Zooming and adding cinematics would be cool in hardcore where the game actually finishes.
Otherwise it might impede the gameplay according to me...because during a cinematic, time freezes and you can't do nothing but watch.
On the other hand, if it(death animation) is fast enough- like ripping you in half for example, it can be done anytime without really interrupting the game.
Now that am thinking, to keep the epicness of a death animation, one boss could have something like 3-4 fatalities and he/she chooses among those to finish you off.
This way both hardcore and softcore players (like me) can enjoy their fatalities without them loosing their value.

Cinematics for me isn't like an in-game zoom !! I don't think cinematic are really possible. Maybe a zoom, but seriously I really don't care... When I die, I'm furious, I don't want see my dead.. I want play..

Really good point !! Blizzard always make them game with a obviously low poly, all the job are in the texture...
So everytime you die with a barb you see the barb's death cinematic? it gets kinda boring after a few times...
I think IF this idea happen, it will be only on hardcore... But I don't see what this idea bring to the game... useless feature... If blizzard work on that, it's better to doesn't take too long. Blizzard have to work on many things extremely more important than that...
