In order to do this effectively, you need Firewalkers and the Spaulders of Zakara.
Basically, you have to go to Westmarch Heights (Act 5) and look for the dungeon "Repository of Bones". When you do, there will be these Rat Caller adds that basically you kite to the end of the instance and you position yourself inside the doorframe between the first and second level of the dungeon. This makes it to where your Firewalkers only damage the small rats without killing the Rat callers that spawn the small rats.
While you're gathering up all of the adds, make sure you have the Firewalkers unequipped so they don't accidentally kill the Rat callers while you kite them.
When you gain a paragon level, you make a small explosion which might kill some of the Rat Callers, if you're not AFK farming this, you can always go to the level two and port out and kill a few things right before you level to avoid this.
ive been wondering about this aswell if they count afk farming as an exploit since exploit doesnt mean only finding bugs and abusing it can address to serval issues is one of them afk farming?
almost certain nobody is getting banned for this, its not really an exploit its more like clever use of game mechanics, it will be fixed as the other afk methods before and the afk'ers will find something new and blizz will fix that, and the dance continues and anyone getting butthurt over people using it get over it they are only cheating themselves its a singleplayer game with a coop element nothing anyone else does has a bearing on your playing of the game

I couldnt disagree more - every time they "fix" one of these things it hurts the people who actually play the game - which is EXACTLY why we have white mobs that arent worth any xp, dont drop anything and are completely useless objects - there to be "killed" only if theyre actually in your way from running from point A to point B or you need 100 of them to complete a bounty.
The game is not being patched in a vacuum where they only "fix" the code for those exploiting bugs. Every change they make ultimately affects every player and we've already been shown that the fixes typically remove something from those playing the game.
Abusing the legendary affix of Fire Walkers isn't a bannable offense. They didn't ban people for abusing the old, buggy Shard of Hate, and this is an intended property.
All they're going to do is make those rats worth no xp, drop no loot, and whine about players not playing the game how they want us to.
Can't wait to try this but I still have an active game from the other A5 afk farming using the Emikdeva event, they only patched it for new games created so any old games still up and running still work haha.
There is no part in end user license agreement that stipulates that the so called "afk farming" its an infringement to it unless of course the use of third-party software is in place.
That is for Battlenet which is also used for all the current games of Blizzard
You can be banned for promoting such exploits if it is deemed as one by Blizzard. It is up to Blizzard to decide what is an exploit.
License Limitations.
You agree and acknowledge that the foregoing license is revoked any time that you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:
Derivative Works: Copy or reproduce (except as provided in Section 1(B)), translate, reverse, engineer, derive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on or related to the Battle.net Client, Service, or Games.
Cheating: Create, use, offer, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:
Cheats; i.e. methods, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;
Bots; i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that allows the automated control of a Game, the Service and/or any component or feature thereof, e.g. the automated control of a character in a Game;
Hacks; i.e. accessing or modifying the software of a Game or the Service in an manner, not expressly authorized by Blizzard; and/or
any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that can be used in connection with the Battle.net client, the Service, a Game and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay;
Absolutely zero chance anyone is getting banned for standing around burning rats with an item effect that exists within the game. They may fix it eventually, but any heavy-handedness in doing so is all on Blizzard at that point, not the people who find things like this.
Yeah man, afk'ing some levels on Diablo while going to work, going outside and participating in physical activity(sorry I know sunlight burns) , or maybe while studying or hell even while hanging out with friends what a wonderful and fulfilling life that must be.
Gaining items/XP while not being at the keyboard is absolutely an exploit no matter how you slice the cake. It's clearly unintended behavior since Diablo 3 is clearly designed to be interacted with by the player and circumventing that step is very much against the EULA.
Also AFK farming, much like botting, puts strain on the servers because people are now holding open games when their games would have otherwise been closed out. Therefore it creates the potential for an inferior experience for everyone else.
Yeah there are people who spend tons of time trying to find exploits and they could be using that time for better purposes however I would venture to say many exploits are stumbled upon and then the person eh found the exploit gets excited and releases the information for others to use it. The issue here is not the people who waste their time trying to find exploits, because those people typically know if they do find an exploit and leak it then it gets patched sooner, those people keep the exploits to themselves to avoid the masses learning about it and it being patched. The only reason these exploits are known is because sooner or later some average guy stumbles across it, notices it and releases it to the community.
As for mods closing these threads all that would really do is send the message that this community does not condone using exploits, it would not however prevent the information from being spread thru the 100s of other mediums they are spread thru.

Wrong.
Knowingly partaking in exploits IS against the ToS.
Ask all the idiots that took advantage of the RMAH glitch to get unlimited gold. This, as well as the AFK farming are overt violation of the aforementioned clause.
OP has been reported by myself and many many others (cause this smart fella thought it smart to post this @ BNET). Enjoy your AFK ban.

You fail to show me in which point does this qualifies in, because if you say it like this i can quote ".Blizzard may terminate this Agreement at any time for any reason or no reason",you anything is bannable if you take it that way.

I think people quoting the EULA should learn what an exploit is, this really isnt an exploit, He's using firewalkers in a strategic way. All i see is people ruining ways of farming that in no way effect anyone else in this game, you cannot tell me that you are adversely affected by how much gear or paragon levels someone has. If you dont like an exploit, dont do it. as simple as that.
Who cares about getting banned when the account wa leveled and geared up by afking? Lmfao
What the fuck?
What the hell would the point be then? Spending $60 every other week for a new account just to watch it burn to ashes?
You're assuming a few things here, first that the account owner has not got 60 dollars worth of enjoyment out of the game so far, second that the account owner upon being banned would purchase another account and third that the account owner views 60 dollars as a sizeable amount of money.

Yeah, OK bud.
Clearly the game is meant to be played by an active human being. Therefore, any form of "strategic use" of anything that allows you to play without actually being at the keyboard is clearly abusive and exploitative behavior.
The idea that someone should be allowed to get XP or items without actually playing the game (sorry, if you're AFK then you're not playing the game... you're mowing the lawn, or sleeping, or whatever) is laughable. The fact that someone would defend that as a legitimate way of farming, however, is truly pathetic.

How does it affect you? please elaborate instead of just calling me pathetic.you cant trade any of the mats or any of the legendaries or any of the gold that people get from AFKing, so please tell me how in any way that it affects you? let people play the game how they want be it actively or inactively, especially when it doesn't affect you. Also i dont AFK farm and i never have.
