posted a message on Need upgrades for revenge/rend build
I used to follow full defensive builds before I quit my barb.. but after coming back to D3, I just revived my barb with crit build -- and I'm loving it! I would suggest stacking some crit hit dmg and crit hit chance with str for full dps output. Rend and revenge should keep you healthy through out the fights

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Riek-1935/hero/5303 this is how i built mine with limited budget and some items left over after i stripped all my characters.

    hope that helps

posted a message on Act 2 entry - At a loss - please help
I was in the same defensive stat as you when I first hit act 2 inferno, then I retired from my barb for a while until I found few upgrades for him. I realized how important and effective all resist is. When I had about 600 all resist, I used to get 1-2 shot by random act 2 monsters.

So far, with warcry and enchantress I have 9k armor, 35k hp, 800-900 all resist. And I realized its very hard for act 2 mobs to take me down. One thing I lack is dps and life sustain other than revenge procs, so weapon with life on hit/steal is my next upgrade goal... (hard time taking belial down in time..)

and I use warcry with impunity, revenge, wotb, ignore pain with ignorance is bliss (earthquake for act boss), frenzy with sidearm, and leap with iron impact.

Oh, at last the reply I've been waiting for. Thank you man.
I have similar stats(45k hp, same armor and a bit more damage), but my resistances are around 100 lower. Well, I'll try to get more resistances and gear up my enchantress, and then post if it helped me.
Yea resistance really helped me, I'm around 600 all resist now, same armor and lower hp but I don't die in act 1 inferno anymore, time to adventure through act 2 now..

man, 35-40k hp, 6-7k armor depending on passives, 8-10k dps, 250-400 all resist including arcane and phys right now and I'm STILL getting owned. I literally try new builds every bosses, but god I just keep dying. I am having hard time in Act 1, its mostly some minibosses that has crazy stats for me, having hard time tryign to find general build for inferno.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WeVkYX!beV!cccbZa

this is what I'm running currently (replaced battle rage with leap in there becusae I kept dying to wallers)

I have sword/board atm, but I do have 2 hander (1200 weap dmg) and another decent 1 hand (all over 700-800 weap dmg).

I was able to solo/carry ppl in hell with no problem, what od you guys think I'm doing wrong in inferno? I know there is clearly something I'm doing wrong, just can't seem to figure out.. Wouldn't mind how some of you prioritize your item stats as well!

I don't understand why people are using Revenge, it's terrible in the higher difficulties. You're basically gambling at a chance of staying alive.

Anyone who has experienced hell/inferno knows you melt in a matter of seconds, so why the hell to you rely on a skill that requires you to be hit to activate and then to be in the danger zone for maximum effectiveness? It hits like a truck and is amazing on normal/nightmare where you just leap mobs and go from 1% to 100% health, but useless beyond that.

If you want the heal, Ancient Spear (Dread Spear) is a lot better and it works as a peeling tool, Overpower (Revel) is way more reliable for the same AoE pack heal.

If I'm missing anything on why Revenge is good please let me know, because I find it pretty lackluster after the initial reaction of OMFG THIS KILLS EVERYTHING AND IM IMMORTAL BBQSAUCE.
Revenge is beyond OP in conjunction with Relentless

and I've tested it multiple times, it works for me.

posted a message on highway to hell (help)
Your armor is way too low, I feel like you're sacrificing alot of defensive skills for dps. Remember, armor = reduces ALL types of damage. I had 2.8k armor with warcry in act 2 nightmare. Right now in hell act 1 (nearly at butcher) I have around 4k armor. Just from knowing the numbers you gave, I'd try to put some defensive passives/upgrade your gears.

IMHO, when upgrading your items your priorities shoudl be (this is bias coming from 1 hand + shield)

    1. Raw stats (damage/armor)
    2. Vitality/Life%
    3. Strength/Resists
    4. Life steal/life per hit

and ofc, its important to find socket in every items.

posted a message on There is a point using 2H?
All those abilities are "top end" damage.

HotA with Smash - 270% consistently sicne no cd
    Revenge - nuff said
Earthquake - 2000% over 8 seconds. Prob better used in conjunction with WotB cd since both have long cd.

MAYBE furious charge/seismic slam can challenge the damage out put these spells can put out, but only with damage increase rune which isnt that great compared to other runes these spells have.

2 hander also works great with WW, but downside is its weak damage =/ I would probably use earthquake + wotb for boss encounters, since I found this combo to kill bosses really quickly with high dmg 2 hander.

at first I thought nightmare was overbuffed, but then I realized i was pretty low in lvl (I was lvl 27.. when I first went to nightmare, I thought lvl 30 was requirement?)

then I realized I cant stand and tank + slash through eveerything like in normal xD, and it was all good again. Haven't died much, noticed I die very frequently against bosses with frost/arcane if I don't dodge those things.

Since we are talking about how annoying blizzard is........ Anyone else experiencing slow motion game play if played on a resolution greater than 800x600? i could run the beta (that wasn't fully optimized) flawlessly but once the game came out (fully optimized,so i should be able to run it even better, right?) i can only play on 800x600. as an example with my resolution higher than 800x600 i can attack once a second, but with it at 800x600 i can attack 3-4 times a second.

Hum, thats weird, mine is fine (playing at 1920x1080) and a lot smoother then in the beta.

Yea my game is much mroe smoother compared to beta as well

posted a message on Looking for tips on a duel wield spec.
For dual wield I think best you can go for is raw damage, since from what I understand, aoe spells like earth quake, ww, revenge, overpower, etc is based off of your main weapon's damage (so, counts as only 1 hand).

I could be terribly wrong, but that is how I understood the tooltip description of the skills.

posted a message on Critique my planned build of questionable inferno viability
I noticed that in your most updated build, you have 4 aoe abilities. (5 if you count leap) If it were up to me, I would probably keep 1-2 aoe abilities at max, and have 1-2 defensive abilities or 1 defensive + 1 utility/buff/debuff.

Due to personal preferences if I had to taek anything out there, I woudl take out rend and HotA I just don't like those abilities.. don't know why I just dont like them. Instead of those two, I would throw in War cry with Impunity or more armor runes, and Ignore pain with runes depending on the situation. I may also take out Leap for something else as well such as WotB or Berserker's rage.

There's a good chance I go with Revenge instead of Overpower, although that's going to be one that I can utilize. Then again, I think my original idea of swapping Battle Rage out for Revenge may be a major damage booster and it will help life regen.
I used to have both overpower and revenge for one of my old barb builds for aoe damage, but I don't know if swapping revenge for battle rage will give you higher dps overall. It's really hard to say with what we have for now, perhaps you can try experimenting in the actual game, and see how often revenge actually procs.. Because I remember in beta for some reason revenge RARELY procced for me =/ IF anything, I'd rather keep overpower over revenge, since overpower is something that you can track down yourself. Revenge will probably be better than overpower if you're surrounded by 1847892379238 monsters, but I can see overpower triumphing revenge in any other cases.

And I agree with Firehaert in that you'd probbly be better of using Brawler instead of Berserker's rage since you have fury spendor in your build. Overall I really like your build, it looks solid WW barb build to me :) If you find furious charge not as beneficial as you thought, you could consider swappign that for Ignore Pain to be used as defensive active for higher difficulties.

oh and I know some people mentioned stuns in inferno is going to be 0.5 seconds. But if you know some bosses have channelling casts, or very slow cast times that is interruptable, then you may want to consider keeping ground stomp somewhere in your build to interrupt those casts. It may not be absolutely necessary (for beta SK, when you interrupt his summoning, after stun duration is over he'd just start channelling over again), but something to keep in mind

Ah and one last thing, if you plan on using 2 handers (**high weapon damage), than you could use earthquake instead of revenge/overpower. Use earthquake, and start spinning~ :) I realy don't see earthquake being viable for 1 handers or dual-wields since it relies on weapon damage.
