Replace one of the soul harvest runes with or include "Casting soul harvest puts you in the spiritual world for 2secs" to part of the 6pc bonus.
It wouldnt share the same cd as our spirit walk and would be a QoL improvement since we wouldnt have to cast spirit walk after nuking (helpful with lag)
I could see that working, though honestly I could see having a rune for Soul Harvest give you a shield depending on the amount of damage done by Soul Harvest (perhaps added onto the current damage rune, or simply by adding a damage component to Soul Harvest baseline and changing the damage rune to the shield rune). Having the shield be based on the damage done would serve double duty of making it not the mandatory rune, while also allowing it to scale with grift level.
Or just leave it dead and sort out the other new builds. Jade harvester was incredible boring and i for one is glad its gone. If jade was the only viable spec i wouldn't even consider WD for s3.
Buff the other specs more. Make them fight other classes builds and leave jade dead in the water
I like the idea of buffing jade and spirirt walk that way but to be honest, it would make the build overpowered if you were automatically casting spirit walk after every harvest. You can already achieve a really high uptime on spirirt walk and if they make it automatic it might even go to perma serenity monk levels. On the other hand, jade is capped at a certain level because the burst damage is not high enough which means that your uptime on ss is so low... I guess it all comes down to whether Blizzard wants jade to be competetive with the new zunni and the new wd set in 2.3... Who knows.
I already said this but I think the set should remove cd and add a mana cost to soul harverst. Also the spell effect could just simply appear around the area you click rather than around you
Seconding this. Blizz doesn't want people relying on invincibility, so compensate by giving toughness in a way that scales with gear (basing it on damage done would be great). For purposes of the Jade build, they wouldn't even have to worry about a "mandatory" rune, since the 4 piece currently gives Soul Harvest all rune effects.

Wouldn't that "buff" (all runes) increase the damage output enough to offset the loss of Jaunt and increased timer?
600-700% wep damage on an attack that goes for over a billion isnt going to help. Not of the runes aside from siphon are any good.
I think they changed one of the runes to give -80% movement speed but we would still be fighting monsters who stand in their own crap. There is no way to get in and out.
Glowpipe or crackpipe (jk)? Jade is the most dynamic class in game. Other builds are simply cast 5 generators, cast 3 spenders, repeat.

If we're going to absurdly simplify every other class in the game then Jade is drop DoTs cast Harvest (Spender, Spender, Spender, Detonation) spam defense skill.
In execution exactly the same as all your absurdly oversimplified other builds.
I said dynamic. Other classes have fairly static rotations. Jades have to manage cooldowns and herd properly to maintain the flow.
I still think they need a buff, my dh cluster can hit for 500mil vs a rift boss (solo) while my harvest is around 1.1bil (non ancient, well rolled wormwood).

yea i agree something has to be done, without spirit walk Jade is dead in the water, aside from being some sort of hybrid with pets 2.2+
