So, after reading about the BoE feature for D3, I thought about the possibility of Blizzard testing out this feature in the new 1.13 patch that should be coming out soon (Fingers Crossed!). I still have mixed feelings regarding BoE, but I would like to see if it works like in theory. Though, they have stated that the BoE will only apply to end game ilvl 85 items, but they could possibly change it up to see the different affects.
How would everyone feel if they implemented this (one way or another) in 1.13 to test it out on the Diablo community?

Yea, I just think it would be an interesting test on the Diablo community to see how they like the feature. I figure they might want to test it before it makes it to the final release of D3...

Meaning that when a certain item is BoE and you equip it to your character, that item can longer be transferred or traded, it is bound to that character only.
Hope that helps

Don't really mind either way. Anything that suppresses duping is pretty much A-OK in my book.
I never saw them confirm BoE for D3, though -- just that they were 'considering' it. If they did confirm it, please cite your source so we're not playing 'Oh I heard it somewhere...' game. Just curious of this is fact.
From my understanding of this interview with Jay Wilson, he states, that as of now, they currently have BoE for high end items only...but of course, this is Blizzard and everything is subject to change

You know, I know that this is a dream, but I really would like to know (experience) what a Diablo 2 ladder season would be like without botting/duping/3rd party programs in general...I think it would be the greatest season ever...:D

I really doubt it would happen especially when trading gear is such a major part of the game.....
I totally agree with that statement. Diablo is a trading based game; however, I dont believe every item should be BoE. If they limited the BoE on high end items (ilvl85) and most of the end game runewords, I wonder how that would affect the D2 economy.

then the only things being traded would be easy to ind stuff like magefist, or rare ammys that are under ilvl85 with 20fcr and skill mods lol...it would really ruin the game that people are used to i think unless they came up with other systems for trading and stuff.....sure would make getting items like botd, nigma, coa, etc... virtually impossible.....just imagine trying to find all the runes for a last wish all by urself LOL....this is just my opinion on it tho
no i dont want boe at all in d3. there will be no duping so we dont need it. This will be very stupid if they put it in diablo 3 as its a trading game. I dont want boe for only high level items either.

I dont want it in D3 either but dont be so sure on there being no dupes...surely it will be harder to do and blizzard has a much better plan to fight those types of things this time around but hackers always find a way
Wait, I'm not sure I completely understand it. When you find an item, you can't trade it or do anything with it besides use it?
When you find an item and it has a ilvl of 85, if you EQUIP it to your character, then it can no longer be traded. This is something that Blizzard is considering putting in D3 to help keep end game items out of the economy.
For example, COA are very rare for this first part of the ladder season right? Well, they are worth a good bit to the right buyer; however, say six months into the season, only the near perfect ones are worth anything, right? But, if you introduce the BoE for ilvl85 items, instead of (for arguments sake) 1,000 COA in ciruclation, there are only 250, because 750 were used at some point during the season. Therefore, it helps keep a lot of end game items out of the economy and make them valuable throughout the season.
See, in D2's economy, say back in march before the reset was announced, what was worth anything? Think about it....what could you find off of an MF run that was actually worth something because of the economy? They believe that the BoE will help somewhat control the economy.
Lastly, others will argue that the problem lies with dupers and that is the downfall to the economy, which I will agree, but there are other things too that would keep the economy stable...
Just my 2 cents worth of thinking at 11pm

Yeah maybe, but I suppose duping doesn't have so huge impact on uniques anymore. Runes are their main target I guess. But bots bring a lot of rare uniques to the market..

No problem
I'm just interested to see how poeple take to it and personally think it would be in blizzard's best interest to test it out in D2...

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
