of CDR. Possible to do while relying on Zodiac ring, but until you can get perma-Archon, Vyr's will remain gimped.
Tel'Rasha/Delseres is really you best bet - Tel'Rasha has some pretty cool combination capability on top of its damage/defensive boost.
I have tried Delseres with arcane orbs but I really did not like it at all. I liked Firebird's for the low rifts. It was fun feeling pyromaniac on these demon asses but as you said, there are some issues with survivability. I also use the "flash fire" build to compeltely destroy Torment X and lower Grifts.
What I have not tried is the other two variations of Delseres and Vyr. Although I have the complete set and the ring you mention, I see no build in 2.4 concerining Vyr's. Why is that? Is it THAT inferior? Have to note here, I missed completely 2.3 so I really do not know anything on Vyr's etc.
The best solo build is DMO with Arcane Orb, Firebirds is terrible in it's current state for higher GRs (6 piece doesn't kick in until enemies start permanently burning, and remember if you go too far they stop burning. In order to use disintegrate you have to stand still and slowly build up damage as well). Tal Rashas is like an inferior version of DMO, both have the 2000% damage boost but one you just place a bubble the other you have to constantly spam spells of 4 different elements. DMO also has insane survivability that Firebirds/Tals does not have. Vyrs is being ignored because it wasn't changed, it is still pretty good but DMO is just way ahead. Really wish the other sets were more competitive, I didn't play PTR so I was excited about all 3 sets once I got Firebirds and Tals completed I realized how flawed they are.

I do not completely agree with Tal Rasha's being strictly worse than Del'seres.
While the survivability is definitely worse on TR, the damage output is on paper higher for you and for your group.
You have your meteor procs on your 4 piece, which is basically free damage that benefits from all your multipliers. With Nilfur, you also have the 40% bonus damge from Primordial for you and your group. Couple that with mantle of channeling AND deathwish, and that is another seperate 100% and 25% damage modifiers, and last but not least focus restraint

The meteors are not worth factoring in because starpact was "fixed" to do normal damage not calculate off mana. Now if you are talking about groups DMO is still better, because then you can do energy twister build with the Twisted Sword+still have Stop Time. Mantle of Channeling+Deathwish can't compete with that, plus you have to stand still and ramp up damage to channel and then stop every few seconds to spam other spells to keep up the bonus for Tals. Endless Walk cancels out Focus/Restraint and doesn't require alternating skills. Have you actually played with Tal Rashas or are you just looking at %? Tals just isn't as good when you actually play it.
