Come to think of it, there's only been two times in Diablo II where I haven't been rushed. The two times I didn't get rushed was when I didn't want to get rushed so I could experience the acts for what they were meant to be. If they implement some sore of anti-rush system, I would be very happy, It would make completing the game much more meaningful in my opinion.
I never liked how people did runs and rushed through D2/LOD. It cheapened the game and made it seem like a chore. It made me think, "what's the point?". Plus it looked like no one was having fun, they just "had to do it" to power level, and for what? To keep leveling?
And similarly, power-leveling was just wrong. Why not go through each cave and area with buddies and really level up the real way? Not cheat and get help so you can leach.
To rectify this, blizz needs to introduce better quests, more quests, char specific quests (as they are), and randomized quests.
I have faith in them that they don't want their game cheapened and routinized like D2.
Comments?
Why do you even care lol, if you don't like then don't do it. Is not like it affects you in some way when peeps do this.
Rushing pretty much ruined the D2 experience... anyone remember going through the full game with a team the first time around? That was fun as hell, fighting monsters, trying to survive and hoping the boss wouldnt kill you. They should make it so that rushing is harder, and that you and everyone will have to rush to where the boss is, not some lame hammerbot teleporting there in 10 seconds and making a portal.

Didn't ruin a thing for me. I play to this day, and mf to this day with my lightning Sorc... Just because you dont like a feature about the game doesn't make the feature wrong.. Time is not a luxury for everyone, especially when it comes to gaming, and I'd like to be a factor in the game without investing hours on end each day to level my character up, or even find some cool items. This is why rushing, and mf'ing should stay.

well put man. they do need to put in a TON more things to do besides mindlessly bashing thru dungeons over and over again. and they should make it so that the player would want to progress to the next thing, not stay back and do the same thing over and over again just to lvl up, or leech, or whatever. its more of a psychological thing tho.
it might even be a good idea if they put in activities that are non-combat.
Nothing got me fired up like a good cow run! I hope they make runs more challenging and interesting, but that should definitely be an aspect of the game.
Our guild used to do iron man challenge, lol, and it was fun!!!
Basically, this is what we do.
1. Create a new character.
2. Play that character using only item you pick up and nothing else (no transfer item from other character).
3. 8 of us enter the game together, but each on his own.....
4. see who die first, and who win the cup aka reach the end of the race and kill Diablo.
I'm sure Blizzard will implement the same system they did in D2 when lower level characters couldn't get experience from monsters that were a certain level higher.
However, to take out runs would severely ruin the replay value of the game.
Quoted for Agreement... The MF runs/rushes etc. are what really kept me interested in the game to begin with.

Okay.
Just because you dont like a feature about the game doesn't make the feature wrong..
No, but our reasons that caused us to "like" or not to "like a feature about the game" does make the feature right, or wrong.

So basically, due to its inefficiency regarding time, you do not want to play the game it is meant to be played.
I can actually respect this, but to me and many others, it is more fun to play co-op, the way it's supposed to be played. However, due to the raw efficiency of rushes and runs, that method of play is at a significant disadvantage. This is what people here are complaining about. Stay a while, and listen. ^^
I don't care if people rush to become stronger and better than others, I am a single player kind of person, so if they did implement something to stifle this they should implement it through Battlenet, not in the entire game. (I'm refering to trying to stifle people only playing areas to gain massive xp to be better at PvP). I liked doing runs to get set and unique items, and xp, but they did become too repetitive at times. But it is after all our choice if we want to keep doing runs or move on in the game. (different difficulty, etc.)

How exactly is it at bigger disadvantage to you? At any point in time you can level your char up via. rushing, you just choose not to do it this way.. You're not forced to do it, you're not forced not to do it. Why is this so hard for you to accept? If anyone is at disadvantage at all of this is people like me.. Why? Because we have no choice, we must use this feature in order to stay a factor in the game.. You on the other hand don't have to do that. You can take your time, do it, or you can rush your char.. I don't see how you're at a disadvantage in comparison to me..

I actually like that idea.. i would just hope that you have to complete the game and max one character untill you can instantly create a max lvl pvp char.. it would be interesting to see how blizz goes about it.
you can always not rush....but rushing and mfin for me was what made me love the game so much...dont get me wrong questing and doin everything is fun when you start out but when you do it so much it gets repetative..
In my opinion, rushes should be HC style. Rushing should be dangerous. Boss damage should scale, etc. HC rushing takes time because in hell and NM the Mobs are dangerous, especially if not well geared.
The best solution is make the game longer, and have elite mobs scale. Then those who want to rush can, and those that dont are not at a dissadvantage. Often HC players that go through normally go just as fast as the rushing crew in hell and NM, and they get experience at the same time.
Likewise, without rushing the game will lose a lot of replayability.

How many times has this been said?
Howsabout we stop repeating this and bring up a point that has not already been stated?

It ruins the economy and creates a deficit of players to play with.
