I did not check the whole list, but there seems to be no legendary only affix on these items, which is good.
No, its freakin' horrible.
It means they have nothing special despite their name, and considering the horribly boring list of Affix if there are no legendary only affix that are any special then my god, will itemization in this game be bad.
I think some legendaries have effects that can't naturally be found on their items though....an example was any random classes resource can be found on SoJ...-shrug-
And normally they're found on belts/weapons.
That's food for thought since you think there's absolutely no uniqueness to 'em.
200+ legendaries at launch is a large list of items. I'm not sure what you're looking for from them.
If you hadn't seen the 50 different replies at any given time frame where blizzard employees continually stated that the number of uniques on the website was a fraction of the number to be shipped with the game (BEFORE they took uniques and sets off the website to rework them) and then 3 days before release this stunt's pulled! I'm just disappointed because I, and many others, saw the names, graphics and flavour text of every one of these Legendaries really early on and were hoping for more variety. That's all.

at least 3/4 of those, if not more, are not end game items. the way they described inferno, that you would have to farm hell to get to inferno, then farm each act of inferno to get to the next, it just doesnt seem like there are enough end-game weapons to prove that method of farming.
plus i was teased when they initially launched the items page on the d3 website when they had all the stats, there was at least 350+ items. then they took the stats off, then slowly started removing items and the list is what its at now.

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)

We need to just wait until Monday and see. It's all speculation at this point.
And yes, I've read Jay Wilson's twitter posts today. He hasn't been able to compare the guide to the item database. He's also not going to say anything anyway because I'm sure they have a contract with bradygames and do you really see Jay Wilson going around basically proclaiming the bradygames guide is out of date? No, it would hurt sales.
I know the wait is unbearable, but I think Monday will bring happiness for all of us looking for more uniques.
I'll tell you what legendary set I'm excited about though, as most of you guys will be too, is the Demon's Carapace. Damn those set pieces looked sick. http://eu.battle.net...demons-carapace
I'll try and find a pic for all you D3 noobs out there, because they took it off the website early this year.
EDIT: Ok, there are absolutely no pictures of any of the pieces of this set. Here's each one listed in the game guide anyway - right hand page, 3rd set from the bottom. http://imgur.com/a/5M6U9#4
Legendaries are basically rares, but you have less chance of getting a crap one. Which is a good thing. The best rares will be better than the best legendaries, but the worst legendaries will be so, so much better than the worst rares.
I feel like we have a bunch of WOW players in here, due to the fact everyone wants more "end game" legendary items. The fact that u can not map out all the items u want on your char before the game is out is the reason this is diablo. That is the reason why WOW got so boring for me and also the reason why im excited to play this game. Random items is way better in my opinion... i dont see the problem with how it is setup now. quit getting upset about not knowing all the items you want on your "end game" char before the game is out. Legendary and rare items are the only different cause of the set affixes. look at the affixes you want before the legendary items you want... its more important.
So heres some evidence why this might not be the complete list -> there arent any legendary one handed axes listed. That barb they have as an example on the player profile demo has a legendary ( orange = legendary right?) one handed axe called " The Burning Axe of Sankis" . Unless I missed something in the OP.
Yeh but that's only because the person/people typing this list up couldn't understand some of the more blurry Legendary names. Check the actual scans, you'll see The Burning Axe of Sankis if you focus hard enough. Another example of this is the Umbral Oath, a Blacksmith plan I saw last night. There'd be more.

Right. makes sense. Seems pretty likely even the Brady guide list is incomplete. And even if it is... there's gonna be plenty more sooner or later. I dont think the quantity and diversity of legendaries is really anything to get too concerned about. We'll all know soon enough
And the 'class specific' weapons (which give special resource and skill bonusses)
I think the staves aren't tied to the wizard, no wizard only in the guide. So that means: DH - 12
handbows: 5
quivers: 7
WD - 11
ceremonial knives: 6
mojo's: 5 (unless theres more on the next page)
just seems weird to me that when playing different classes, you have more variety. If its a minor change, or one class has more weapon choice while another has more armor choice no prob. But seems if you play monk you have the biggest item pool to choose from :S... Dominating in both weapon and armor class specific count.
Edit: so the brady guide can't be final, right? :\ would be really weird if it was...
There are like 220+ legendary items and it's enough for me, why? At least now endgame characters won't wear legendary items only like in D2 - another victory for randomization and more fun for us.
You should actually count legendaries as garanteed (appart from a few stats) proper items. I too had some amazing rares in d2 lod, by no means where they an alternative though! They where the uber expensive near perfect itemization upgrade from uniques and runewords. Tho truth be told some 1.10+ runewords where just crazy. Its probably going to be really hard getting even proper rares.
Especially if you count that some people might even salvage proper rares because they have no clue about itemization.
D2 had a lot more uniques. And because D2 worked differently, half of the seemingly lower level uniques were still useful at "max" level. That's not the case in D3. 1-2 60 legendaries is a joke and this better not be all of them.
D2C did not have more uniques. And it had way way fewer set items than D3 does.
Your claim that half of the lower level uniques were useful at max level is utterly insane. Almost NONE of the D2 uniques were useful. In D2C, maybe 7 or 8 of the uniques were good in endgame, total. In LoD, maybe 40 or 45. Most were utter, utter garbage.
As long as rares indeed roll with great affixes, I don't really mind not having an outrageous number of legendaries. I do hold a grudge against Bashiok for teasing us with that message though, as if there were hundreds of legendaries, with a ton more end-game ones
I agree Bashiok's post was very misleading, saying it was just a fragment of the legendaries in game. Its not the first faulty post he made tho. We get a handfull more? yay... :\
Anyways I hope the stats on legendaries can just climb higher then they can on normal items. Like 225-250 vitality vs 200 on rares for instance. But with rares we've only seen affixes, does that mean prefixes are out the window? Its what made d2 rares so great, having affixes + prefixes. Some of these affixes and prefixes could cross into unbelievable damage bonusses.
Set bonusses do seem to have unique bonusses afaik. Immortal kings has spending fury increases life, don't think I saw that amongst the affixes :P. I read somewhere, allot earlier in the development phase though so not sure if its still correct; sets will be better than legendaries and will be really epic to complete on your char...

Actually, it wasn't that great but it was cool looking.

The weird thing that struck me tho,
Wizard hats - 3 legendaries
DH cloak - 3 legendaries
WD masks - 5 legendaries
Monk spirit stone - 8 legendaries
Barb mighty belt - 8 legendaries
What the hell? Seems a bit unfair :S?
And the 'class specific' weapons (which give special resource and skill bonusses)

wands: 6

WD - 11
ceremonial knives: 6
