i like bosses having finishing moves but if characters did it woul be just like playing your friends in supersmash and them always using the same highpowered attack... horrible idea

OoOoOoh this would be a great idea. I hope Blizzard implements this in some way or another.
You probably wouldn't be doing it too often, because obviously if you do it while fighting more then one guy you'll be attacked during the animation. Unless of course the animation is fast.. lol. Just my 2 cents. If they do this it'd be sweet if they have a lot of randomized finishers, just so it won't get boring. Slicing dudes clean in half would be sick, adding finishers to PVP would be even more sicker.
PS: Of course it should be limited to when the guy is very low on health..
Were talking cinematic 6 second finishing moves aren't we ? Maybe I've been thinking differently this whole time. I guess people are discussing finishing moves that are more minor and shorter done on normal mobs, or on the leader of the specific mob or singled out.
If it were then it would be a problem, but the way I laid it out, with the detrimental effects, you'd only wish to use it sparingly and take out tough bosses/monsters to dispatch them quicker than it would normally have taken.
Ohhh- you mean it as like another button/control or a kind of semi-skill to use? I was thinking you meant it like other people were talking about it- when an enemy gets near death or dies.

My assassin routinely works up the combo points needed to use her skills, even though she one shots the weaker things in Hell. Not sure how this is a problem.

As long as the finishing moves prevent the other mobs from attacking during the move. Meaning the character is immune until the move is finished I'd say yes!
Finishing move is a very good idea, but I think it should just happen by chance.
I'm kinda looking at it like D2, once in a while demons blow up when they're frozen. So once in a while your char will pwn the mob.
Or, there is like a rage system thing. Like when you're stuck in 50 mobs, and you constantly recycle between a few skills and sucessfully damage or kill the mob, you will trigger another animation where you cast or attack differently. So an example would be a barb using sesimic slam, whirlwind and ground stomp. He would recycle these 3 skills on 50 mobs surrounding him, and after killing and damaging a certain number of mobs, instead of just spinning around with whirlwind, he would trigger a more different animation of whirlwind, and the mobs would fly a few feet away from you. Or when you use ground stomp, instead of one foot, you smash the ground with both your hands. So you get the sense that the barb is raging up and "on fire".
But my favourite would be sorta of an AOE finishing move. So sometimes you would just trigger a finishing move on a mob. But sometimes when you're surrounding by mobs, instead of just doing a regular finishing move on the mob, you would smash the mob into other mobs, causing them to fall or lose health.
My finishing move would involve grabbing your nearest enemy and using them as a weapon against the next nearest one.
It would cause fear in all the rest.
I think the one I have always liked the idea of is me ripping out a fallens spine, then impaling another one through the stomach with the spine. :thumbsup:

Is it? lol no wonder I liked the idea so much Sub Zero was my my favorite MK character. Seriously though I never knew he did that...I just put what I thought would be a awesome move.
