I guess when I think about Diablo 2's relationship to in game currency, I think of nothing more than repairs. Gold in Diablo 2 itself really never had any use to me. If I needed some I could run Hell Cows and grab as many armors I needed to sell to repair my gear. I think that Blizzard de-stabilized gold by making it... 1) way to readily available... and 2)completely uneven when it came to an items value in terms of gold.
For example, A completely useless 1 socketed archon plate with 300 base defense being worth 30000 gold in comparison to a flawless gem which has what I thought a much lower drop rate kind od de flated the whole market.
Because of this I think that the users all started to migrate to a form of currency that could have some base value that was defined. Weather it be SoJs or Hrs or ...
Blizzard please create an in game economy that promotes consistency while not bringing any BOE crap to the Diablo Universe!
BOE is very important to keep the consistency. Imagine if SoJs was BOE, the currency is broken, so the gold still an option. Blizzard try to make gold the only way to compare items.
BoE = epic failure. The games still going to get overloaded with gear, its just going to make experimenting with different builds/gear set ups far more aggravating and time consuming. Not to mention, its just going to flat out decrease the volume of trading, and any design that causes people to interact less in an online game is bad imo.
D2 = tons of trading. People make games just to go and trade. What I want to know is will D3 have .. ladder specific trade hubs, if that makes sense. Kinda like Guild Wars, in a city you see other players, but when out of a city you're by yourself unless grouped. Same with (shudder, don't impale me) Hellgate: London - in a station you could see all other players. I can't see it being a bad idea... unless they don't find a way to get rid of the spammers.

Damn it you don't know how I disagree.

I'm pretty sure they will make a trading room without entering a game, directly in battle.net. They will make a useful ergonomic system. I doubt a big company like Blizzard will decrease their system quality.

Yeh I assume they will, I just wonder what form it'll take.
Part of me hopes they don't make an Auction House feature, one of the reasons I love D2 so much is because you have to deal with the person your selling to in person. I find when people put things on an AH they overcharge, but in person they'll sell for less. There's also more bargaining involved so it keeps the community socially active.
But back on the original topic I hope they leave it with just gold, no bronze/silver. I don't mind if stuff costs me 12,000 gold, it's an awesome number. Just change it so you don't lose 100k+ when you die >.>

I would also not like to see a AH but from what luc is saying he is presenting that idea. I guarantee they put a AH in D3, this game is influenced by WoW.
I did not like to trade in D2. Most players I met were just @?!$#. Either they wanted an arm and a leg for the duped item and then they insult you, or they whine that your item is almost worthless and start to insult you.
That is one reason I gave up on trading and just gave away any item.
I hate playing online since I have had mostly bad experience.
I do not think I will play D3 online.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

It's not necessarily an AH, but something based with few features who come from WoW.
We have known this for ages. And its a good thing. Sorry.
I don't know if it's a good thing ?! I hope Blizzard will just take the right features and not transform Diablo into a MMO.
Yeh, I like D3's art and design just the way it is. It may not be as dark as D2 is but that's because there's 10, 15 years between these two games, tech changed, there's a third dimension now. Everyone whining about the way it looks will still end up playing, IMO if they care enough to complain that means they care enough to check the Diablo3 site every once in a while, see how it's coming along. Definitely gonna play online, can't wait to see what they do for trading.
I believe if I want to trade my shako for your what ever I can do it idk about you guys buy i believe in free trade. If you notice the economy acts just like ours. simple supply and demand(for ladder at least). Ladder rests shakos go for a couple high runes after awhile when theres alot of 99's and its been a year since ladder reset u can get shako for low low LOL. So if I trade someone a shako for a enigma(idk who would) I and that person can or if he wants gold WHATEVER it dosent matter WHATEVER he wants and if I have to get WHAT I want then I am gonna give it to him.
So if I can give to get whatever I want then that is a system that I want(rather its via gold and/or iteams) meaning no BoE please. Or even BoE on certian things like quest items or something like the torch(even tho I think I should be able to trade my torch for your W/E)

I don't understand what you're trying to say? Like are you saying that the trade shouldn't be mandated by any outer force? And that all item's value should be made by the players?
all I am saying is that it should be free trade like D2. BUT I do think gold should have more value. Thats all i am saying
~Mike~
Yea I agree, def. But what do you mean by free trade? Like where you don't have to go to a AH? Where item's wont have a general pricing on them to give the nubs a guide line?
I hope there's free trade. And free post on AH. Especially if gold is highly valued, it would make sense not to have a posting fee.
I wonder if it will be copper silver gold? Cause I'm sure no one wants high increments like on WOW. Its stupid when things cost hundreds of thousands. Maybe nothing of singled core value (1 original item) past a thousand gold or so.

"So you have come here for information? I have some for you..."
sure if there is a place where all people can come in and sell/trade things then yes a auction house idea for a guide for nubs and things like that are awsome... but BoE or BoP and cant trade a item IN that AH is stupid. why cant I sell it or trade it to someone that needs it and give me something I need rather a helm, weapon, or gold...
something like a quest item is BoP or BoE that is ok.(exp. D2 LoD Act 5 when you save anya you get a item based on class) I can see something like that BoE or BoP
for the nubbys that will need the AH guide
BoP=Bind on Pickup
BoE=Bind on Equip
