Everyone claiming world first X will just have to sit down and shut up if they got the unfair advantage of an earlier release.
It'll have to be region first I guess then.
why would u want to burn the game we have been waiting years for, imo the first play should be every part of the map uncovered, every cinematic, speaking to npc's left, right and center. Its the way to go, that will not get ur region first.
burning to @60 after that seems like a good plan tho
Some people haven't been waiting for it for a decade
They might not have played D2 at all.

there won't really be an opinion on region firsts since it will simply be based on your achievement date. By the way, do they track minute and hour this time for achievement unlocks or is it just date (WoW failed at this and due to that caused a lot of arguments about close calls)? I haven't thought about looking for that until now.
Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those people who wants to water down my experience by just blazing through everything but I'm not going to enjoy seeing topics flood the front pages of forums about firsts (sure, I can just ignore them but I'd prefer not to have to sift through trash).
Another option is to just let the game come out in seperate time zones and wait until the 15th, in whatever region you located in. If you honestly cannot wait six more hours after years, there is something wrong with you. If getting first 60 really means that much to you, think of it this way, it will be based on region, not world. You can simply do math and subtract six hours or however many hours from their release vs your own. I do not see any problem here. Go outside for six hours before you become enslaved to your computers for months on end.
Simultaneous release world wide would mean different release dates. Obviously, from a marketing and PR point of view really not that desirable. Not to mention the confusion this would cause the fans who can be viewing international websites advising of a release date.
For example, I'm in Australia which is 12 hours later that PSD. By the time the 15th rolls around in the US, it will be Tuesday here.
Another example was the Beta weekend. It opened at 5am Saturday for me and closed 3am Tuesday. Its just the way things are.
I've put in for some time off work in anticipation, so I'm glad they are simply releasing the game as planned, regardless of times zones. As someone pointed out above me, anyone that is legitametly bothered by this needs their head read.
Sometimes, still, i get amazed about, what small things people will complain about.
I know. It's not like back in the days when you were happy if you survived another day because there was a plague going around or something. Todays generation is so spoiled.
lmao so true. All I'm worried about is exactly what hour of what day I'll be able to play a video game that'l last me a decade, when my ancestors worried about a neighboring tribe coming to their house in the middle of the night and slitting their throats.
But son of a bitch! I can't believe someone else might be able to play before me! MY LIFE IS RUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINED
A few weeks ago I asked BlizzardCS on twitter if CST would get it at 12AM or had to wait until 2AM (12AM PST) and they said for North America it would be PST, Blizz HQ time. Take it with a grain of salt but that was a few weeks ago so.....ya.

Sometimes you don't always know where you stand... until you know that you won't run away.

"Probably" midnight Pacific time but they'll tell us more "soon."
Well that was stated before Jay sat down with the leads and talked "release time". Bashiok's tweet is currently the best source we have so far and it slightly indicated separate time zone releases.

For example, today i complained at Carls JR. I ordered the Chicken tenders. Not the chicken stars. Give me my chicken tenders....
There is one thing I never quite understood about the rush at release. So im in Canada and a good friend of mine is in england. He is 5 hours ahead of me. So if servers for him where to go up at midnight and he where to play and play and play. Eventually he would tier out . The difference in time zones is erelavent. Its stamina in general ? isn't it? Am I missing something?
I'm sure in the states it will be 12am PST. Us east coasters gotta wait till 3. Personally, if thats the case, i will be sleeping til 9am. Not going to torture myself.
