It doesn't make if Blizzard has full control. What matters is the fact I don't want noob's working on my Diablo.
It's not Your Diablo; it's none of ours, Blizzard owns the rights to the game and are the ones developing it. It's just a game. If you don't like it don't play it.
First off, the game is made for the fans. Not the creators. What you're saying is, is without someone to own the game, they'd still make the game, right? Wrong.
It is in every way, shape, and form a game for the players. It is MY game as much as it is YOUR game and the creators game. Without us, the game would cease to exist. So please, do not try to say "UHHH... It's not your game fool" when in reality, without purchasers, their would be no game period.
I never said I do not like it, either. I said I hope the end result shows some of the original developers talent shining through, and not just these stupid noobs they've hired. Excuse me for saying stupid noob, but, you get my point. Inexperienced in the Diablo franchise, as, obviously, only all the fans like us and the original creators are truly "experienced".
As for the examples of the Necromancer... Zayl replaced his arm with a skeletal arm, that'd be cool to do over time, become partially undead, Zayl communicated with the dead, I believe Zayl blinded a bunch of people once, Zayl also healed people and called down lightning, I think Zayl also went so far as to do lots of different curses and bone walls that they could expand upon.
As for bringing the Necromancer back in the future, we'll see how that goes, if it happens at all. I'm pretty murky eyed when it comes to these new developers, they've already basically changed everything about Diablo's art and characters and not listenened to the fans at all, even going so far as to mock us with the "Cute Diablo 3" shirts they made which basically said "Fuck you fans. How do you like this? This is us not listening to you whiney bitches." Which I took as a serious insult because without the fans he wouldn't even have a shirt like that to begin with.

Blizzard closed the studio because most people had left. Why did they left? Because of a disagreement with Vivendi. It had nothing to do with their work.
well, the game had already been scrapped once, so there was something wrong with their work too.
it seems to me that the "original" developers ran out of ideas and would make what most fans right now want. something thats Diablo 2 with better graphics and nothing new.
If you're all for that go ahead, scream for the "original" devs. I prefer the new game to be new.
I wanted Diablo 2 with a lot more classes, a lot more acts, a lot better graphics and a lot more combat abilities and progression. I wanted Diablo 2 completely expanded into next generation style gameplay, with real quests, story, etc. Most of this the new dev's are doing, but, I just feel like they're doing it all wrong. Too much story, too oddly formed graphics make it look like a generic fantasy game, just, weird effects, weird class ideas. It all fits rather oddly. I think the old dev's would've made Diablo 3 a lot better than just "Diablo 2 with better graphics and nothing new."

sounds like a remake with an expansion added to me. Thats not what a sequel is supposed to be, though. Play Diablo 1 and then Diablo 2 and you'll see how the game evolved. How different it is. Expect the same thing with Diablo 3. Thats a good thing.
I honestly didn't see a much bigger change than that from Warcraft 2 to Warcraft 3. They added in two more playable factions and heroes, and a graphics update, like I said. That's it. Story mode doesn't really matter because they had that in Warcraft 1 and 2.

more than half of D2 people are there to work on D3 now.
Wow, schooled so many times, still posting this one.
Since when does "less than 10%" equal "more than half"? If you're talking about actual Blizzard North guys at the time, you're off by about twenty guys.

I'm 100% sure you are a noob in WC2 or in WC3 (problably both). I gues never even played those games. You have no idea of wtf you are talking about.

None of Diablo I team and 4 people of Diablo II team are working on the DIII now..Blizzard North guys are making action-MMORPG right now i guess.Their company is called Runic Games. Also they hired Matt Uelmen who made Tristram music while ago...
Even old devs say "DIII will be good game but it's so different than previous Diablos"
I agree with that.DIII will be good game but i don't think it will be true sequel.
Yeah. It's totally not going to be a "true sequel"
It's just going to continue the storyline, expand upon last games ideas, and deliver a much needed installment of our beloved franchise. Not only that, but they're going to do this with a gorgeous new 3D engine, that delivers an emotional color scheme, rather then a bleak desolate - and somewhat uninteresting - settings we're all so used to.

So are you disappointed that the Lead Producer who seemed to be the biggest proponent of this perspective took off along with the Art Director a few months ago?
Yeah. It's totally not going to be a "true sequel"

I do not in any way believe this will be anything other than a true sequel. I can't wait for the fucking game. I've been waiting long enough as it is, shit.
However, I don't think the storyline, new installment, etc. is what the problem is. Any Diablo 3 would deliver that. What I'm worried about is HOW it's going to look and feel. If what people are saying, that only 4 guys from Diablo 2 are left, theres not a lot of room for them. I think they should be the ones saying "Hey, this is how it works" not this fat guy from Dawn of War. (I call him "fat guy" to illustrate the fact he's a flipping nobody.)
I will argue with the "bleak deoslate somewhat un-interesting" statement though. Sorry pal, if you've got a problem with morbid, bland, tasteless, disgusting, and dark and or gothic as a setting that recurs over and over again, then you aren't a Diablo player. I don't mean bland and tasteless as in "NOTHING". I mean bland and tasteless as in dry, sour, pukey, and just plain distraught. The world of Sanctuary is nothing short of a huge mess. Even its "jungles" are filled with curses and disgusting creatures... Not green grass and rainbows.

You make an incredibly excellent point. Infact, there is almost nothing to say towards this other than the very eerie fact that the people who wanted this new look, completely different from the other Diablo's mind you in almost every way (no light radius, bright colors, etc), and the main person who was heading this new look (art director) are gone now. All they've left behind is the shambles of their initial creation that it seems like the Diablo 3 team is too amateurish and just plain inept to deal with or change, so they give the fans the "We're professionals. We're sticking with rainbows and green grass." whereas Sanctuary is a place DEVOID of Rainbows and anything colorful. It's a corrupted, destroyed world they're turning into a fucking art festival. Or, I take that back, the people who LEFT, turned it into an art festival. An art festival with one rule "Color isn't the enemy, GUYZ, lulz, only the demons are." Against everything thats been said before about the world. Seems like all we need now is a few homosexual artists and Diablo 3 will be complete.

In fact i don't care about DIII anymore.Just waiting for the game's story. It could be interesting as we all see these guys are very imaginitive from what we've seen about DIII's colourful art and we-fucking-don't-care-you t-shirts so far
Hmm for the gameplay side maybe we'll see Diablo has a scary rainbow skill which makes you blind of it's shining colours for 10 seconds...Then it will be all grassy green again. But wait a moment...May be in DIII chars will be able to wear Really Over-Sized and Fashioned rainbow glasses to portect themselves from Diablo's hellish rainbow skill.Who knows
After we kill Diablo we will take his health globe on the air.At first it will make our health fullfilled but then....We will become cursed because of his health globe. So what curse is it?
The curse of rainbows ofc. From that moment we have to play with shiny rainbows.....
I can feel true Diablo feel like the fat one said in an interview...
Diablo - Lord of Rainbows is back from Azero...Uhmm sorry ofc he is back from HELL..

The differences from wc2 and wc3 is huge.....wc3 is almost completely centered around your hero.....and was much harder in the fact it was a VERY hardcore micro management RTS when compared to wc2
^^^^
He's totally right; I owned the first warcraft and warcraft 2 and expansion and I finally got three and I was really taken back by it. It went from being a pure strategy game to being focused on the hero and like he also mentions had much more micro management. It's no use talking to you guys though; since all you'll probably do is disagree...no wonder I rarely ever post on these boards anymore.
What the fuck are you talking about? What else did they change from Warcraft 2 to Warcraft 3 other than Graphics, new units, new factions and adding in Heroes?
''Small'' list:
-In WC2 almost all units were equivalent. In WC3 not even the basic builders are equal and the basic builders difference changed the whole tech for each race. The only significant difference was the spellcasters wich had different spells (ogre>paladin and mage>dk).
-In WC2 we have one more resource (oil) wich must be taked in the ocean. For that reason, the naval battles was very important once if you could harass your enemies oil suply you basically dominate the ocean and have a insane mobility in the map . Wc3 don't even have naval battles.
-The orc basic ground strategy was rush ogre mages for bloodlust. The humans basic strategy was make invisible DDS and blizzarders harassing the orcs until death. None of those strategies have any possible place place in Wc3 (rush spellcasters alone in Wc3 is sensless once all casters are suportive units, don't have any offensive power like WC2's casters).
-The races don't have just new unities. The units are different for god sake. Here is the differences:
* In Wc2 footman and grunt had the same value. In WC3 a grunt is a much stronger unit then a footman, but much expansive.
* In Wc2 human archers were fragile but had a long range. Wc3 rifleman are a very resistent unit for a early game battle.
* In Wc2 paladins were a strong melee with a scouting abilitiy, a Death Knight counter and a after-battle healing ability. In WC3 paladins are a hero unit with low damage and a battle healing ability (the after healing belong to the priest).
* In Wc2 the mage unit were a insane massive damage dealer. In WC3 the archmage are a summoner and the soc a suport unit.
* In WC2 grunts were a light early game unit. In Wc3 grunts were freaking strong and expansive, been good even in a late game situation.
* In WC2 Ogre mages were a powerfull melee with a rune (land mine) nad bloodlust orc unity. In Wc3 bloodlust belongs to a fragile caster and mines are a item(!!).
* In Wc2 Death Knights were a massive damage dealer unit, like a human mage. In WC3 Death Knihgts belong to a another faction and are a tanker/battle healer.
* In Wc3 orcs don't have a flying scout unit like the Gob Zeppelin.
* Non human and orc have the suicidal siege unit (DDS and Zapper).
-In WC3 we have neutral creeps in the maps and guarding the mine. For that hero in WC3 a avarage time battle, ppl had control over 2~3 mines, but in WC2 ppl taked control of all mines in the battle as a main priority due the not existnt of creeps guarding it.
-In WC3 we can equip our heros with items and even use some in our units. For that many races used items to heal units in early game (healing salve, scroll of regen). In WC2 humans had to get a tier 3 unit (paladin) for healing and orcs just couldn't heal thenself no matter what.
-In WC3 the battles involves a much much smaller number of units. (The number of units involved are one of the most important characteristic of a RTS).
-The units and building HP in WC3 had a different propotion to the units damage (were much more resistent). It changed the whole kind of micromanagement involved and the multiplayer strategies.
-The cost/resource gettered proportion in those games are 100% different. In Wc2 you gettered tier 3 in most matchs. In Wc3 only the late games match ended up in high tier units.
-The humans/orcs had much more buildings in Wc2 and Wc3. It totally changed the tech, wich is the first step in any RTS (and changing the first step causes the following steps to also be different).
-And the most important: The warcraft 2 strategies are ALL TOTALLY different from WC3 strategies, nothing you learn in WC2 can be applied in WC3 and nothing you learn in WC2 can be applied in WC2, those are two, separeted, totally different games.
I know Blizz wont change anything no matter what we say here.
I would bet there are few folks on the team who comb the official forums and quite possibly this site. After all Blizzard has a link to it from Diablo III's official page. Sites like this can be useful when you want to make sure you didn't forget something, a fresh second pair of eye if you will. When your head is stuck in a project all day sometimes outside input is good for reminding you of stuff or giving you a different perspective.
You are right they won't change a position or theme they have already decided on but I wouldn't be surprised if an artist or developer trying to work out a problem they were banging their head against for a few days might take a mental break and hit the forumns for fresh perspective.
At least I do that when I'm coding a web page or scripting something and get stuck and need to see how other approached a similar problem, I hit certain site or use 'The Google'.
There are quite a few people that worked on d2 i know at least working on d3 take for example the blizzcast 6 where the guy who did the art design for meph and the druid is talking about the art in d3... these guys are not inexperienced... look at blizz job site and look at the requirements to get a job. Alot of people seam to just want another expansion to diablo 2 and not a Diablo 3 it seams like... LOL. They want everything the same! Its time to step the game up like getting rid of the junk that was in diablo 2... and to those of you who say the guys at flagship werent rushed with d2 they were... watch the creating of HG:L vid and they make alot comments about the release of d1 and d2 compared to HG:L
