So, no mention of a self found mode, PvP, ladder, or any kind of competitive, community driven addition to the game.
We've heard about a hundred times now that D3 is not meant to become any competitive, e-sports like game, so if you're waiting for that, please move on. I got what I wanted; self-found would've been nice but seriously, just because I got only 9 out of 10 things from my x-mas wish list, I'm not gonna kill Santa.
Just had a thought.
If paragon is being switched to be account bound, how will that work with the stat point allocation that we've seen?
Hmmm, maybe that's intended. So that you have to choose which of your characters you want to have "buffed" by the Paragon system the most. Although I think that will lead everyone to choose Vitality, and then get DPS from gear. Just like D2
If this is true........it means no item upgrade until whenever RoS is released, which could be many many months.
Well, to be honest, looking at screens of 3k DPS weapons I think you can throw away everything as soon as the x-pac is out, anyways. So they might as well play around a bit with D3 classic and start working on itemization by introducing some of the new changes (whatever that might be). Didn't they already confirm an itemization patch before the x-pac?

Perhaps the itemization changes are going to be 2-phase? As in.....1.09 (pre-xpac) and then 2.0 (included with RoS).

Yeah. That's how I would imagine stuff happening. The x-pac is still probably about a year away (final announcement at Blizzcon, closed beta start, open beta, ...) and there's no reason to not at least "mess around" with the itemization as it is no (it's not like they could "destroy" anything, it's broken anyways ;-))
Lemme get this straight....loot 2.0 won't be playable without the xpac? Will there be a 1.09 itemization patch before xpac or not?

I really, really hope not. Though I wouldn't put it past them with the hype train full bore now. Imagine no new content until april-may(guess release for expac) they probably see no harm in letting the game completely die till then.
Cause they know millions will line up to buy this expansion.

I'm a bit concerned for the interim, very excited for the future, but a bit disappointed in how things may stagnate until RoS releases. Let's not fool ourselves with the same excitement that hit the airwaves in 2008 when D3 was announced as being in development. 4 years went by......and it was highly underwhelming after being pushed back numerous times.
I'm torn. Very excited but I'm tired of having my dick yanked by this company with their hyperbole laden 'hurry up and wait' logistics.

I'm having a blast right now, after many months finally making some progress on my mid-paragon stuck wizard. Also, wasn't it just a few weeks ago that some people found out about this new gameplay mechanics for monks (Nirvana build)? It's not like this game is dead, unless you tell yourself it's dead. And I'll definitely prepare for the paragon change, i.e., level 5 classes as high as possible (or whatever is best ;-))
Really interested to find out how this new point allocation paragon system works and how your current paragon levels will transfer over. I'd assume they'd take your total exp from all chracters combined and apply it to a new paragon account level. Taking the levels themselves from the characters individually wouldn't make sense as then people would just level as many characters as high as possible as its quicker to level the earlier levels.

SC is fairly dead to me, just my personal opinion (of course others aren't feeling the burnout as I am). Been having a god damn blast playing SF HC. Been playing with Maka lately, and a few other SF HC friends. So.....I'm not too worried about the game staying fun. It's really endeared itself to me of late and much of the angst and hate over D3's shortcomings have dissipated.
I was, however, REALLY REALLY looking forward to 1.09 breathing some life back into my SC experience.

Well yeah, they said they weren't releasing anymore patch updates, that the next one would be the expansion. So yeah we won't see loot 2.0 until the expansion hits.

When did they say that?
Has there been some confirmation that there will be no 1.09 itemization patch?
I wonder how that Paragon allocation system will work. On the screen, points are allocated to STR, but what if you play INT classes as well. Common sense would be that this allocation is character-based...

Can't recall if it was a tweet from Josh or the blog post he made. But everyone knows this O.o Plus like every time on the official forums is asked what patch 1.09 will have or what will it contain they always start their comment with something like: "We do not yet have any information that we can share about future patches after patch 1.0.8"
