This is going to be a game that will last the next 20years why is everyone so angry it's not out yet? When people have hit LvL 60, have beaten Inferno(not saying it's going to be easy), have the best PvP character, only 6 months after release, and have grown an itch on their undercarriage from not showering; they will think to themselves, "man when is there going to be a expansion pack already!!".
Goodness people. Be happy Blizzard is taking there time to perfect perfection for all us consumers.
I'd rather have a polished game later in the year than one full of bugs/balancing issues now. I was trying to hold onto SWTOR until D3 got released but I couldn't deal with the lack of content @ 50 and the imbalance of pvp - unsubbed. Give me quality over rushed beta-stage software any day of the year.
Haha I think most people has been saying this since 2010!! But it's true, I'll rather play a polished, bug free game, but man, I'm tired of saying this this much!!
This is good news release date in the next "few coming weeks", meaning 2-3 weeks and you don't give a release date 4 months prior to the release.
A few weeks in Bliz speak can be in the realm of a few months. The issue i believe stems from what Blizzard themselves have admitted to, they announced Diablo III waaay too early.
Am I crazy or did we get a statement from some official source estimating a Q1 launch. I understand that it was originally slated for Q4 2011, then "Early" 2012 but I thought that officially changed to "Q1" before the delay revealed at last week's conference call. I remember much hype a few weeks back as "Early" was updated to "Q1". Anyone else remember this? :\

Few weeks can be anything between 1-42 weeks from now, 42 is as we all know the meaning of life and as such I feel that it is safe to draw the conclusion that in 42 weeks we will be seeing a diablo 3 release thus making Diablo 3 the meaning of life.
All in all I feel abit like this: I want the game to be bugfree, I do not want them to release D3, MoP and their take on MOBA too close to eachother so I'm hoping for a early Q2 release rather than a late one. We're all hoping for a bugfree release but as far as I know, that's never happened with anything more advanced than pacman or tetris.
42 is the answer to the BIG question and not to the meaning of life.
The meaning of life is simple:
"It ends."
<--- hence why 42 is in my name. Good books, good books...
Well guys I hate to be a broken record but I'll repeat myself for a fourth time and maybe now it will sink in. D3 won't be released till after mop. I'm guessing they made this business decision after missing the 2011 deadline. There is no way in hell (pardon the pun) they'll release Diablo within a month or so of MOP release, the potential revenue loss to mop is too great.
A month or so after MOP you'll see a D3 release, afterall they want you buying the wow expansion and if you're busy playing D3 your less inclined to bother with it, but they know you'll buy d3 no matter what.
The main problem here, however, is that most WoW players that are Diablo players got the WoW Annual Pass so they will have WoW and a free copy of Diablo 3. Releasing MoP and D3 will not harm WoW in the least, and WoW is their cashcow. Diablo 3, however, may be hurt if it is released too close to MoP, but not by much. (Again, the Annual Pass is helping them with that.)
This is completely ridiculous... All WoW expansions have had a 5-6 month beta. You REALLY think Blizzard's gonna let Diablo 3's beta run for over a year? -.- Comeon...
LinkX, I am sorry to say, but you are waaay too pessimistic. Furthermore, what you are saying is trash and wrong. I have a friend who works in blizzard and he is part of the Diablo 3 team. I've asked to no end as to the release date and of course he won't say. However, the biggest piece of info that he did give me is that the game will be released BEFORE MoP beta and DEFINITELY before MoP. I gurantee it will be a very early Q2 launch because MoP will probably come around May or June.
So cheer the hell up and stop being such a negative nancy.
how does my post make me sound mad? no i am not mad, just trying to make this guy cheer up a bit! and I am just trying to share the information that I have. MoP won't be released before Diablo 3 will, it's just not gonna happen
I think late June is a bit farfetched but you never know. Remember, there is some type of "announcement" this month, although any hype seems that it should be disregarded
Okay, first off, everybody needs to get an avatar. Right now.

Okay, now then, MoP and D3 releases will have no connection. (If anything, they will release MoP beta, then D3, but that part is speculation on my part.)
We have to wait for more hints and leaks, until then the best guess would be May or June, pushing into early to mid third quarter. (Granted, I'm not even sure anymore that it'll be out that early, but my original estimate back in november was May or June, so...)

I think that the only connection they will have is that they won't be released extremely close together, since that would be bad from a business sense. I'd guess one would come out Q2 and one Q4, but it's all just guesses since they still have told us almost nothing as far as dates.

I don't know. I don't think they are going to be even that far apart. I'd estimate the MoP beta starts, then the next month D3 comes ou, then three or four months after that MoP comes out.
People that want both games will have the Annual Pass on WoW so they can have both games. People that don't want both games will not be affected by the game they don't want because they don't want it.
Do any WoW players recall how long the betas were for Wow and their expansions? Im sure its irrelevant, but since its an MMO I feel like it should not take longer than the original WoW beta.

I got so much hell for saying it'll be out in either may or june. Hehehe... (Though, now I am wondering if I was too optimistic in that...)
