Build im thinking of farming Hell with. Wondering if this is a viable build or if the more cookie cutter builds are just way too good. http://us.battle.net...YfVR!fWc!YZZcaY
Interested if the passive skill beserker rage applies to weapon throw, as in you are at 120 rage and you have 25% increased damage on your weapon throw. Quite good group utility also with Ignore pain for group and Ground stomp to group up enemies for aoe.
Also want any comments/criticisms.
Keep in mind this is a build for Hell and not Inferno.
The build definitely looks interesting, I'm interested to see how quickly you could build fury with that build though since it seems like main damage source will be from Dread Bomb. Maybe you could switch bash to cleave with +3 fury rune for more fury generation? Especially since Dread bomb is 12 yard aoe, you'll most likely be using it in aoe packs.
Aoe dps from cleave/revenge/12yard dreadbomb will be ok combined with Groundstomp pulling all mobs within 24 yards towards me. Also Furious charge being off cooldown most of the time as i intend on hitting multiple targets with it is decent aoe aswell. But most aoe dps will come from group mates as this is a group build. Will have singletarget dps aswell. More of an allround build.
Boss fights intend on cycling 120 fury then dread bombing boss. cycling that. Thats one of the reasons i choise frenzy over cleave. i would get more single target dps and faster fury gain in a single target fight.
okay quick question because i'm wondering about the wording on dread bomb. Does the main target of weapon throw take the extra dmg?
Expend all remaining Fury to throw a corpse which inflicts an additional 3% weapon damage for each point of Fury expended to all enemies within 12 yards of the target.
i mean it'll obviously do alot of aoe dmg and i don't really see anything wrong with the rest of the build. i'm just wondering cause if he's fighting a boss and there's no other mobs around. will weapon throw be worth using against 1 target? cause i'm getting that the main target takes the normal damage and the mobs around that target take the aoe dmg or am i reading that wrong?
All targets within 12 yards means just that. all targets including the target. And yeah that was my original question was, would the ~420% dread bomb hits every ~10 seconds outweigh the damage of having whirlwind and other passives.
actually the rotation would not be that difficult. Bash for single target and furious charge whenever there's multiple mobs. the Rune will guarantee a very low CD when charging more then 3 mobs. The knockback effect will also reduce incoming damage. Revenge when up for aoe dmg and heals. Once at full fury group up the mobs and groundstomp to pull them in and stun, then use weapon throw. rinse and repeat....i don't see why that would be difficult. unless your thinking he's gonna stand there and bash till full fury and then do weapon throw. i'd group mobs up and charge...keep doing that till full fury or revenge. only range mobs would be hitting continously.
he also has ignore pain for a Defensive CD if he really needs it. plus it's for hell...i know hell is pretty difficult but it's still easier then inferno and i'm not gonna be extremely critical unless it's specifically for inferno.
Is it just me or does dread bomb seem kinda "meh"? To me it just looks like way to much fury for the damage it does, or am I missing something?
the way I understand it, Dread Bomb will deal 480% to the target that gets hit and 360% aoe 12 yards around him. OP is asking if using Berzerkerrage would increase the damage by 25% since he'd be using Weapon Throw at max fury (120 fury). If it does, then this build would be high burst build that could be very much viable in hell

I'm with you on this one. "Spend all remaining fury on aoe extra damage" sounds brutal the first moment, but 3% per fury isn't much. There are spenders, that deal "slightly" more damage per fury.
25% increased damage from beserker rage plus an extra 10% damage from no escape. All adds to a massive hit, and i would be getting up to max fury very quickly. Also seems a bit more fun to play. Definately gonna play around when i hit 56.
If I understand it right, the beauty in the build is for AoE packs.
Having 120 rage (not including +Fury affixes!) gives Dread Bomb 360% additional damage to Weapon Throw's 120%, for 480% weapon damage. Combine that with full Fury Berserker Rage gives you a 600% weapon damage AoE. Combine this with the slowest, hardest-hitting weapon you can find and you have quite a punch.
Obviously Ground Stomp is used to get everyone in close to maximize area effect of Dread Bomb.
I would use Cleave runed with +Fury per enemy hit, myself, since the whole point is to generate Fury for Dread Bomb.

Seems like a fun build to try.
I see some assumptions made here. First, if Dread Bomb is calculated AFTER the usage of the 10 rage from Weapon Throw, lowering it's maximum to 330%. Still nice, however, some simple napkin math below may make it seem lackluster. Second, if it isn't, it still is only 360% weapon damage for two passives and the expending cost of all of your fury. I am intentionally excluding WT's damage from this, as it pales in comparison to the cost of rage that is required.
Since the purpose seems to be about drawing the mobs in and then unleashing one huge aoe damage shot, that is all fine and dandy. However, there is a slight ramp up time (fury generation) and maximal positional requirement of mobs.
If we take Seismic Slam with the Cracking Rift rune, we can use this spell four times at 120 rage. That's 255% x4, excluding the 25% damage benefit. If we take that into consideration, the first initial cast is 319% weapon damage. In an area outwards from you, as well as a knockback. That is only 93% (or 131% if it does not take into consideration the rage cost of weapon throw) extra damage for 90 more rage. Also, it is a safer to use option and without the risk of being near mobs. On top of this, you have to drag the mobs on top of you for it to be 100% effective. A problem I can see, is if the Dread Bomb does NOT kill the mobs, you're not surrounded with only the hope that Revenge will proc or that Charge will be up. I'm sure we have all been in a situation where we're surrounded by mobs and insta-gibbed and spanked because we couldn't get away in Diablo 2.
I think this might be an interesting build if you focus more on the aoe damage in combination with the surround you're going to need. Potentially switching Bash out for Cleave and having Rend in there for an aoe dump. Possible rotation like this: Get to 105 fury, stomp the mobs into you, rend, cleave twice, dread bomb. I can safely assume that the amount of aoe damage here will be sufficient to destroy or severely cripple enemies to the point where you should be okay with one Revenge proc.
I think the build is interesting, I just think you are focusing on different elements of attack (one single target - Bash, aoe from you and aoe at a distance). And should either re-think the stomp component of the build or work in an additional aoe ability that can compliment mobs being all up in your grill.

You forgot the 10% inc dmg to weapon throw from the passive: No Escape.
But since you gonna pull enemys into melee range ... wouldn't brawler be a better idea?
Also you could probably stack 5x4% dmg inc from frenzy.
Also you could probably drop an ability for runed battle rage, another 30% inc dmg.
480% base dmg at 120 rage + 25% with zerk rage = 600% + 20% with frenzy stacks = 720% + 30% with battle rage = 936% dmg
Good point. I did forget the extra 10%. And it's -10 Fury, since Weapon Throw costs 10 Fury.
I got 866.25% damage with this build. It all really depends how and in what order the additional damage is applied. I did:
[(3% * 110) + 120%]*1.10 = 495% with no other buff than the 10% extra to Weapon Throw. This is Weapon Throw's base damage.
Then you have 30% (Runed Battle Rage) + 20% (Runed Frenzy at 5 stacks) + 25% (max Fury) = +75%. This is the additional damage modifiers, assuming it's additive.
528% * 1.75 = 866.25% damage.
Either way it's a ton of damage if you just go all-out rape build.
Yeah if Hell was survivable would go for http://us.battle.net...YfVi!fWc!cZZcaa
dropping ignore pain and bash for battlerage and frenzy(maniac). Would say that in most aoe situtations i wouldnt even be touching frenzy, as i would groundstomp and start charging around for really quick fury build up considering 15 fury every cooldown (hitting more than 5 mobs with FC). Through this might/might not have revenge proc, if its up i can get mass fury up with a single hit. Dread Bomb after another Ground Stomp. That is assuming that dread bomb will take advantage of beserker rage, i was wondering if anyone had concrete data to support this otherwise if the weapon throw and dreadbomb dont drain fury at the same time, there is no point having beserker rage.
On a boss fight would really be GS/FC every cooldown keeping frenzy at 5 stacks. and dreadbombing boss/add spawns during event.
Edit: Forgot to say that a major part of why i wanna try this build is because it seems to me like it would be so much fucking fun.
What if you intentionally let yourself drop to 20% life alongside Relentless. If the rage expenditure is removed via the benefits of this trait, then that'd be pretty sexy.
Also, since this is an AOE build, the Brawler trait would provide more damage than the No Escape trait.
Yeah Brawler would probably be a dps imporvement over No Escape, will change that. But to your first point. Firstly i would be too fucking scared to stay at under 20% as any attack that would hit me/ missile in the air would probably kill me. But more importantly, i would be using Revenge as a pretty huge fury builder and that would be healing wether i liked it or not. From my experience in beta it was not uncommon to hit 10-15 targets with revenge, so the fury and heals sort of pille up.

Well, technically you'd have a lot of damage mitigation for that last 20%. You'll easily be able to kill them off if you stun them, then spam this spell. Especially if it allows you to do the maximum amount of damage by not consuming rage. You could literally sit there and just spam this spell from a safer distance. Just a thought. I might end up trying this to screw around with it.
If that was the case, i think that would probably be top single target dps we could pull off wouldnt it. Constant Dread Bomb hits on target, somehow squeeze in Wotb with insanity and you would be doing insane damage.(No pun intended)
