The main argument people have against Diablo 3 being made by blizzard is that a lot of the creators have left the company. If anyone knows anything about Computer game companies they know this has happened many times in the past and the original company continues to make games for a franchise.
Another argument is that blizzard is busy with World of warcraft, well, blizzard has more then one team working on games in the company and they have even announced they are working on 2 un-named projects.
Step back for a second and consider this, Diablo 2 sold 1 million copies in 2 weeks and went on to sell a total of 7 million copies. They essentially have a license to print money by releasing a Diablo 3.
Honestly, if Blizzard has the man power, the rights to a franchise that broke all kind of game selling records and a loyal fan base of a couple million that WANT them to make a Diablo 3, and will buy the game why wouldn't they? I believe the onus is on the non-believers at this point to make a solid argument why Blizzard would be silly enough not to make a Diablo 3.

E3 06: Blizzard confirms multiple games in the works
Console release for new titles being considered, PS3 and Xbox 360 being examined as possible platforms.
By Curt Feldman, Brendan Sinclair,
LOS ANGELES--Despite the overwhelming worldwide success of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment is still looking beyond the franchise to other opportunities.
When asked by GameSpot if the Warcraft universe was all that's left for the company to mine, chief operating officer Paul Sams said, "No. Absolutely not. We have multiple games in development, currently, they are just not announced...to the outside world--and the reality of it is--we are laser focused on what is the thing right then, but there's a ton of additional focus being put toward these other [games] that are in development."
Reflecting on the existing franchises, Sams emphasized, "World of Warcraft and the Warcraft franchise is not the last and the only franchise we are going to operate within. We have two other very, very key franchises to our company's history and to our company's future success. The Diablo and Starcraft franchises are of the utmost importance to us as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new franchise from us at some time in the future; there's certainly a desire to do so.
"
A PR rep later expanded on Sams' statement, clarifying that not only were there "multiple games" in development, but that Blizzard was considering "multiple platforms" for those titles. The spokesperson confirmed that the company was looking at both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but that a decision as to which platform might get the nod had not been made.
In fact, email blizzard asking about diablo3, they sen
t you a reply basically saying that they plan on revisiting the diablo franchise, although they havent made any announcment.
Though I hate to say it, I don't think they would buy that many servers for Diablo 3, yet... that seems a bit overkill for a game that won't see open beta for probably a long peroid of time.
1,500 opteron servers is overkill for ANYTHING. As a network admin and server admin, I know how well opterons work, and how they are suppost to be deployed. It's really hard knowing what blizzard wants to really use them for... I could only imagine... 100 MAX being used for WoW.. Unless they are replacing all of their servers, in which case I guess 400 could be used... 1,500 is just way too many for any company to buy.
Although, they could also just be getting a very good bulk deal on them... but buying servers then waiting to use them is just plan stupid, as you're better off buying somthing current.
wow had 298 servers, they planned on doubling that amound leaving 900 servers lying around.

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
that was my point... we got clues to tell us they're making the game. Just wait for the official statements, they know when they let something leak. Nothing Blizzard lets out is by accident.
(the majority of the servers could be used for WoW, tho. They said they'd replace all older ones and each realm will have at least 1 new continent server plus some instance servers).
well, what would they do with the old ones?? and arent those new servers supposed to be like "WWOOOWWW!!!!!"??? i still think they are too many servers to not use for diablo3. it could be very likely that they are setting up these servers for the massive flood of players to diablo3 when it comes out. it would be smart to get the whole infrastructure finished and polished before releasing it to the public. when it comes to blizzard, my loyalty sees beyond the torture they are currently putting us through, but eventually we will have diablo 3 and we will all get drunk the night its announced, while acid takes a major crap as he promised. ^^
what i'm saying about the servers is that it will take a big load of servers to replace the majority of the older ones. I really hope that a good part of these opteron will be for the multiplayer for Diablo 3, but i dont hope too much about it. As i said, each realm will have at least 2 servers added (if none gets replaced) and in Europe only we got over 50 realms. Now think of US and Asia and u'll know what i mean (even if Asia will get it a bit later).
I'd just like to share my opinion that if ANYONE has recieved anything from general ryan should atleast mention they have got SOME info. Whether the info seems genuine or fake is not important. A request to the mods (or whoever) that please, atleast state whether or not you have recieved ANY info from general ryan. It would also help if you could state what form is the info in. ie if it is screenshots, any official document or release, or if it is general ryan's own description to what he saw. This would be most useful and would help us all understand if things have moved at all from the time ryan offered to send info. Being absolutely silent about it leaves everyone else completely in the dark.
this info is fake, if he has seen the game or knows someone that has PLAYED it, as he claims, he would at least know what kind of a game it is (fps-style, rpg, d2 style), instead of just making up races. he is doing this just to get a rise out of us, it is fake, think about it.
I am one of the many hopeful for another installment in the Diablo series. This particular thread has caught my eye and I couldn't help but sign up. I still have faith in you Ryan.
You must realize though, that none of us know who's really behind the computer they post from and that anyone could be lying about anything, so you should expect flaming when posting something like this.
However... I still have faith in you Ryan. I don't 100% believe you, but I will remain hopeful until there is some solid evidence.
aside from this... I really hope that Diablo III will incorporate a more sophisticated system for tracking/finding/preventing duplicated and hacked items. This is the reason I feel like quitting Diablo II.
The USWest Ladder players have been extremely spoiled by dupers. Now everybody expects 2-3 high runes for their measely shako or frostburns.
Good luck with you and your findings Ryan. I hope to hear from you, Silver, or Elven, soon.
uhg just post the info you found. whether it's true or not it wouldnt make it any different from the 'suggested' or 'wanted' things posted in the other forums so i don't see any harm in just telling us....
by this i mean if ryan said a new char was, lets say, a "hunter," well im sure in new class threads it's been posted like a hundred times; so just tell us the info!!!

Ok...he has sent the information to Lord Silver and Elfen Lied. Lord Silver just stated that a few posts back. Maybe you should read the thread before you go and post your naive thoughts down. It's ok...use effort.

ok, i found your post. a LOT further back from where i started reading before i made my comment. sorry man...
the char sound kinda cool, other kinda rediculous (chronomancer?). but like you said it's not supposed to be taken 100% as truth.

this thingo is really long. ah well. yeh the char info was good but i dunno i still think the time traveling is a bit wack- glad someone else agrees unwritten law. guys diablo isnt gonna come out for a while. poor us:( oh well. i just want them to say that they are working on it and i will be all goooood. yeh thats all i got. and all i think anyone can say at the moment cause no evidence is going to come out till blizzard wants it to.
is this guy for real? the last time i heared of that class it was in Neverwinter Nights 2. Same with what i've heared about stopping time and the arguement about single and multiplayer. Can it be that he was playing a wrong game?
Otherwise it appears he takes ideas from other games. Blizzard doesnt usually do that (except of the classes that have been there forever like warrior, ranger - amazon -, mage - sorceress - etc).
I've given it alot of thought... and this does start to sound like a load of crap. At first I was shocked and was believing this, but it does sound very sketchy.
Like someone posted earlier (too many pages to sift through and find it) that Ryan said that his source "stole" a copy. Then later said they gave the game out to blizzard employee's KIDS to play a [most likely going to be M-rated game] and kids cannot keep their mouths shut.
Alot of this seems veeeerry sketchy to me.
Also, it is not like blizzard to take ideas from any other game, they are completely origonal with everything they do! There's no way they would take character classes from guild wars or never winter nights...
What does impress me however, is Darkjay's post. That is the MOST evidence I have seen towards existence of Diablo III than anything. I actually did a whois on those domains, and the e-mails of the owners of the websites do indeed have @blizzard.com. Kudos to you Darkjay!
Char LIst
Chronomancer-Chrono meaning "time". Soruce didn't have time to try out.
Monster Tamer-skills for taming demons and others.
Templar-More atuned to melee combat. combat masteries like barbarian.
Warlock-Male sorcerer. earth/wind/psyonic
Fighter-Hand to hand combat. Recieves bonuses without any weapons or shields. Skills much like assassin but no charge up. Also the source said that u could still use all existing d2 and d2 lod chars in d3 and that u could switch d2 chars over into diablo 3 (SOmehwhat sounds like and expansion to d2 lod to me)
The source also said that the game was a bit glitchy but this could possibly be from the new havok 4 system that was intrigrated
The game starts were you are left off in Horagath. Rejoice for prime evils banished, however, other evils walk the earth.
also the source said that d3 would include alot more char detail as in char movement for certain actions
exp u drink a potion ur char actually grabs potion from belt and drinks it on screen
Ryan also said he would be Visiting his source again and would be relaying more evidence (possible screenies) to myself as/if he recieves them
He stated that the programming in the game wouldnt allow screenies to be taken(as i have heard of this in most beta/demo games)
but i told him digital camera or screen shot program ect would work fine
Like i said I blieve it to be true but must put a warning saying it might not be because of the lack of hard evidence and to cover everyones ass's
Well before u go off flaming me. read everything i have to say. first of all. ryan i do apologize for my rude behavior. and here is y. my sourc told me 2 chars. and 3 of them r currently being held secret by the ceo the manager and 2 unnamed people. altho as u can all see it was leaked. how u say? the last manager was fired for leaking info. not this stuff. but serious stuff that somehow hasnt reached these pages yet. and wana know how long ago he was fired? close to 2weeks ago. intresting yes?
And to soothe some of u. the potion animation has been takin out. the d2 players on the team made sure of that. the havok is just a rumor however is not on d3. and sadly at the moment u CAN convert chars from d2 into d3. altho there is a current vote going on whether to change it or not. the kids they do have testing it dont agree with converting. and yes they do have kids testing it. but not ur lil 10 yr old kids. 15-18 or so im sure. and they get paid to do this testing which means they have a legal contract means they need to shut the fuck up or blizzard sues them. so i think about covered it all? i for one can second most of wut ryan has said is true.
oh one last thing. the people they did happen to send the beta's to. they made sure they buffed the security on the game. and they also removed all camera's, webcam's and anything else might take a picture of their precious game.
one last thing. i got a time frame on when the game might be release. granted its not definate. they cud run into more bugs (they r fixing bugs right now btw) or they cud get lucky. but anywhere from 2-4 years. so u guys can sit on this for a minute. grab ur toilet paper some of u may need to wipe urself.

Sorry if this seems unwarranted but I just think it's really homo that this post is titled "Diablo III proof of existance!" and features over 40 pages of accusations all which fail to provide absoloutly any proof at all.
If the only 'proof' available at this time is someone's word that "it's in development", well we pretty knew that already. My interpretation of proof will be a screenshot, or an official announcement, or a video clip. Rest assured I want D3 as much as any of us, and like to believe it is in the works.
Also, if you are able to port D2 characters across, then surely the D2 classes would also be available in the new game to create from scratch, meaning they would have the exact same skill sets and characteristics; something I can't imagine happening.

Unless they are replacing all of their servers, in which case I guess 400 could be used... 1,500 is just way too many for any company to buy.
Although, they could also just be getting a very good bulk deal on them... but buying servers then waiting to use them is just plan stupid, as you're better off buying somthing current.
wow had 298 servers, they planned on doubling that amound leaving 900 servers lying around.

cyks; who is one of our forum members, has found that Blizzard on the 9th of December 2005 filed a trademark for Diablo.
A screen shot of the trademark page, and directions on how to get to that trademark page are posted below:

(the majority of the servers could be used for WoW, tho. They said they'd replace all older ones and each realm will have at least 1 new continent server plus some instance servers).
There is NO hard evidence. NO screen shots. NO 100% proof its legit
He has given myself and a few others char lists with a brief synopsis of char skills.
which i posted back some pages ago.
I hope to hear from you, Silver, or Elven, soon.
by this i mean if ryan said a new char was, lets say, a "hunter," well im sure in new class threads it's been posted like a hundred times; so just tell us the info!!!
"What man, anywhere under Heaven's high arch, has fought in such darkness, endured more misery or been harder pressed?"
-Beowulf
the char sound kinda cool, other kinda rediculous (chronomancer?). but like you said it's not supposed to be taken 100% as truth.
"What man, anywhere under Heaven's high arch, has fought in such darkness, endured more misery or been harder pressed?"
-Beowulf
is this guy for real? the last time i heared of that class it was in Neverwinter Nights 2.
Also the source said that u could still use all existing d2 and d2 lod chars in d3 and that u could switch d2 chars over into diablo 3
(SOmehwhat sounds like and expansion to d2 lod to me)
The source also said that the game was a bit glitchy but this could possibly be from the new havok 4 system that was intrigrated
Oh, Baron Carloseus lead the way to our victory. If we fail we may rise again stronger. The Slayers will find the way.
yea ive just confirmed everything ryan has been trying to tell us from my own source and it goes unheard. lol.
Oh, Baron Carloseus lead the way to our victory. If we fail we may rise again stronger. The Slayers will find the way.
