Yea but werewolves only come out when there is a full moon but in diablo the druid changes into him whenever not really the same but kinda as along as its cool how gives a shit
Hmm, as for another character type how about a alchemist? I don't know if it has already been said, probably has since there's about 70 pages or so that I didn't feel like reading. Hmmm hmmm what else what else I'm trying to think of another...how...about...well damn I've been sitting here for like 20 minutes and I couldn't think of anything else. Maybe just a pure, non-elemental, magic type guy, which has been said.

yes alchemist has been said before, i will do a repost of all char suggested thus far, soon, when a few more have been thought of.
and some lycanthropes can change without the aid of the moon, this has been stated many times is many locations before the movie underworld came out.
and yes lycanthrope is the correct name, lycans is just the underworld name.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
that idea has been said before in the form of a monk.
monks are martial artists, who use there fists to inflict damage on there enemies

this character isn't human but if diablo ever went mmorpg one day the Saber Cats would definately be a playable character. they only turned evil in diablo 2 because the prime evils, but mostly they traded with humans and lived along side them in secrecy.

another character could be a tribal hunter. primitive in nature like the barbarian, but specializes in bows, javelines, daggers, spears, clubs/maces, sheild abilities. it could also summon different kinds of creatures, like wildlife or spirits. and a final skill tree could be a mix or poison-damaging/healing auras and attacks.

I didnt read all the thread and sorry for copying anyones idea but the coolest thing for a char would be an angel and when he gets to a certain lvl he can transform into an archangel. That would be cool.
New char quik List -somewhere between 10 - 20 or so chars, keep some of the original classes and some new ones -more warrior, priest and mage types, there are lots of classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play; Anti-Paladin (anti-Paladin is not a necromancer) Archer (Ranger) (kinda like male amazon) Bard (not the hellfire version a good one) Bounty Hunter (adept at tracking/stalking) Corsair (powerful warrior thief) Crusader Dragoon Drifter or Nomad Fist Fighter Hellion (very powerful and demon like fighter but is human) Ninja (kinda like male assassin) Ranger Samurai (kensai from DND) Thief Wizard Slayer (adept and fighting enemies who specialize in using magic attacks) -some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells -there is really only 1 healer (paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classes, one of which is a kind of exorcist, good against demons and undead; Adept Alchemist (animates inanimate objects, creates weapons out of the elements around him an can create powerful concoctions) Cavalier Cleric Inquisitor Prior Monk (not the hellfire version a good one more like the DND version, unarmed, martial artist) Zealot Warrior Priest (think knight's templar with spells) -a new type of mage would be nice either a; Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells) Conjurer specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify) Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings Geomancer specializes in earth based magic Hydromancer specializes in water based magic Illusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells) Pyromancer specializes in fire based magic Necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death [but we already have 1] Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality Warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes) Alternatively, the Geo/Hydro/Pyromancer could be just the one Elementalist class and his skill trees are divided into Earth/Fire/Water based spells -definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes - choose male/female => choose class => choose faction heaven or hell, faction determines whether your char is light or dark, eg Paladin or Anti-Paladin (anti is kinda like the reverse, anti does not work for all classes some just have a good or bad version, where the good and bad versions arent complete opposites like the barb)

maybe this isnt the best one but there should be a slayer character that lives off of killing monsters like God of War. another option is to have a left hand right hand option. im left handed and grow tired playing game after game after game with characters only attack with their right hand. it grows on you after a lot of games.
i get where you are coming from but i think that is only for chars that cant dual weild weapons, when you can dual weild if you put a weapon in the left hand slot it is in the left hand of the char, also if the char uses a two handed weapon, they only ever hold it right handed.
play baldurs gate, there you can attack with a single handed weapon in either your left or your right, you cant however put a shield on your right hand though, only the left hand

yeah able to be an angel or a demon would be really nice but i'd still be a kind of mage i'd go all bartuc and continue his legacy like in Richard A. Knaak's book Legacy of Blood

You can tell the same lie a thousand times but it never gets any more true so close your eyes once more and once more believe that they all still believe in you......
i think a character with the ability to control time would be interesting, like to let him/her have the power to freeze the screen for a spilt second and move, or to completely slow down the game as a added bonus.
skill tree's would include:
Haste
Slow
Stop
Haste would have skills to increase the speed of time
Slow would have skills to decrease the speed of time
Stop would have only a few skills in it including completely stopping the game for 2-3 seconds, but not allowing anything to be cast during it or after it for 30 seconds, and it not being able to be recast until a minute.
The Time Character would have little to no attack damage, it would be completely relient on other characters to do damage and attack.
I Think in diablo 3 it will do its best to try and be balanced....but their will be more teams and more combinations of things.
could this thread finally be finished? every char idea seems to have been posted.

Cheese !
-somewhere between 10 - 20 or so chars, keep some of the original classes and some new ones
-more warrior, priest and mage types, there are lots of classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play;
Anti-Paladin (anti-Paladin is not a necromancer)
Archer (Ranger) (kinda like male amazon)
Bard (not the hellfire version a good one)
Bounty Hunter (adept at tracking/stalking)
Corsair (powerful warrior thief)
Crusader
Dragoon
Drifter or Nomad
Fist Fighter
Hellion (very powerful and demon like fighter but is human)
Ninja (kinda like male assassin)
Ranger
Samurai (kensai from DND)
Thief
Wizard Slayer (adept and fighting enemies who specialize in using magic attacks)
-some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells
-there is really only 1 healer (paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classes, one of which is a kind of exorcist, good against demons and undead;
Adept
Alchemist (animates inanimate objects, creates weapons out of the elements around him an can create powerful concoctions)
Cavalier
Cleric
Inquisitor
Prior
Monk (not the hellfire version a good one more like the DND version, unarmed, martial artist)
Zealot
Warrior Priest (think knight's templar with spells)
-a new type of mage would be nice either a;
Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells)
Conjurer specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him
Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify)
Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings
Geomancer specializes in earth based magic
Hydromancer specializes in water based magic
Illusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead
Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells)
Pyromancer specializes in fire based magic
Necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death [but we already have 1]
Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality
Warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes)
Alternatively, the Geo/Hydro/Pyromancer could be just the one Elementalist class and his skill trees are divided into Earth/Fire/Water based spells
-definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes
- choose male/female => choose class => choose faction heaven or hell, faction determines whether your char is light or dark, eg Paladin or Anti-Paladin (anti is kinda like the reverse, anti does not work for all classes some just have a good or bad version, where the good and bad versions arent complete opposites like the barb)
