As I'm often interested in discussing the first Diablo game above its sequel, I still am quite aware that this is one of our least popular sections. What's disheartening about it though is that because not a lot of threads are created in the Diablo 1 section, they disappear of the list because no posts were made in it within a day's time. I know there are other ways to find threads created in that section, but I still reckon that those threads deserve more of a chance when created.
With sections like the Off-Topic, obviously it's not going to be neglected for more than a day. But it is less likely that the Diablo 1 section will be neglected and I understand that. However, it is also precisely why we should allow threads to remain on the list of threads before they disappear from it.
I suppose I could sticky a thread in that section though. Would this keep all the other more recently created threads showing even if no one has posted in them for awhile?
I can go back by a week and it will show up to one. But the default is just what is posted in the last 24 hours. And this section gets posted in at fewer intervals than once a day.
I agree. I think the same should happen with the storyline thread too.
(I really don't know why that one thread was stickied, its starts off so craply, anyone would turn away from it quickly)
The thread did start off pretty lousy, but we did get some really great discourse out of it. Hopefully these threads will have more attention paid to them when Diablo 3 is announced. I understand we're in a bit of a dry spell lately which is why so much traffic goes through the Off-Topic section. But I'd still like to see threads last longer on the list before taken off of it.
I'm not sure I entirely understand what you're saying, but I'm guessing you mean that, since there's not a whole lot of discussion in there, threads do not get replies evrey day and so you do not see them, correct?
If that's so, why not just make it so the forum displays all threads no matter when created. That's what I do
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Part of problem, I think is the fact that it seems this game is rather neglected by the people here. Many have only played the second one.
But yes, I do feel that that section is in need of revival, or prehaps just more activity as it was never very active to begin with.
I would like to see more than a handful of new polls that a no doubt likely to die within a few days be created. But that would be a start at least.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
