The only Demon I really want to see come back is the Steel Lords from Diablo 1. It really sucked that they didn't come back in Diablo 2 because they seriously were the bad-est dudes in the game. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Hidden come back as well as
I agree...Steel Lords, the Hidden, also I loved the Succubus and the Balrogs.
Yeah I do hope they bring the succubi back since they were quite devastating ranged monsters due to their magic nature. Plus the fact that they were good eye candy, 3D will be promising. Now if they do decided to do this, I certainly wish they would get a better AI then D2. I've been playing both D1 and D2 recently and I found that the ranged monsters of D1 had good AI and would actually run away/dodge the melee char efficiently. Added the fact that your char couldn't run, it really made for a hard game at some points.
In D2, most of the ranged monster would simply stand there while you were bashing on them. Maybe apart from those fire imps in Act 5 or the spear cats. But then they wouldn't do so fast enough since your char was X times faster than any monsters. In general, they were not as much of a challenge in D2 as they were in D1 for a melee char. So hopefully they can find a way to put some good AI on ranged monsters and create challenging situations that will force us to use more strategy than brawn in order to overcome.

Collossi (spelling?): Some really huge monster that take forever to kill, like small mini bosses.
Ghosts: More like transparent floating zombies, but act like like those thinks from Arcane Sanctuary in Diablo 2.
Hand Creatures: You all played Super Smash Brothers and know Master Hand. Well I was kind of thinking of that but instead it doesn't float and its a huge zombie hand, like the ones from Zelda OoT.
I liked those ghoul's that just appear out of thin air from D1, OH also more please she demons which died with all that bent booty in the air. Hilarious

I'd like to see something like those miniature hand creatures in Zelda that would grab your throat. They would scurry around you and then leap up and grab you by the throat and you would have to cast some protection spell or something to get them off.
Oh, and you have to have Fallen. Every diablo game has had Fallen. D3 has to as well. Period.
Oh, and I love the idea of the reaper.
Oh, and maybe there can be guess apparent of Starcraft and Warcraft characters. You could see Thrall and Kerrigan fighting with each other at one random point for who knows why. I think that would be hilarious. (Of course, Thrall has to win, because he's Thrall, and yea. Go Thrall!)
Oh and maybe you could have a monster fly over you occassionally and drop a random monster, from a fallen to an undead giant. Now that would be cool.
Oh, and I think that some monsters should be able to literally cut you in half, or cut your head off. Just think that would be awesome. It would suck to be cut in half but if your fighting and your friend randomly is cut in half, everybody would burst out laughing. Seriously, that would be awsome. Maybe give fallen a 7.5% chance to do that if you have 5% health or less.. Honestly can you imagine how amazing that would look though? A guy is cut in half? (Sorry, got into a little thing there...)
I want large hulking monsters. I want monsters that can literally knock the character around.
The act 4 demon monsters were cool.
I don't want pint sized midgets running around.
Large serpent like demons would be cool

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"Fool! You have just ensured the doom of this world. You cannot even begin to imagine what you've set in motion this day. Go to the Temple of Light, in the eastern ciry of Kurast. There you will find the gate to Hell opened before you. You must find the courage to step through that gate Marius. Take the stone you hold to the Hellforge, where it will be destroyed. Now run! Take the stone and run!"
i Would love to see an pact/group of necromancer from D2 that have decided to join Diablo.they still roam with their minions 20 years later, but have been misformed by there Lord Diablo.
or a band of fallen paladins.
We will have evil cultists as enemy o.o' thats allmost what you want.
I would like to see the Hidden from D1 or any new monster that becomes invisible and try to sneak attack you. It would be alsome if we face those enemies ,at least one time, in a place with water (a underground river maybe) and their steps appear in the water.
Also other cool monster from D1 was the advocates, with fireball + teleport combo. They were really challenging.
From D2 i want back the Flesh Demons from act 4, the Pit/Venom Lords and the Succubus.
But i also want lots of new monsters. In terms of art i would like to see semi naked/naked demons (both male and famale) bathed in blood and with lots of jewels and gold ornaments. No i'm not a perv blood cultist, but for me hell is not hell with not involve all things condeneed by christianism and other religions, like torture/sadism, greed and lust. The torture part is the only ''hellish element'' explored in diablo, i would like to see more of the other.
Finnaly i would like to see a new type of monsters: Angels. We could fight fallen angel, with black wings, and fallen archengals with Red or purple tentacle-like wings.
It would be cool to have Reziarfg in diablo 3, he looks awfully familiar of the starcraft "mutalisk"

aside from the monsters they can't possibly do without , these are the guys I'd like to kill some more:
Everyone's favourite. The butcher is a sadistic creature... that we all bloody love to bits. I loved the overlords in D1, and missed them in D2. And even the 2 overlord bosses that were in D2 were no butcher.
The good old acid beast/poison spitter things. How much I hated them back in the day, but I really missed thim in D2
Horned daemon/obsidan lords/etc. Maybe they were softer then they should have been, but one of these charging in at you from nowhere was pretty scary.
Stalkers/Hiddens/etc. were a great idea. I loved the noise they made when they died, too. And the animation for that matter...
Goatmen. And not the D2 version, please.
Balrogs, etc. They were just cool. In a firebreathing way.
The vipers were another excelent monster that wasn't quite as good in D3. Chopping though these in hell was always satisfying.
Steel Lords/Blood Knights/etc. were so damn cool. They looked cool, sounded cool, and died probably in a cooler way than anything else in the game. Just don't bring back the oblivion knights of D2.
God they could be annoying if you were a warrior, but Succubus and their kin were great. With breasts bouncing, these made the experience more real, as I bet real evil hell bitches don't wear a bra either.
The fallen were one of the monsters that got better in D2. Now I can't imagine Diablo without them.
The blunderbore and other ogre-things looked badass. They could do with being a bit tougher, but that's what sequels are for!
Duriel. Or at least some friends of his. That would be lovely.
I really liked the council members, and I'd love to have them in D3 in some way or another.
Genius. Suicide minions were easy to underestimate, and that could often lead to death.
Blood lords, etc. They really were ACTUAL MINOTAURS, and that's awsome.
I think that think that they should keep most of the monsters from Diablo 2 and 1 that were really successful and then add from that. So I like the list made by reform, but Duriel and the Butcher being there would make no sense, even though it would be pretty tight.
Recently finished D1 on all 3 characters and just started a new D2 game yesterday. I really appreciate D1 even more now. Most obvious is how much scarier D1 is than D2, it really was eerier. The music, monsters, sound effects, and environment were all eerier. The monsters in D1 were largely better too, for example the goats in D1 were far better than the D2 goats.
In many ways D1 was more balanced and less predictable than D2. D2 had so much treasure and gold it was disgusting, shrines and treasure chests everywhere! Even on a new game you knew where the monsters generally were going to attack you, in D1 you can still get taken by surprise no matter how many times you play it. Despite D2 having more treasure, it was also more predictable as well, you knew pretty much what to expect.
Not being able to run was a plus and con at the same time in D1, on one hand you couldn’t as easily get away from the monsters, and it seemed to me in D1 they chased you more. The terrible part was the amount of time it took to get to Adria’s shack or if you forgot a town portal or didn’t have enough mana to create one, that got old fast.
Granted D1 was underground the whole time, I have to say I liked the D1 dungeons better than ones in D2 until you got to level 8 just before you hit the caverns and they got a little less realistic.
I really hope D3 takes on more of D1 qualities in these respects. IMO that is what got people into the game.
Wish list for D3
1) Scarier less predictable more startling monsters, some need to be able to chase you down too and be driven to get you
2) Environments need to be eerier too, New Tristram’s art would be a good measure for that
3) Much wider array of unique items not only in ability but in look
4) All treasure needs be harder to find, less common, so you can appreciate it more.
5) Gold needs to be worth more, and adding some silver would be cool too.

Diablo 3 should be a combination of Diablo 1 and 2, taking what's best about each game and putting it together, so like take huge landscapes and colorful areas from Diablo 2 and dark, small, and depressing areas form Diablo 1 and then combining it to make a really well balanced game. You have to realize that Diablo 1 had terrible multiplayer and didn't really allow you to do much besides go in the dungeons. I personally thought that Diablo 1 and 2 were equally good, each having pros and cons.
I also think you're putting too much criticism on Diablo 2, which I think is highly unfair as Diablo 2 was way more playable and mroe addicting than Diablo 1, and is still played way more than Diablo 1, even though it's been like 6 years.

Thanks!
Aye, you're right deathMars. That's the problem with Duriel. Duriel is one of the four Lesser Evils, the other 3 being Azmodan, Belial, and Andariel, so I'm skeptical over weather their may be more daemons that take the same form as Duriel, but it's not unreasonable. Litith took the same form as Andariel, for example.
Although let's not forget this game will be the 3rd time we have killed Diablo, and the second time we have killed Leoric, so it's not unreasonable that other past bosses could return somehow.
The butcher could go by the same logic, or just have a new overlord who happens to like cleavers and fresh meat aswell. His cousin, perhaps.
If we face the Butcher, make it so he's not in the cathedral, like he's some lost demon lord in the middle of the willderness surrounded by zombie workers who have axes and shovels, like Murderface's flesh factory's minions ideas. That would be tight.
