Don't worry, after the Activision accountants add up the cost of spending extra months localizing content for the German and Chinese censors, all of that stuff will be gone. At least they're thinking ahead - notice how the dead bodies are gone in a matter of seconds?
Blizzard still operates on a level of strict autonomy. The bodies are gone because of the amount of processing power is would take to calculate the physics on the masses of dead corpses everywhere if they stayed.
No. They created Mythos to be made in a similar vain to Diablo. They created Hellgate by using the atmosphere they created in Diablo while trying something new out. The only reason the game failed was because of:
1. A lack of LAN.
2. A lack of an open b-net style of server (single player characters are allowed).
3. New content supplied by a monthly fee.
This doesn't work very well in a small game.
Lots of people don't understand stuff like this, though.
The game was a buggy, laggy, CPU killing machine when it was released. It was decent from a gameplay perspective but the skills were rather boring and there were so many bugs with the different classes it made the game unplayable. I was really looking forward to it as well, and played it in the beta and after its release.

Actually you can't know, because some of the original developers stayed at Blizzard, some went for Flagship Studios, Castaway Entertainment, L5 Games.
If each of the developers took a part and was responsible for a different successful part of the game, then they all need to work together, with the same resources, and under the same influence of Blizzard(polishing everything) to create a good sequel to D2.
I still think that if Blizzard North would exist today, they'd probably design the D3 in a more of diablo-ish way.
Hellgate was obviously released before it was done. I think EA was publishing their game so sit down and think for a minute... Who rushed the game because they wanted to make a quick buck.. Oh wait, EA does that all the time.
I've watched the trailer over five times and I haven't seen the rainbow...probably, because I could care less that it was there. I'm playing D2 again, after many years, and the desert area is obviously sunlight during the day. So, the world of Diablo has areas of sunlight, which means that not every area looks like a severe thunderstorm could happen at any minute.
When you mix mist and sunlight you can get rainbows, so what? I like the art direction, although I would like some form of light radius and change the blue/green stones, but overall I like the way it looks, both inside and out. I can't wait to play it and hope it comes out sooner rather than later.
i bought and played hellgate fro a bit....i figured...well damn its from the people that made DIABLO!!!....and yeah...just couldn't get past all the bugs, bad things put in, and so on...oh and MONTHLY FRIKKIN FE!! stupid flagship
It had potential, but lacked alot, including the amount of tilesets...ick!
They said the reason they scrapped the version of D3 that Blizz North was working on before they split was because it didnt meet expactions.. so.. im not too keen on brining them back. Maybe the guys who did Guild Wars because that's a quality game, but Djinn looks like a Diablo 2 rip (even has the same orbs) and we all know about Flagship.. Same with Castaway.

"And the Evil that was once vanquished shall rise anew! Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent, and terror shall consume they that dwell upon the earth! The sky shall rain fire, and the seas will become as blood! The righteous shall fall before the wicked, and the lord of creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!"
