My 4-year-old computer can run D3 (beta) on max. And it's the only game I'll play for the foreseeable future, so I saw no point in upgrading. I did consider, however.
Only need to replace my GFX card (Gforce 8800 GTX 768 Mb) since FPS did slow in most crowded fights in the beta and it's starting to have some malfunctions.
Same situation here! My graphics card, she's seen better days the old girl, yes she has.
They just put out the GTX 690 =) It's only 1200$ !! (Or get the 680 for $499 lol)
..... sigh sometimes I miss my single days when I had money like that to drop on just a video card.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
Again for anybody (no-one I guess lol) that's interested in my BF3 doings: Our clan (diM) are entered in our national BF3 competition (Do Gaming League DGL) and we played our second game tonight and beat the shit out of our competitors. Played Canals & Seine Crossing; it was fun. That's all.
well done! And on the subject of BF3, last night i came across this;
Dolan found me i dont even know that guy!
Which also means that you can add me now (yay)
I'm probably the only person in the wolrd who watched this and was thinking "Watch out litte crabs, don't get too close!"
@VegasRage I'll try to get up one of Dad's super moon pictures a little later tonight. He applied a little sharpening in software, and some of the shots are cool. You can even see little strings of debris spreading out from some of the impact sites.

I have the exact same graphics card, Beta is beta though, I'll wait to see how it plays on live before I trade it in.
I've just started learning guitar, does anyone have any tips or maybe a heads up for some beginner songs to start off on?
EDIT: apologies on interrupting the conversation!

I had originally written you a pretty lengthy response but my fucking browser backed out of my post.
I'll boil it down to a few points:
1) "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day is the perfect beginner's song because it introduces you to many musical concepts and guitar techniques at the same time.
2) Don't attempt the Tristram theme until you think you're ready. If you find yourself becoming frustrated with a song, put the guitar down and take a few breaths. One of the biggest mistakes a beginner makes is assuming that they can't play something and, therefore, can't play guitar. Taking into perspective the amount of time that it takes for a guitarist to actually become good, it's absolutely okay to make mistakes. Nobody's grading you, don't take it too hard on yourself if you can't get something right the first time. Guitar requires a lot of patience but, in my experience, the reward is incredibly gratifying.
3) Don't be afraid of experimenting with chords and especially don't be afraid of chords themselves; chords will hurt. They'll hurt like hell. Suck it up, crybaby.
4) Don't pay for lessons unless you feel you absolutely need them. I've done fine without them (I've been playing for about four years).
5) Try writing songs every once in a while. That's another gift of music; aside from obtaining a skill, you're able to put that skill to use and making something special to you. Take advantage of your skill.

@ Ducha Azriel's point 2 is pretty critical I think. Guitar can be hard starting out. When your fingers haven't toughened up yet, and you haven't developed habits and muscle memory for chord forms and things, difficult songs can be frustrating.
Being patient and giving yourself time to fully absorb the basics is the best thing you can do I think.
I'm no expert though. The hardest guitar piece I ever learned was Melody of Lute from Final Fantasy 4. LOL!
I also reccomend not learning in a vacuum. Even when all you know is a few basic chords, its a lot of fun to play with other people. I was always too shy. I felt like I sucked, and didn't want to screw up someone else's session. My brother on the other hand was fearless and dived right into playing with other people and learning from better players. It definitely speeds things along.
@Trombone Yeh, I'm not quite going crazy yet, but I'm loosing focus on other stuff. It just feels like i should be doing something Diablo related, but there's not anymore news, and the launch site has almost wrapped up, and the beta is closed. I'm not sure I'll keep my sanity through Monday.
You know what would absolutely suck. Somebody commits a crime of obscene proportions and they plant evidence of DNA and such which would be yours and you get locked up for a decade or so, without a chance of playing Diablo 3. Even Bubba in the showers would be hard pressed to make you worse off than you were going in.
And it isn't until the sentence is nearly up, when police finally catch on to the false evidence and the judge exonerates you.

@ Azriel and Succubus_queen, Thank you so much for the advice, I will definitely use it while learning! +1 to both of you!

the long wait is almost up. For some of us it's been 4 years of waiting.. 4 years! Some people go to prison for murder for less than 4 years.
Four years? What strange world do you live in? It may have been announced four years ago but I've been waiting much longer than that. :'(
In reality I've been waiting for....well I don't even know how long I've been waiting it's been that long! But it feels like it's been half my life (which it actually has :P)
