GJ, Basek, this gives a gope) Did u farm most of your gear ingame or at AH? I mean I went through act 1 several times, did a 4-hour leprecon farm with full +dropchance gear but still got very few useful items...
Looks like a good build, and when I'm high enough I'll use it. Currently I am lvl52 Act I of Hell. Most of the Elite packs I run into have fire chains, and freeze. So I'm dying a lot unless I can kite them.

A lot of both, farming I felt was more useful if I farmed AH gear to make money to buy my gear. ^^;
Just one question, do you really feel like the extra one second with the Self Reflection blind rune is worth it? Why not maybe blinding echo?
Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it useless.
If Kiting around a ranged Molten elite and it runs in to a large pack of enemies (Fields of slaughter Act3 -__-) then it's 100% worth it.
One second is a LONG time. That's one second sooner my Seven-Sided strike is up, One second sooner my Serenity is up.
It can mean the difference between a lot of different situations.
At the same time though it can be useless. the 60% increase in missing on elites can be far more valuable against "Fast/Vamp/Extra Health" mobs. When every hit counts and you need to just sit and take it.
Moving through an act you'll see me head back to town A LOT and switch little runes.
I'm in the process of uploading my Solo Belial kill and you'll see me switch from using backlash to Divine protection because the situation demands for it.
For echoing flash in particular. It'd be very useful if I knew I could be in range 100% of the time, and if I knew it'd actually help me 100% of the time. 6 seconds after the original cast could mean that I've been surrounded for 5 seconds. That's not a good situation to be in.
Where the 1 second extra daze could mean I've gotten a good distance away. Waited for my heal/shield to come back off CD and ready to engage again.
It's his hit box. It's just the mechanic of his fight.
He does it in a pattern though, his two arm strike is always the third in the rotation. First he'll dive his fist through the ground. Second he'll hit the platform with his elbow Third Strike he'll hit with both. He cannot travel far with this strike. It'll almost always hit the same area as the second.
I recommend dodging the first strike and start to kite to the other side of the platform, he shouldn't get with you a hit then. Stay around the edge so you don't get that nasty hit box clipping you.
Hey Basek, I like your build but I was wondering what weapon you are using. I'm currently using a daibo with 931.2 dps and 548-1154 damage /w 90ish vit on it. I'm very fast though, and I have a nice shield to use, I just need a good 1 hand weapon. I wanted to know what stats you generally look for and have on your 1 hand weapon. I'm thinking I need life steal but I just dont know what stats to look for on a 1 hand wep.
just beat belial with a barb and a demon hunter. i had to just tweak it a little bit to since i think OP has better gear. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aTXYgh!TYU!ZbcZba me and the barb tried to tank the vipers as the DH burns and i used all my CC on every big group. his build really was the basis of mine thank you so much!!!

Higher the DPS the better, if you get stats on it then it's icing on the cake.
I'm really stubborn and I've been camping the AH waiting for a yellow 1k DPS weapon with those stats +attackSpeed
Really great build! Helped me a lot. I just made one minor change with great impact. I changed One With Everything to Beacon of Ytar and stacked just all resis and no particular resi. It makes the chain cc of this build even more powerful.
no flaming but...
Why don't you use resolve (reduce enemies dmg by 25%) instead of seize of initiative? Because, at the moment, with my gear, seize of initiative only give me 8% more dmg reduction from my armor...so its 17% less than resolve.
and I prefer to replace one with everyting by the guardian's path because 15% mitigate more dmg than guardian's path ...considering you don't stay in plague, molten, desecrator like a fucking moron lol ..
waiting for your opinion and sry for my bad english lol
Be all means, disagree with me. Nothing would please me more then someone correcting me on a piece of my build, that would only make us both better at the game. Which is my goal with sharing information.
Seize the initiative is always up, and doesn't depend on my attacks to keep up the 2.5 second duration. Reslove wouldn't protect me from range monsters or caster monsters if I was handling melee. It depends on a lot going in my favour for it to be effective. I prefer the dependable armour rather than a 2.5 second debuff.
You're losing two things with taking Guardian's path instead of one with everything. You obviously lose a ton of resistance, and you lose your shield. Which is another form of mitigation. Dodge is far to much RNG for me to completely depend on. I love a good dodging spree, but when I take that hit to the face I love that my shield can absorb 75% of it..
Also, I'm a moron sometimes ;). It's not always simple to get out of molten, plagued & desecrate. I'll take my fair share of ticks before I can always get out. Without resistance I felt like I melted way to fast (0.7 seconds in molten and I watched my 60k HP pool drop to 0!)
It's not always Elite mob specials that you need to resist either. Act 3, the flying bats & Fallen shaman's destroy you with fireballs. In the fields of slaughter you have the plague harbingers, and In the crater you have the succubus All of them do insane magical attacks without being elite. If you're in a pack of melee and their on the outside beating down on you then your dodge isn't going to do much to save your life.

Thanks for the response!
Thanks for yours too I'm going to try a shield right now because like you said...dodge is really RNG and sometimes on belial I just get one shot in phase 2
You're not doing anything wrong, I got demolished going in to act 2 as well and spent hours in act 1 farming stuff.
Currently having the same experience in act 3, where I'm farming the first half saving up for a better weapon so I have the DPS to handle the higher elites.
Seriously thinking about leaving the monk and going for wizz or dh because this just seems impossible atm.
It's funny on mumble my friends are all talking about rolling Barbarian from Wizard & Demon Hunter.
I feel like Range classes have an advantage with less gear, but as soon as we get on equal gear level we can clear faster because we can take the hits.
After all this shuffling around with items I decided to go for almost the same build as Basek. Result: catastrophy. I really have no idea what to think of this but even when I just run into some normal mobs in act2 inferno.. I get melted away like an icecream in the sun..
The build is there to support you, if you don't have the right level of gear it won't do much for you.
Also don't forget the importance of "Armour" It reduces ALL damage,
*Incoming Shameless plug* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUzLB89J7QY
I go over how positioning can be key in dealing with mobs that do insane damage to you.
Don't give up though! Monk is amazing! Trial by fire!
Second is this belt: http://i.imgur.com/NvpS2.jpg
That's a random picture of one, take a look at the reduce melee damage. When generated that is always constant, between 10%-20%
That means it's godly. There are currently a lot on the auction house around the ranges of 50k-3million
I highly suggest buying one. Try your best to match all the stats you want, but look for the 17-20% damage reduction.

This is a build I created when I hit the difficulty level of Act 2 & 3.
It's highly defensive with high resistance, Dodge and HP.
Just found some spelling mistakes re-watching it... how I have no idea how I miss them previewing the video before rendering... bah. Still enjoy.

Sadly, I do not have 50million....
Yet....
