Since I first heard about the arena, I had an idea for a character build. I wanted a full CC I will do next to no damage but the idea is that I control the other team while my partners pick them off. The only problem with the build right now is we do not know how some of these spells will act against other players but...
Is it me or did you forget the runestones and passive?

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
Cool build, it would be pretty sweet to see in the arena! Hex would definitely be a huge advantage in PvP, but I have a feeling it will get adjusted to something like Polymorph (from WoW) for the arena. Casting Polymorph turns someone into a sheep that runs around for x seconds, but they return to normal form if they are attacked. Either that, or the duration of the spell should be lessened; with the current build of a 10 second cooldown and 8 second spell duration, you'd essentially be able to turn someone into a chicken that can't attack and receives more damage for 80% of their time on the field. . .which definitely seems overpowered to me. I really like the idea of CC in PvP though, so I hope an interesting version of this build can still exist for you.
horrify - phobia (obsidian): increase fear duration
mass confusions - mass hysteria (indigo): non-confused monsters are stunned
grasp of the dead - unbreakable grasp (obsidian): increase slow
wall of zombies - barricade (indigo): doubles the width of the wall
hex - hedge magic (golden): heals friendly targets
Spirit walk - jaunt (indigo): increase duration
passives;
vision quest - anytime you 4 skills on cooldown 300% increase to mana regen
death trance - reduced dmg by 20% when below 50% hp
spiritual attunement - increase max mana by 20% and regen 2% every sec

We'll have to wait and see how it plays out, but I'm think Life Link Zombie Dogs are going to be mandatory for PvP builds. Surely they'll balance Toad of Hugeness, but it's a nice "sap" ability to have around. And Fetish Army seems like it'd be pretty good at gumming up the works. However, that depends on how easy they are to kill. All-in-all I think control is going to be the WD's primary PvP strength, but I'm not sure how well it will work if you focus on it to the exclusion of everything else.
I couldn't see the passives and runes... but I spent a few minutes looking at runestone affects and it seems you can do some damage while having a lot of cc.
